As you see in my signature, I have rules nine and ten listed, as when I tell people (after they ask) I am a Satanist, they usually make references to sacrifices and *****. But, after explaining to them and ignoring the smirks and such, I get to thinking about todays society and how common actions in jobs and parenting (both of which I plan to do in life) and corelation with those two rules make me think.
Number One: Rule Nine: Do not harm little children.
Mainly, disipline and punishment are my concerns here. Spanking, either with a hand, or for more severe things with a switch (long, thin, and flexible stick for all you city folk) or a belt, would inflict pain on said child. Does that count as harming him/her? or by that rule refer to injuring severly, such as broken bones and such?
Number Two: Rule Ten: Do not kill non-human animals unless you are attacked or for your food.
For my career, I plan to be a veternarian. With that job I am sure to deal with more than one abused animal. But that's a different story... I have had my fair share of pets that have fallen very ill and had to be put down. Here's my problem: Would putting the animal "to sleep" break rule ten, or would it bypass it through certain circumstances, that of being taking the animal out of it's misery when death is assured, no matter the treatment?

It's not harming your kids to teach them through punishment. How else are they to learn what is wrong? Harm for the sake of harm, on the other hand, is probably bad. I don't think it counts as killing. Give yourself some flex room here. It's a religion focused on the self.

Personally i would think not. You do not have evil intentions on putting the animal to sleep. I agree with Tarkanos as well.

On #1 - All for it. My momma wore my a** out, and in retrospect, I thank her for it. Most children, if not given a firm, authoritative, upbringing will end up screwy, IMO.
On #2 - I think euthanasia in the case of very sick, or wounded animals is justifiable by the fact that it relieves the animal of severe suffering.
