I've somewhat noticed that our Guild is based on random threads and small talk. The only place that really holds a long discussion is the public blog, so I thought if we created an Extended Discussion thread it could help solve problems or help people debate in a more serious atmosphere (not that the public blog isn't serious, but we want to keep that place a bit happy! XD)
So here if you want to have a longer, more indepth convo on things be my guest!
Examples would be like who to vote for, where to live, financial problems, or things even about gaia's crookery on jacking up prices in the marketplace, the problem with societies and the forums...etc.

This is a really good idea. I think there should also be a thread called "Random Crap" because it is INSANELY annoying having so many people make the most pointless threads just to make an anouncement. It just clutters up the place.

Anyway, I have the first topic since it's been peeving me everytime I go to the marketplace!!!
WHY are prices so freaking high? I normally buy a sealed for a somewhat low price (though it isn't as amazing as when everything was around 6k) and found that the prices have skyrocketed into the heavens. Seriously. The sealed letters are almost in the 30k's when they used to be around 17k.
Where's the inflation coming from? And I thought Gaia was trying to break down on the inflation rate? Why's it not working at all?

That's a good question. I don't know why the inflation keeps up, I guess what they're trying to do to fix it isn't working. ><

Its because they have Gaia cash now. That is the root of the problem.
Think of it as this. Since there is so much gold coming in, people are obviously going to be greedy and price things at higher prices, because they know thay people are getting cash. It really sucks for the ones that make the gold the old fashioned way, because the reward for posting/voting etc.. is still the same. If they began to reward more than just "You got 50 gold for posting in the forum" then I think it might begin to shape up.

Don- I think part of it is the 2% taken off. People are princin' stuff higher to make up for the gold lost. It may not be a big deal on like a 50 gold item but on the rarer items you're losin' more. Now if you sell somethin' for 30k and you lose like 2000 (ugh I'm tired can't do mental math @_@) that may not seem like much, but people are greedy now a days...
1) How about getting Gaia Cash. They said they were goin' to have events where they awarded Gaia Cash. I have not seen any events for this. I know you can buy it with REAL money, but... Who has that?
Okay so I do have money, -for now- I'm usually broke.
2) What happened to easy quests? Going into theater, minimizing the window and turnin' off the sound. Now you have to stroll around some weird towns place to talk to some guy you can't even find! And if you do find him, you can't talk to him! You go up to him click, and NOTHING! I mean I know that free items weren't that cool, but free items are free items. Especiall. with prices on Gaia today, like Don said,

Yeah, I noticed that too when I bought my Elemental Wings. The price for the letters used to be a lot cheaper than the actual items, but they were the same price. But economics is one thing I doubt I will ever understand, whether in real life or on Gaia. sweatdrop The math, it kills my brain. x___x

Yeah, I think Yay!Kurai and Anime are both right. Most of the time it's just easier to spend the damn money than to try to save up gold for it. And since people spent real money, when they resell stuff in the MP they're going to want a lot of gold for it.

I just can't see myself wasting money to get more gold. X___X
And I used to love getting the letters every month because it was like...a hidden present.
But I wonder if it's even worth it now.
I think the 2% think IS a real problem, along with the real cash.
But I ALSO think that possibly it has to do with the fact that they keep making it EASY for people to get more gold.
When posts used to grant you only like...2 gold or 1 gold and polls only 10, things were really low priced. Then they up'd it (by demand) and everything went up higher.
I think Gaia and its users kind of screwed themselves X__X

Yeah, I hate the Cash Shop crap. I mean seriously, this site used to be practically free aside from the Donation Items. It's lame. I don't even care for any of the items half the time. If I do I'll sell tickets or something.
I couldn't imagine wasting money on gold. I mean, yeah Gaia is like the one site go on. But still.
They should award you more gold for posting and stuff just to make up for it.

Yeah, when the Cash Shop started up I was really irritated by it too. I liked having the donation items as the only things that cost actual money. The only thing I've gotten from the Cash Shop was with the free Gaia cash they gave everyone. XD
