 For those who don't know me as well, I've been a regular in Pride Lands since the beginning of 2006. From that day on, it seems as though Pride Lands has been the only breedable shop I have ever revisited to talk, role play, and collect more pets. So far, 4 years later, it continues to stay that way! Although Pride Lands has its quirks and drama, it's the concept and most of the regulars that keep me coming back. Name: Kelsey

About: Because this thread isn't about me, I won't go into much detail. Basically, I love all things Halo, wolves, the sky, and other various video games/guy things. I've been playing video games since I was 1 1/2 with my Dad and have loved them ever since. I've also been a tomboy my entire life and never really hung around girls. I'm generally easy to get along with as long as you're nice to me; otherwise, I can be quite the enemy. I am VERY passionate about my work here and try my best when coloring/managing the shop. It's not easy, but I've been doing it for a year now and loving it. I have quite the obsession with the sky, both night and day (if you couldn't already tell with all my lions). With sky blue being my favorite color, I have a fascination with the clouds, stars, moon, etc. I've always wanted to fly ever since I was a little girl, so it must have something to do with that. Aside from that I have always had a passion for wolves. Something about them has always struck my interest and love ever since I was 4 or 5. In fact, I created a website to promote awareness n the misunderstood creatures and it's gone pretty far. I love to draw and color in Photoshop. I've been drawing almost as long as I have been playing video games. As for activities, I enjoy playing football, hockey, manhunt, and other crazy games with my buddies. My two best friends are Chris and Matt, I'm sure they will come up in almost all my posts XD. I love swimming, I'm part fish/otter XP. There are a lot more things that I enjoy, but I'm sure you're getting bored now so I'll shut up lol.
Tip: if your couple is patterned with the sky, you'll probably get what you want out of the breeding if you bring them to me >D Be warned, however - I may or may not try to steal them for myself >>; Either that, or they'll be covered in drool when they're born.  This is where I will be keeping track of all important dates. I'll be trying my best to keep it up-do-date, but I can't promise anything because I'm always extremely busy. It is mostly for my use, but I will also post things such as vacations, hiatuses, and closure of journal for certain events. So keep an eye out every-so-often.
March 31, 2009 . Finished the re-vamp! All of the rules and breeding information should be fully up-to-date, so be sure to read them over the next time you stop in for some luve makin'!
March 24, 2009 . Along with the revamp of my breeding corner, I will be updating all of the rules to make sure they are clearly understood!
August 2008 . was given the position of manager of Pride Lands to help Ushi while she's not around and run various parts of the shop.
June 04, 2008 . was given the title "colorist" by Ushi and started to set up custom journal

March 20, 2009 . finally revamped my journal to add the new rules and changes needed for breedings. Doing fairly well in catching up with growings - I'm currently on the second round since the last time I posted them. Just grew the flatsale cubs from the Halloween and V-day event. Certs I'm missing will be coming as soon as possible.

 These rules are to be followed and never broken/manipulated! Severe punishment will be dealt if I see or find out you're breaking my rules - they are here for a reason.
I do not take bribes! Ever! For one, they are against the rules and for two, I don't think they are at all fair. Do not ask me to do bribes because I will not accept; no ifs, ands, or butts!
I will NOT allow people to PM me with custom forms or anything. If it's a present for someone, then you MUST post that you are PMing me before messaging me the form
Breedings are not customs! This means that you may NOT dictate how your cubs should come out; that's my job and my job only. This also includes suggestions - do not hint, ask, or even think about suggesting markings or edits, I will be extremely upset
Please respect what I have to say. I don't say things only for them to be ignored or disregarded.
Both lions must be an adult in order to breed
Related lions cannot breed with one another
If you have a same sex couple that want cubbies of their own, a donor must pitch in (a female for eggs or a male for sperm). More about this process will be explained in the next post
Cubbies may be kept or given away, but they cannot be sold! This is not only against my rules, but Pride Lands rules as well
I have a right to decline your breeding request. This usually happens when you're one that never even comes by Pride Lands to say hi, or you barely make an appearance. Show me that you're interested in your lions and the shop and I'll breed for you
I am not fond of OOC breedings. This means that OOC slots won't open very often because I just don't like the fact people are breeding for looks. Breeding should be for role playing purposes, in my opinion
Unless you want something to be private, please post all questions and requests here. I like to keep things organized and I tend to get very busy at times so I can forget. My PM box gets filled up pretty quickly and Gaia loves eating my messages, so keep that in mind before messaging me.
When paying, please try to pay in pure. If this means having to sell items before sending the trade, then please do so. I fear for my account very often and I also have no need for items

 If you are new to Pride Lands or myself as a colorist, please take a look at the following information. I will explain some of the more complicated things the involve breedings, list prices, etc.
A normal breeding consists of one male and one female
Both lions must be adults in order to breed. The only exception for this is where a colorists creates an adult lion on lines of a different stage
Normal lions can only breed three times a month
Lions must not be related, incest in Pride Lands isn't allowed, sorry
A normal breeding with required role plays will result in three to possibly four cubs, while normal breedings without role plays will result in two, rarely three
Normal and rare coupling will have the same cubs results as a normal and normal coupling (depending on role play)
The colorists does not determine the gender of your cubs or how many you get, the dice does
A normal breeding costs 10k, which is 5k per owner (unless one is willing to pay for it all)
As stated in the rules, same sex breedings require an donor in order to have cubs. If you're having two males breed, then you need a female; if you are having two females breed, then you need a male
Donors can either be from you or your lion's mate's owners, or a completely different outside source. However, approval from the owner must be posted here in this thread in order for me to give the okay
To ensure that your couple's cubs have their genes, there is a certain process taken (more detailed if you really want to know). For a female x female breeding, egg slicing will occur so the cubs will have both females' DNA. For male x male breeding, the egg will be fertilized by both males' sperm so both their DNA is within the litter. Keep in mind, however, that the donors genes will also be apparent within the cubs (markings or colors)
Approval is needed from all owners and the breeding price is still the same

Rares may not claim a breeding slot unless stated otherwise
Rares may get a slot through special events, raffles, auctions, or if I state that I am opening up rare slots
Rares can only breed once every two months (per person, not per lion)
A rare breeding costs 20k - this includes a rare and normal coupling!
Rare breedings will result in two cubs, but if role played, there's a rare chance they'll get three
Cosplays can only breed once a month
A cosplay breeding costs 15-20k depending on the colorist and their edits

 Here you will find how many slots are available, the types on slots you can claim, whether or not they are open, current litters, and past litters. Please remember that if a slot does not say "open, then it's not available for taking.
In recent events, the staff of pride lands has decided to implement role play required breeding slots to minimize the frequency of OOC breedings
Role play required slots will always result in three cubs, with a slight chance at getting a fourth!
These slots require a minimum of three role plays that involve both of your breeding lions. I would like these to be well thought out plots and Role plays
I will no longer accept MSN or AIM role plays from now on. If you have previously discussed something about them with me in the past, than my word still stands. However, do not submit instant messaging role plays and think they will count as one of the required RPs - they won't. Why? Because role playing is supposed to be done within the shop and related guilds, not MSN. I cannot trust everyone anymore, so God know how much you're changing things around or throwing things together. No.
I will,however, except them as back up RP's in addition to 3 others, if there is a borderline decision on if they should have an RP or OOC slot
I will NOT except an RP with adult content, or large blocks chopped out to make it PG. Mature content like that is against Gaia's rules anyway, so they're against Pride Lands' as well
I am going to do the same as Odet in this case - for now, I will only do cosplay breedings if they claim an RP required slot. Like Odet, I feel as though certain people are breeding cosplays just for their edits/similarities to their cosplay parents instead of for role playing purposes
I have the right to turn down any role plays that I feel are unacceptable for this type of slot. After all, you are getting three cubs, so proper requirements should be provided
At least one of the RPs need to prove that there is an effective connection between the breeding pair that could result into cubs, while the rest of the role plays are to prove that they are, in fact, role played

I don't like OOC breedings unless they are meant to serve a purpose, which is never really the case. However, I won't neglect to open these slots
These slots will always result in two cubs, with a very slight chance at a third.
A fourth cub will never be rolled for
These sots do not require any role plays between your breeding pair
If you acquire a non-role play required slot, but have the required role plays, you will still only get the 2, possibly 3 cubs. We will not bend the rules, sorry
Cosplays MAY claim one of these slots, but they still need the role plays like it were a RPR slot

 What's this? Hyena, cheetah, and familiar breeding? You heard me, Pride Lands is now offering sub species breedings for your other pets from the shop! They work just like regular breedings with lions, but with some perks and need-to-know facts. More about each species and their gestation/birth can be found below.
To breed hyenas, a minimum of two role plays are required! Hyenas will only be bred for role playing purposes unless stated otherwise
Only adult hyenas may breed with one another
As of now, there is only male and female breeding
A hyena breeding costs 10k, which is 5k per owner (unless one agrees to paying for the whole thing)
A hyena female usually gives birth to two pups
Breeding hyenas must not be related
Hyenas can breed two times a month
A cosplay hyena counts towards a rare breeding, which for hyenas, is 15k
You may choose the gender of your hyenas' ppups seeing as how there is a universal pup stage

 Familiars are the little critter companions for your lions. They can play extremely important roles in prides, breedings, or just regular role play. Because they, too, are a species in Pride Lands, we've decided that breeding them for role playing purposes will be allowed!
Familiars may only breed for role playing purposes. This means that you need at least two role plays between the breeding pair!
There are no egg or baby stages for mice/hornbills
Familiar breeding costs 6k
As of now, there is only male and female breeding
Related familiars cannot mate

Mice can have litters with up to 20 babies, but the average is 8-12. Because that's absolutely insane, we made it so the maximum amount of babies one can have is six
The number of mice will be determined by the dice, but you are allowed to choose their genders
You may give your mice away, hold contests for them, or split them up between the owners. However, you may NOT sell them in any way, shape, or form
Mice and their offspring are fully role playable in both prides, their own thread in the guild, or out in the main thread
H o r n b i l l s
