We have a decint sized school, and last year we only had 3 gaurd members, this year we MIGHT have 5. We put up sign, and everything, is there any other way that you can think of to get more poeple to join?

STRUT YOUR STUFF!!! lol get out there infront of the school and preform, like at freshman orientation, just stand outside where you can be seen and just toss or practice and pass out flyers and just draw in attention! at my BD's old school they had 2 girls starting out and these two girls did all of this and they had 30 by the time Band Camp was over =] god luck!

You can talk to your band director and try to get a guard started at your feeder school, that's what we've been trying to get going. Another thing tht helps us get members is before tryouts we visit our feeder school and perform our winter show each period for the PE classes and that helps a bunch. when we finish performing, we even let them try spinning. We also do the same thing at our own school, sept drumline performs too but it helps alot.

our school does the feeder thing, it really helps. we had 56 (new) girls try out, but only 10 of them made it because we had about 20 vets and our director didn't want more than 30 girls!
