The Vent thread is an area where you can vent your emotions. If you want to rant, go on and rant. You can post poetry, ask for advice, cry, laugh, or scream.
Think of it like an Agony Aunt crossed with Letters to the Editor crossed with a disgruntled blogger wink
Because of the heightened emotions you can expect here, there are slightly different rules. While we in Mixitupism try not to offend others, sometimes when venting you are going to offend someone, simply by nature of the venting. Likewise, at some point you may be offended. For example, someone may express their frustration at the actions of Christian parents, or something. Their words may overgeneralise and cause offence. Please understand that these words arise from strong emotion, and forgive.
Please be aware of this when coming into this thread, and if you feel that you might be upset or offended by something here, you can always choose not to read it. If you feel, after you have vented, that someone may be offended by your post, please edit it with a disclaimer at the beginning of your post (and in the title as well if possible).
Ripping on fundies is acceptable. Because fundies are universally unpleasant.
Rules may change here depending on how things go. Please be aware of that.

Why do people confuse discrimination with RACISM?
Like if someone is discriminated against over religion, people tend to insert "racism" there...What the hell? confused

Or prejudice vs. racism. They're related, but they're not the same. Just about everyone is prejudice, but that doesn't mean you're a bigot. This has always been difficult for people to understand. I just wonder if maybe they haven't actually ever looked up definitions.

Sanguina Cruenta Oh, and confusing discrimination with persecution. Seriously? Seriously. Go and watch Schindler's List, and then come back and b***h to me about how you're being totally persecuted. Speaking of Schindlers list, i hate when people compare Obama to Hitler..Obama is trying to ******** save people, not cause a genocide which kills 6 MILLION PEOPLE. In America we learn extensively about hte Holocaust and the general sufferage, death and just...inhumanity which happened. For them to take that time and compare that monster to Obama is...just...mind blowing. I swear...Some humans make me <******** sick. Excuse my language gonk

It's funny but we don't learn quite as much about WWII here. We sort of focus most of our war angst on WWI and Gallipoli. We were so far away from the actual slaughter so we focus on the soldiers we lost and stuff. Although I think we did take in some Jewish and Polish refugees during WWII. Unsure.

Excuse my language gonk Yeah, ideally everyone would visit a Holocaust museum. I knew a lot about the Holocaust before, but what was in the museum I visited blew me away.

I always want to get in on it, but then they -glare- at me when I try to say anything, but if I keep silent, they berate me for being so 'quiet'. I -love- talking about religion, so it always feels almost like a trap when they talk about it. Dx

I hate it when someone finds out my religion from somewhere, then proceeds to give me the "You poor thing!" look whenever they bring up Christianity (the dominant religion where I am).
