Heh.. My friend Ashley (bitter kitsune) found Gaia through one of her friend's art sites (I think deviantart maybe? Hafta ask her...) and anyway, at the time it was while she and I were living with my (now ex-bf) in that apartment... or was it before she moved in? I can't remember. Anyway she was on my computer at the time and I remember watching her make her little character and I thought it was SO CUTE. *feels so stupid now* I honestly knew d*ck about anime.. or forums.. at all.. when I joined. I just wanted a little character to dress up... but that all changed.. so much... so fast..
Once I got the hang of the forums I joined my first guild. The Hug and Glomping Guild.. (where I met Kyuu~!! xd heart ) I had no clue what a glomp was, but it was one of the first things I learned in Gaia. xd Then I joined the Divine Order of the Phoenix... (which I now own, if you didn't know o.0) where I met Dante Decker, Jahoclave, and Americo.. ^.^ The best online friends I could ask for.. *clings to them all* whee heart
So what's your story? How'd you come across Gaia? Why'd you join? ^.^

Gaia was actually my first forum 0: I joined because my ex told me too. I remember wanting to join the Gaian Army just so I would have a cool sig >w< Then I worked at a bar and I hit on Kyuu with my male account... XD

Lucifer ze Headless Teddy Gaia was actually my first forum 0: I joined because my ex told me too. I remember wanting to join the Gaian Army just so I would have a cool sig >w< Then I worked at a bar and I hit on Kyuu with my male account... XD A hee ho ho. None of my real life friends actually use gaia though D: That sucks.. I got almost everybody I know to join Gaia after I joined. xd My sister and my brother have been around nearly as long as I have.. probably belongs in this guild just as much, but I dunno if she even spends much time in Gaia these days.. >.>;;

gaia was my first online forum aswell. my friend (mahii) was existing on it a fair bit and being the follower that I am ( ninja ) I joined up too. I adored anime but hadnt seen much. infact that didnt really change untill expo this year, where I finally got exposed to more. I made the mistake of joining up with a guild almost right off the bat. 2 actually. the flame guild and...somthing else, I dont remeber what, that was competeing with yakuza (ha, that didnt last long). at the time Jamie was doing the banners for the flame guild, and thats how I met her 3nodding wanting to make myself useful I took over doing their banners from her (which quickly became alot more work than when she was doing it xp ), and finding her enjoyable company, stalked her to the original sex cave. couse 2 days later the whole talon/jamie/creater of sex cave thing occured and I found myself with an invitation to the retreat. I took a course in common sense at GU (best course I ever took xd ) and lived in the cave until some little girl started stalking me. I could not get her to leave me alone. so I vanished from gaia for months, existing parttime as my alter ego kiana in the GU dorms. wehen I came back I kept wondering what all these cool items that werent on the itemlist were and it actuially took me 2 months to figure out that gaia was giving donation items ^_^;; but now Im back and livin large. domokun

Faithy Livin large... xd I didn't understand the thing about donation letters until I think the end of September, mid-October.. First donation item I ever had I think was the mini wings.. Then Turg wanted me to join his. :O
And then I came up for the idea of having a 'YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY guild", but Turg said I couldn't join. -;_____;- So I was like..."Man, ******** that, yo" and quit. :O

gaia is my first forum too ^_^!
my bf knew about it even before it existed ( we are both into manga and animation...he is more into animation..downloading them alot, i tend to just read the mangas). He was so excited and he joined the day it was online..I was abit lazy..didn't join till like the 2nd say ( or a few days later ^_^)..
didn't get hooked up as much as he does ( he was one of the first few to do avatar edits)..but I enjoyed just clicking around, looking at the pics in the art arena. For awhile I was in the pic posting forum, posting some photography work I did. I got REAL hooked up when I clicked on the "Exchange" ..hehe..then it was 5 hours a day for me.. no matter how late I finish my school work, I will go on gaia at least for an hour before I sleep. Everytime I go to my bf's house, I will log him out and log myself in..(he gets mad..HAHA)..
I spend most of my halloween playing gaia and stressing out ( midterm the next day...but I couldn't resist Jack..)
ah~ gaia has been such a great deal for for me ( and still is..hehe...though I don't post much..haha)

lets see. Here's how it went down. Three friends and some eurotrash guy wouldn't stfu up about gaia. So I joined to see wtf they were talking about. THen I spent a shitload of time earning gold to buy those sunglasses. THen I wound up with the GCIA cause they made snassy images of you in a suit. Then I wound up with some people that eventually became famous. Ran into faithy (thankies for the compliments) and what not. Joined the DOP because of the whole library thingy. THen I got involved in some other little things. Was pretty much MIA during cross country. Came back, got even more involved in the writer's forum. And then wound up here, in this thread, posting my history of Gaia.
But now, I'm here, rich, somewhat famous, my friends, they quit, except matt (flame) but nobody likes him at all, and he only tries to get gold through screwing people.

Why did I join Gaia? Because Waruko (who I know IRL) would have kicked my a** if I didn't. xd
But really, it was him and Kitsune that told me about this place on separate occasions. And since I heard it was such a cool and fun place to be, I decided to check it out. I thought it would something fun to do for a month or two since my usual online hangouts were on the decline.
...and seventeen months later, I'm still here. ^_^

Let's see... Gaia's the fifth forum I've taken part in. The first four sorta died as the years went on. Kinda sad since they were cool. Anyway, I saw the link to Gaia Online posted on the blurty of a friend of mine and for a few weeks I just stared at the little pink image thinking: "I bet this is like some kinda funky Ragnarok board or something. >_>" XD Anyway, curiosity won out and I clicked the link, saw the little avatars (and the fact that it was free ninja ) and decided to join.
That's pretty much it. 3nodding
