Anyone else here have a fascination with the Steampunk style?

There's just something alluring about all the gears and brass. ^^

*sighs*

I have never seen anything like that or the creativity behind it! It's definitely very cool...

I've always been a fan of the whole style. Back then, form and function were both considered necessary traits. These days everything is lifeless plastic.

You get whole ranges of things, from rings; to jewelry; to computers, right through to things like motorbikes and guitars.

And, to be honest, what's better than the sight of precision clockworks, when you know they were made by hand, unlike the computer engineered items of now?

yes plastic does make things more lifeless, like it takes away an objects 'personality' or something.

Got bored, and ordered a few old watch movements of the internet. Gonna see what I can do with them. ^^

Steampunk is definitly an artform that has long been lost in this here technilogical age where most everything is plastic or some processed metal crap! I takes getting used to, but if you think about it, this movement is nothing more than a reawakening of an old art that is still used in the smallest of accessories: a watch. I love this movement and hope to see more from it...it not only looks cool, but it is definitly good for the environment!!!
