Leth x Tabby; Asi/Lan

Asikari yawned as he shifted in his den, tail flicking as he stretched his weary bones. He was not so old, but he often felt older than his time. His last litter were growing big and soon he would be lonely once again, save the large pride that surrounded him. Still he could not help but feel something was not right within the Kusini, as if the pride seemed very separate while being together. He figured only time would bring the pride back to what it used to be, but how much time? He sighed and moved from his den, gaze floating over the grasslands. He was sure the cubs were out exploring, he never minded that they wandered. He headed for the watering hole, still wishing he was asleep.

Over the hill ‘Lan moved, slowly but surly back to his pride. He had been away for way too long now, and the distance was driving him crazy. Along his journey he had caught up with his father and Adamu, and they have all spoken to one another, had a real heart to heart. He came home happy… more so than before.

Stopping with a deep sigh he called out to Asi, who he smelt along the winds path.

“I’m back!”

He smiled.

“I’m home.”

Asi's ears perked up and before he could wet his poor, dry throat he could hear the call of another. Though he had never spent much time with most of his grandchildren he loved them very much, and Tamu's children were even more special in the fact that they were also made from a dear friend, even if it was a bit weird. He turned immediately though, because he did recognize Lan's voice, he wondered if this ment... was Tamu back? Was Adamu home as well? "Lan, that is you?" He called out, confirming his suspecions. His voice was friendly though, happy.

“Asi, where are you?”

The young adult called out. Smirking darkly under his brown mane. He was much bigger now, leaner. He had filled out nicely over his travels, that was for sure. ‘Lan looked his part, finally.

His eyes narrowed as he moved himself closer to where his friend’s voice came from, until he saw him clearly. A wide smile passed his maw and with a quick dash he ran down to see Asi, speaking out, welcoming.

“I’m home! I’d back! Father and Adamu, I found them along the way...”

Asi grinned and bumped heads with his friend and grandson in a loving and friendly manner when he finally made his appearance. "Lan! Look how large you are!" He stated in mock surprise with a small chuckle, tail flicking. Tamu was back... what would happen now? He loved his son... it had been the sickness. All of it made sense now, things happened during lives... terrible things... but still... he had forgiven him but... his Ari.... sometimes he slipped into feeling like never again breathing just so he could see her once again.

“My father and Adamu won’t be coming back for a while, Asi.”

Lan started by saying, kindly, full-heartedly.

“They both need time to work on themselves, away from the pride. It’s for the best, I was told.”

‘Lan’s tail flicked from side to side as he sat down and smiled kindly, his large shoulder’s flexing.

“I came back for my place within the pride. I came back to be the king my father and Adamu both think I can be. Know I can be. I want to make things right.”

Asi nodded slowly, frowning slightly. So they weren't back yet.... He found his gaze floating toward the direction of Adamu's den site, in the distance. He found himself chuckling softly. "Someone better tell Adamu to hurry home... his female is going crazy without him here.." He said faintly, almost to himself.

His gaze shifted back to Lan and his smile broadened, became prouder. "Ah... but this means we will need a ceeremony soon... to bring to you your birth right, and what has always been yours.." He said, this time his voice more normal

“Hah. I am sure he isn’t too far behind. Adamu just needed a little more time with Tamu...”

He paused; his heart sank remembering that his father was a cold-blooded killer. ‘Lan would never let himself become that, not ever.

“Then let the ceremony begin.”

He laughed, standing. ‘Lan was ready. He wasn’t going to let anyone down. He couldn’t, not anymore.

Asi stood slowly and laughed as well, moving beside Lan and playfully bumping him. "Patience Lan, I still need to speak with the other elders and set everything up... the ceremony will be ready in a few days at best.. At least, that is the quickest I can promise you." He said with a grin, knowing full well the younger line was ready to take his throne. "But... speaking of the throne... have you found yourself an eligiable queen yet?" He said with a slight teasing tone in his voice

A bit thrown off by his question ‘Lan simply smirked and looked around, as if looking for the answer.

“We… can talk about that later! I’m soooo tired from my travels. I need rest.”

Haha. He dodged that one, phew.

“Come, lets go take a rest by the marsh. We can talk more there.”

And with that both males wondered off, making haste to said resting place. They had much to talk about.
