OK PEOPLE we have a few things going on with the guild that we need to address and since this is a Democracy we all need to decide what is to be done. Please post them in this forum or if you wish to keep your ideas private you may Pm me and we can discuss them. You may wonder why I am doing this, it is because I do not want to see our guild Die and unfortunately the posting count is way down and many members have decided it is not worth it. This makes me very sad so i decided I would "take it to the people" and see what everyone thought.
1. Metal has disappeared and had not responded to any of our e-mails in 2 months ... what I want to know is how everyone would feel if I offered to buy the guild from him? Is that ok with you? do you have a problem with it? please say whatever you think. That is why I am putting this out like this. (Clarification:: Metal has not responded to any PM's by anyone in the guild in over 2 months .. but he still comes on Gaia so that is why I said he has disappeared ... sorry for the confusion)
2. The guild had become a bit cluttered lately and it needs to be uncluttered if there are any threads that you personally DO NOT want deleted or moved please inform Coolretrogal
3. Nvr has suggested that we have a permanent thread for our guild where we hold all events and a place to talk in between events. What is your opinion on this? do you agree? disagree? have any ideas?? Retro suggested that with having a permanent thread people would be more apt to come and check back often to see if we are having an event. Plus we would get new members from the new people coming in during the time between events.
4. We have a few members who have NEVER posted in the guild or those who have posted very little (1-10 posts) and we would like to know if you still would like to be part of this guild? We do not want to just randomly delete anyone so if you wish to no longer be a member please let us know smile or if the opposite is true and you would like to remain a member, again please let us know ........either way if we have received no indication that you wish to continue your membership we will be deleting you July 1st
If there are any other issues you think we need to discuss as a guild please post it in them here as well

hello all sorry i havent been on in a while. my b day is this wednesday as well as my graduation so i have been super busy this week and i started a new job!!

Depending on the price tag, I personally don't have a problem with this. The guild needs to be run by someone who has the time to give it the daily attention it needs.

I agree with Nvr, and with Retro. I think it would be nice to have a permanent place to chat in between events, as well as a permanent place for the events themselves. For anyone who is new to the guild, it not only saves them from having to search for the right place to chat, but also the event's thread title can be updated to reflect new events, so that it's easier for them to see what's going on, and when.

I'm one of those who haven't posted a lot, but that's because I'm too chicken, and worried that I'll bug people. But yeah, I do want to continue my membership.

so sure, you can buy the guild, I don't have a problem with it.
2. Sure, just delete any of my threads :] not that I've made much.
3. Wait, what permanent thread? Oh, it's alright. Don't have a problem with it either because it might be less cluttered. HOWEVER, there is a problem of posting the first some posts because who will update the posts with the new events? I don't know how this is going to work out :/
4. I would still like to be part of the guild! <3 (of course xP)

I haven't been a member for that long, Rose, but I know that you've been doing a fantastic job keeping this guild and its events running. That being said, I think that you would do a great job if you actually owned the guild--just like you're doing a great job now.

I'm still here. I constantly visit the guild but there's nearly no new posts >_<
I think Metal might be angry with us or something like that. If he doesn't answer PMs by us but still accesses Gaia... or maybe he's too busy. Dunno.

My only question about the permanent thread is this: Isn't that why we started the guild? So we would have a place to chat? I have no problem with any of the ideas I was just wondering about that one.

Hey Lacot! *wavies* That is partly why we are working on some re-vamps for the guild. We lost some direction with the loss of our captain, and I think everyone can feel the lack of leadership. Sooo....a makeover is coming up! 4laugh
Good question angel! 3nodding The idea behind a permanent thread is mainly so that our GUILD we be entirely associated with certain events, and....for the ease of those posting new events. We will always have a "place" for new ppl. to check us out--see what gifting is all about, etc.
In theory, these events will be annual and will repeat year after year, and the thread will be there ready for each new event.
The thread will mainly be the "event home" thread, and will be open to anyone, anytime! Sometimes ppl. (eeeeek--myself included-- *hangs head in shame*) just want to pop in to say a quick hello to everyone!
The guild is dedicated to our faithful members--a place to really get to know each other (and I truly adore you all--and I DO mean that!), send out b-day greetings (and sooo much more!) and relax--like an "event lounge", lol! We will be here for planning events, games, contests--y'know--all the fun stuff we set out to do in between events! whee

Hmmm
It all sounds vary familiar.. at least a couple of these topics listed above by Rosie, CoolRetro and in BiteMyBardicButt - aka Twink.. lol
1. Suggesting.. making fur sure contact and understanding in what seems to be really happening ... no worries if he's got ya taking the rains for a while Rosie you have always had a way about doing things..
2. Organization of guild Threads can be tricky if not in the proper frame of mind to do so... appropriate main directories / categories.. no need but sorting consistently from there.. deleting post per request of the poster.. no need to delete they organize themselves, by most active anyway..
3. Permanent thread accomplished ... and developing quite nicely, as I think many of us including myself have both posted threads in suggestion area.. as well as talked about it with Rosie..
4. number of postings well... up to those in position to do so.. I will usually only read the posts, unless I can add something of value to it, I wont post just for the sake of posting..
Hopes we all continue in our functional best, regardless of the twists n turns our lives take us, and we end up where we want to be..

I think a permanent thread in the guild for in between event chat is a great idea. I think a permanent thread outside the guild is a bad idea. I think it will make it get old and not as fun anymore, like having Christmas everyday. Part of the appeal is the temporary aspect. I think each event deserves it's own new thread.
