MILK - Most milks are full of chemicals and the cows are pumped with antibiotics to keep them alive. technically if we continue eating and drinking these antibiotics we will eventually become immune to antibiotics that could save our lives one day. Pus is present when cows are over milked causing infections of the utters. Pus is then excreted along with the milk during milking. even organic milks. Last the milk is pasteurized. This means it is heated to kill all the bacteria present in the milk. This also denatures the proteins in the milk, so you'd have to drink even more milk to get some actual benefits. (denature- changing the molecular structure of something like protein threw heat or acid exposure) I drink soy milk now and occasionally organic milks for baking. soy works and taste just as good, but contains estrogen so males might have some negative effects if the drink a lot at a young age. a good organic soy brand is Silk. they have lots of flavors like vanilla, chocolate, coffee, and some with extra vitamins and extra minerals like fiber (very important), omega-3's, and others. Another good brand is Pearl, which also has many great flavors :3 so yummy~

MEAT - Watch these fun yet disturbing films "the meatrix" and learn about what you might be eating. I'm not a vegetarian, in fact i love meat and cant get enough of it. but once i saw these videos, my ways changed o.o. i only eat grass fed meats now. help spread the word and show your friends and family this video.
Also some tips on choosing meats. Marbling is key to flavor. Most folks in the know can tell you marbling is a nickname for the white flecks of fat in the beef. Don't worry, it turns into tantalizing and tender juices during cooking. The higher the amount of marbling, the higher the quality of beef. USDA Prime beef is the best grade of beef available, USDA Choice beef is below Prime on the scale, and USDA Select is one of the lower quality grades. If your grocer's beef doesn't have USDA Select, Choice or Prime on the label, it's going to be … bad. Anything below Choice, but especially below the Select grade, doesn't have enough marbling to taste good. To someone who doesn't understand the USDA Beef Grades, "USDA Inspected" on the label sounds dandy. The fact is, all beef must be inspected, but that doesn't mean it tastes good. If the meat department doesn't put Select, Choice or Prime on the sticker, it usually means the product received a Standard grade.

VEGETABLES/FRUITS - Potatoes, spinach, pears, grapes, lettuce, cherries, strawberries, nectarines, celery, sweet bell peppers, apples, and peaches are known at the "dirty dozen". according to tests conducted by the USDA and the FDA. Theses are the fruits and vegetables with the highest pesticide residues. try getting these, or all your veggies and fruits, organic. :3

USDA ORGANIC - Always look for the ''USDA Organic" picture on your organic foods :3 (United States Department of Agriculture)

FAST FOOD
- Just dont do it XD even if you eat a salad at McDonalds , the quality of the ingredients are below sucky and 99% is probably genetically modified -.- why risk that when you can make your own organic salad? plus you have all these recipes and stuff from the guild, why not use them?

GENETICALLY MODIFIED ORGANISMS - BEWARE of GMOs. GM or GE (genetically engineered) foods are a big no no. While scientific progress on molecular biology has a great potential to increase our understanding of nature and provide new medical tools, it should not be used as justification to turn the environment into a giant genetic experiment by commercial interests.
Genetic engineering enables scientists to create plants, animals and micro-organisms by manipulating genes in a way that does not occur naturally. These genetically modified organisms (GMO) can spread through nature and interbreed with natural organisms, thereby contaminating non 'GE' environments and future generations in an unforeseeable and uncontrollable way.
Also, there have been situations like the one in india that just make me disrespect the USA even more. We sold GM long grain rice that cannot reproduce to india. it was cheaper than normal rice, but the rice only lasts one generation and cannot multiply so india would be force to continue to buy from us. when some farmers tried to grow the original non-GM long grain rice, the US literally came in and ripped it from there fields and said they went against the world trade contract and sued them. US won. im from the united states, so it saddens me to see how disgusting we can be. they are just giving the USA a bad name and i dont blame the other countries for hating us. there are still originl long grain rice growing in india, but if the GM test continues, they fear there normal crops might be affected.

whew D: that took a while XP
i hope you guys read all of these facts and opinions i have! they are helpful and could save and expand your life.
i might add more if i find anymore facts for you guys. also, feel free to tell me more facts and opinions to add to this list :3

STAY HEALTHY!~

This may (because it is) sound like a complete 180, but I drink an ASSLOAD of milk... I don't use medicine often, but when I do, I usually don't have a problem!

As for meats, could you possibly describe a touch of what had happened in that movie? I watched Faces of Death and ate meat that night....Stuff like that really doesn't bother me.... But that's just me!

As for the vegetables, I'm from PEI....all we eat are potatos!! Haha, if people realized you have to take the time to actually wash your fruits and veggies (except Cranberries) and it should be fine!!

Ya, Fast food is pretty terrible. Even places like Subway are bad...

But that's just me!

lol the milk wont effect us that fast XD
but eventually (maybe children or grandchildren) might have to have stronger antibiotics than before or just become totally immune. us humans already have to consume even more vitamins and proteins than in the past. the recommended food pyramid continues to change over periods of time, increasing the amount of needed vitamins and minerals.

did you watch the movie? what dont you get? :3

I eat fast food, mainly because I'm not that worried. It all has to be relatively safe, at least sickness wise.
Any type of food, regardless of how bad it is, if its for sale on the general market, then it is OK to eat.
The most simple rule is eat it in moderation. I have a burger or a something from a fast food place when I don't have time to cook, or are on the go. I rarely keep sandwich stuff in my house cause it goes bad before I finish it.

On the Genetically Modified stuff, while it does seem a bit messed up, the scientific advancements that it will eventually create will hopefully justify these problems. Genetically modifying food may, hopefully at some point allow the problem of hunger to be eradicated. But, until then I only really support the non-food based GM products, such as corn.

Speaking of which, has anyone seen the corn syrup commercials? Looks like they are finally fighting back against all these rumors of being horrible for you.

Milk, I can't drink to much due to my stomach getting all messed up by cold liquids as is, then a mild dairy allergy, I get sick all day. But, Milk isn't as bad as we make it out to be. A lot of the things that are said about it have been changed, and those changes seem to have been ignored.
Check out White Gold is White Gold, its funny, but actually has some real things about milk (or more so the calcium it gives you)

Haha I wonder why it took them so long to put out those commercials in the first place.
