Yeah, so after some thinking I've decided I'm going to give up my Smash Bros. career. I'd like to thank everyone in this guild for snapping me out of this addiction. From now on I will no longer competitively play. From now on I throw all my matches and play for the sheer fun of it (likely to develop suicide contests in the future XP).
I suppose it was the arrogance of The Basement Dweller that got to me most out of all you people. Even when he claimed not to be competitive he reared up and beat upon his chest after "besting" me. Bravo. I mean you totally earned it right. But I'm not going to drag him down. Just like to inform him that he does have some problems that I'm simply suggesting that he work on.
But as for the rest..Yeah, you're kinda like minis of him. Some not so much a pain in the rear to talk to, and some competitive in the good way (not being sore winners and whatnot)...Anyways, as I've said, good bye, and thank you.
(I'm sure I've got some replies to answer here, but I say screw 'em.)

Well, for overcoming the addiction I give you credit. Thats something I couldn't do. I never really got to play you but, I'm sure you were a player worth facing.

Well, uh... It's probably best for everyone if they always play video games for the sake of having fun.
That's kinda the point, right?
Unfortunately, Smash Bros. seems to attract lots of really arrogant players who get defensive dangerously easily.
I guess it takes some people three generations of games to learn that playing that way saps the fun away like a leech. And leeches are pretty gross. D:

(I'm sure I've got some replies to answer here, but I say screw 'em.) Actually you asked me what I thought about you're playing so I was simply honest. rolleyes Let's not forget whom it was that was questioning my credentials to begin with anyway. When you get 3 or 4 stocked on a regular basis it's hard to think of that person as competitive unless they actually try and get better, so you saying you're giving up you're "competitive" career is pretty empty since you simply never tried and expected things to come to you apparently. Go ahead call me arrogant it doesn't bother me at all, however being honest when asked and simply being arrogant are two entirely different things. On top of that it really depends on ones interpretation of what is said regardless of it's intent. The truth hurts when you don't want to hear it, so if you want to write it off as my being arrogant more power to ya, but if you want to test my claim as to your skill level I'd be more than happy to refer you to some people that will play you and tell you pretty much the same thing in not so blunt a manner. Now if you want me to be arrogant about it I can be. What do you want me to say "I'm better than you and I know it, you're not worth the time it takes to play the match, or how about I'd be better off playing a computer."? Does that make you feel any better now? @Cameo If you played him I'd wager you by 2-3 stock.

If he's insecure enough that he needs to put others down to make himself feel good then let him do it to his hearts content. There are plenty of people who are better than him, and much much nicer. You can find them in the forums, there's always someone looking for a good match. And after that, ask them for some advice, see what they see as flaws in your play style and work on that aspect. Once you fix that problem, move on to the next. Maybe you'll be able to beat him eventually, I just hope when that day comes you haven't turned into a jerk like him 3nodding

I've had to request numerous times that he not use name calling in his posts. Each time was unsolicited and my requests never stopped him from using them again. Regardless of what language they might have been in, real or fictional, name calling is still rude. These "I'm leaving, woah is me" threads are (usually) silly and pointless. He wasn't targeted by someone, I doubt BasementDweller stalked him unsolicited, and the majority of BasementDweller's arguments, those that I saw before my short break from the guild, with Firin weren't insulting only in disagreement. He's just looking for attention and pity. He'll get neither from me.

The only thing I know, from experience, is that BasementDweller can be pretty unkind in things he says, and for no apparent reason sometimes.

This is rediculous that people are still responding. Locked, becuase he's not that important and it's off topic now anyway.
Also Cody I never claimed to be nice so build yourself a bridge and get over it.
