Some of us have been fans for years, and some are new to the series...
but I'd love to ask you all the same question:

How have your views on the characters and the series changed since you first got into it?

I know my own views on characters relationships, etc have changed drastically over long periods of time, I can see that just by looking back and old posts and thinking "I said that? O_o"

So what has changed in your mind since you started watching/reading?

Epic question Suni, but like Gorenza I'll have to let my thoughts collect first before writing.

I don't think it changed very much for me. maybe it changed my views for Seras Victoria and Alucard. Now I think Seras is a total BAMF, and the more I saw Alucard further on, he became more of the monster in which was a huge flip for me seeing that he was practically a pimp and a gentleman ealier in the series. I guess we can now see how powerful he really is and it personally put fear into my soul. Those were the changes for me.

My views on the series didnt really change much. The only thing that really changed were my thoughts on Seres. At first i thought she was just an annoying wimp but as the story progressed i saw that she can kick serious nazi a**.

My views on the author changed though. I think hes really a lazy pervert. (this is based on the other work hes published ninja ) I mean i like Hirano and all but im getting annoyed with the slowness. gonk

I can agree with that Seras has taken on a much stronger role then previously.
You know who else I began to respect more with the new version.
Intergra. She gets out into the field a lot more then the previous anime.

90 percent of the man's work is hentai, so yeah, he's a self-proclaimed slacker otaku pervert who once said in an interview if she were real he'd try to feel up seras, and probably get killed for it, but he'd die happy.

He's also proclaimed a love for gundam, rape-based nazi hentai, angelina jolie naked, and nami from one-piece, who he also mentioned wanting to cop a feel on, so yeah, pervert.

I don't know what to say...
erm...
well... my thoughts towards Alucard hava changed... now I feel... pity towards him, for all the obvious reason when you go further on the manga...
Integra... kind of the same feeling as Alucard... why? Because at the beggining I thought she was strong and all, not saying that she is not, but she felt forced to be like tat, and she still is... nevertheless I respect the woman. Her charisma amazes me neutral xd
Seras... well... I see how she deserves her place as a Vampire (Draculina) now xd
Walter... I will always love him no matter what! xd He is just awesome xp
Anderson... I've always liked him, but I began to love him for what he did at one of the last chapters, with Enrico domokun

When I first saw the anime, I liked it a lot, but something was missing...
Until I saw the second OVA by accident (I downloaded it believing it was the Mission 2 of the anime) and began to love how they were really like!
later I started to read the manga until a few weeks ago when I finished chapter 91... and now I'm thrilled and very involved with this series that has so many varieties in it!

ok I'll stop now...
if anything is obscure... I'm sorry for my spelling gonk

((so much for not knowing what to say huh? xd ))

My views haven't really changed much from when picked up the series a year and a half ago.

I still think Alucard is THE sex god.
Hirano is a pervert.
The manga, anime, and OVA are bloodyriffic.
Integra is a cold hearted woman who can kick a**.
Walter can kick a**.
Seras kicks a**... With a rocket launcher.
And for some reason Anderson sounded better with the Irish accent.

okay...my views about Walter have definitely changed. I am re-watching OVA 3 and noticed that Walter had hid info from Alucard! When Alucard said that they killed every Nazi they saw, Walter had hesitated...HE KNEW about "Her" knowing that they did NOT kill every Nazi. Walter is still kinda cool as a character but still; hiding relevant info from his ,what seems like, best friend was low. Unless, Walter knew that "she" really is more powerful than Alucard and trying to protect him, knowing Alucard would no doubt fight anything that is labeled to be more powerful than him. I don't know Walter is messing me up,man.

I feel bad that Alucard was set up in a trap he couldn't get out of.
I honestly do believe that Integra's uncle was also on the Nazi side since he called Integra his "little fraulein". I wonder what's going to happen in the Dawn to make all this make sense. confused

My opinions between now and when I first started watching the series have changed dramatically.

-Alucard, for instance, has officially been kicked off my favorite's list. domokun He used to be my single favorite character, but after seeing the Dandy's gruesome death in OVA 3 he got demoted to second favorite after Seras and Integra. mad Then after watching Rip's gruesome torture in OVA 4 (I swear it's so different on screen than on paper) he was kicked off the favorite's list altogether. stressed

Yes, my view of Alucard definitely has changed the most. At the beginning I was fooled by outward appearance and thought him to be this strong, tall, dark, handsome, dashing, almost gentlemanly "not human" (to quote OA Seras) being. Now I see him as more of the pitiful, miserable, childlike monster that he really is. burning_eyes

-My view of Seras hasn't changed at all since the beginning. I still think she's awesome. 3nodding I always thought so, and I used to feel so left out when people criticized her for not drinking blood. sad But now that she has, and has gotten stronger and more useful in combat, people are starting to respect her more, so now I'm happy. mrgreen

-Integra: Nothing much has changed here either. I like her, I respect her, I admire her, I use her as one of those few female role-modally type images in my head (hey, I need some form of inner confidence when I sign up for auditions). So I am content.

Nothing much else to report.

So people tend to dislike Alucard more and more as the story progresses?
nice xp

I started liking Alucard more. XD
I mean, I always thought he was awesome.... and I did hate him for awhile after he brutally ate Rip...

but around volume 8 my interest in him was revived.

I think my main changes thought have been the nature of Alucard and Integra's relationship... my views on AxI would have been totally OOC when I first joined the fandom... I also used to support the idea of Seras having an unrequited thing for Alucard, back when I watched the OA....
Then again, it is rather possible in the OA....
