Once again, Summer vacation is here and those of us mommies who have kids in school will have their free time bombarded with the kids wanting something to do..... So if you have a fun summer outing or craft or game that you do with your kids please share with the rest of us...

I think one of the most economical and fun things to do is buy a family pass at your local zoo or amusement park then you can go whenever you want. Just pack a picnic lunch and go... I prefer the Zoo cause that works for all ages.. not to mention the photo ops available. As long as you pack a picnic and not go for their food their you won't go broke everytime. Amd you can always let your kids do small chores around the house to earn some spending money for when they are at the zoo... Because we all know they always want to get a souvenier from the zoo... OH yeah when you buy that membership, it often gets you discounts at other Zoos throughout the states so if you take a vacation chances are you can get a discount on the admission at zoo in the area. mrgreen

Well, there is not much to do in our town for really young children. (Hannah and lilly will be 3 in August!) So, we are going on a little trip to Chattanooga, Tennessee. I'm excited b/c they have a zoo and aquarium and a discovery museum. Lots of fun! We leave Monday!!! 4laugh

My DD is just turned 11 months so we don't do THAT much in the way outings.
We do have an AZA zoo here as well. I have a membership there too. I used to be a volunteer when I was a teen so it holds a place in my heart. We just go so I can walk a bit. my DD loves watching the elephants though. They are the only animal she has laughed at so far. It gets really hot here in the summer (i.e. today we are expected to hit a high of 106F! 108F is the record however.) so its more of a spring thing.
Lately we have been hitting the malls. All the malls here have a great indoor playgrounds. It very padded so I don't have to worry about her hurting herself when she walks around. She is still very wobbly and still falls most of the time. She mostly like to chase after the bigger kids. It's cute to watch.
