CAUTION: These treats are addictive, as I have seen and done you can not just have one of them. So do not make these if you or anyone in your house is on a diet because no one will lose any weight with this!
This is a recipe I made in Home Economic when I was in 7th grade and I unfortunately lost the recipe so I looked online to see if I could find it and unfortunately I couldn't but I found some very similar ones and I tweaked them to use the ingredients and methods I remembering doing in Home Ec.
Apple Dumplings
Ingredients: 1 large apple (or two small ones) 1 can of crescent rolls (it should have 8 ) 1 cup of orange juice 1 tsp of cinnamon 3/4 cup of sugar
First preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
Get a baking dish that will hold of the dumplings, I used a 9"x13" baking dish.
If you're using 2 small apples then you'll want to cut each one in quarter and core them, if you're using the large apple then you're going to cut it into eight pieces and core it. Peeling the apple skin off is optional but I prefer the skin so I left it.
Next you're going to mix the sugar and cinnamon into a bowl until it's combine
Then you're going to dip each apple piece into the cinnamon sugar mixture until it has a coating of it on the exposed sides.
After you dip an apple piece into the cinnamon sugar mix, you're going to take a crescent roll and roll wrap it around the apple and place it in the baking dish.
Once all the apple pieces are dipped and wrapped, take the leftover cinnamon sugar mixture and pour it all over the apple dumplings in the baking dish, don't worry about the pile high sugar mix over the dumplings
Now take the cup of orange juice and pour it over the dumplings. This will take off the excess sugar mix and will have them cook nicely.
Place them in the oven for 25-30 minutes As tempting as it is to eat right away, let them cool down for at least 5 minutes when they're done. Spoon some of the syrup from the baking dish on them when you serve these delicious treats!
