My friend Becky and I did some long exposure shots awhile ago, which inspired me to try some on my own.. tricky, but thank goodness my mom bought me a remote for my Digital Rebel for my birthday. wink

I tried to keep editing to a minimum with these..
everything done by me (including modeling).

These 3 are really lovely, especially the 1st and 3rd.
Great exposures and expressions!! How long were you exposing?

Thank you!
.. to be honest, I'm not sure. XD
According to the metatags or whatever, each of these exposures was a full second long... but I'm thinking that's just what it defaults to when you've got it set to "bulb". Basically I had to do a looot of playing around with my remote and different times, and I changed the aperture two or three times during the shoot as well, just to see what kind of difference it made in clarity.
Most of my self-portraiture is experimentation because there is so much that I can't control.
.. I think I took at least 150 photos and then from those got about 15 that I loved. XD Which is actually a pretty good ratio considering all the guess work I was doing.

I really love the falling stars one. Though all three are very beautiful. I'm jealous that when you use long exposure that your pics have such a nice resolution... crying Then again you're using a Rebel I'm using a rather old Canon A70 powershoot. haha...
Great Job!

A lot of my photos didn't turn out well at all, and some took some heavy editing. These three, thankfully, turned out pretty well on their own. wink
I generally take 50-150 shots during every session I do, and come up with anywhere from 5-15 that are my favorites and work. A lot of them are blurry, horribly framed, or have lighting that really just doesn't work.

Thankfully, the Rebel is VERY forgiving and does a lot of adjustment on its own for tricky lighting situations.
(I had to use a lot of different apertures to finally find something that worked, as well - the first few were HORRIBLY grainy!)

Thank you!

I love love love the fierce-ness in your eyes and the skine tone. Stunning.
The falling stars one looks very well done too, the only thing that bugs me are the eyes. I keepcanging my opinion on those eyes. Haha.
The last one is my favorite. I love the light lines on your cheeks and lips. The colors are amazing and demands my attention.

I did a double-take on the lights under the fabric. Great idea, I may have to try that sometime.

I totally understand about the eyes in the second photo!!
I was thinking maybe I should enhance them a little to make them stand out more, but then they'd look way too fake..
it's weird how the green wire of the lights sort of matches up with my exposed eye, as well.. couldn't have planned it that way. XD

Thank you!

first critique smile
I love it.

I wouldn't change your eyes at all.
I find them captivating.

the only thing that bothers me is your lips on the second.
I cant really decide what bothers me about them....
but something is off...

all in all though, I think they're amazing. smile
