Where do you usually go for information on supernatural subjects? Do you try to supply the answers yourself? go to people you know? read books about the subject? go to old or original religious texts and treatises?
I guess I was just kind of curious where people tended to find their information here. I've relied mostly on the advice of others and secondary sources up until now. However, I've recently taken a greater interest in source material, which is good to read even if it tends to be difficult.
Since there may be some confusion as to the difference between secondary sources and source texts, I'll try to give a few examples. The Bible, Sepher Yetzirah, and Buddhist Sutras would be considered source texts. Books about the teachings of Christianity, Kaballah, and Buddhism would be secondary sources. The first is the original document, the second is the interpretation thereof. I'm currently writing a paper for school on alchemy using a lot of source texts, and the completed essay itself will be a secondary source.

Sorry I havn't posted in such a while ^^ I had to take a rather lengthy break from Gaia. As for my resource I've gone with the internet. I'm what some may say a 'noob' with just about anything spiritual yet just reading through this guild's forum always makes me so so curious, I'd just love to ask every single person what they mean and quiz everyone on everything ^^. I only ever really came into this when my brother once told me of a lucid dream experience where he described being in a place so beautiful he couldn't imagine it ever again in the same context, he said he wanted to go back and see it again and told me about Astral Projection. Since then I've looked over various AP sites and read literally thousands of pages of research and personal experiences but still to date I havn't had an OBE myself, I've had a fair few strange things happen but nothing like what he described. But I'd say that other than just idle chit chat between me and him, the internet is my only source of information for this topic 3nodding

I dunno if I supply the answers. But I stopped relying on books a long time ago. I don't think like Crowley, Neitzche or Oberon-Zell Ravenheart. And Damn it all, I'm proud of it.
