I keep wanting to cut. I know I will give in again, but my scars are really starting to pile up on my body. I have cream that does make them fade, but it's the summer now, and I don't like to wear shorts or anything now because you can see them, where as you can't if i'm wearing pants or socks. I'm not ashamed of my scars, but it is the first thing people look at. And they usually they i'm emo or something. And it's become more of a habit really, like, I don't relaly NEED to cut, I just do. Almost like a hobby.

Please try to control the urge to cut!!! It seems to help at the time but in the long run it doesn't.
I had to have surgery when I was 4, and it left me with 2 two inch scars on my leg. I was never ashamed of them, very conscious of them when I was wearing shorts. I was more aware of them than anyone else was, so go ahead and wear your summer clothes. If people look at your scars, SO WHAT! They have no idea where they came from or why. Be proud that you are still around and wearing your battle scars, because that is what they are. They show the battle that you have been having with yourself for years and you are succeeding in the battle. You are still battling on and I am proud that you are still continuing the battle. It's not easy and no one can tell you that it is. You have to decide.
If you don't need to cut and it has just become a habit, try to start a new habit. Please try not to continue this habit. Remember that we are all here for you and that we can attest to the fact that fighting a mental illness is a battle that we all have. It is also one of the hardest, because there is nothing to see to fight.

I do agree that I need a new "hobby" but it's just so hard to give up. I havne't cut in a long time now, but it seems that I always go back to it. And i'm a very stubborn person, so even though I know that I need to find something else, I usually don't.
And I hate when people ask me what they are from. They are in such a way that it's obvious what they are. People don't really ask me anymore though, mostly because they are just above my ankles, and people don't tend to look there.
