Long time no see! School work had me caught up in the last few months so I haven't been posting. But some of that work includes photography! So now that summer is here I can post it! biggrin
This is our most recent project before school ended, which was fashion. So I got my friends (actually, only two could make it, I would've had five if other things hadn't come up) together and I took pictures of thems! XD
I'm sorry if the quality isn't the best, that's partly because of photobucket and partly because I used a five-ish year old A70 Canon Powershot with a broken sensor that is being sent for repairs right now.
I also realize that I'm a total photoshop whore, I'm sorry. But's it's just so much fun! crying
This is just a few of the some 300 pictures I took that day. There's a few more on my deviantArt.
Critique please!

I love the lighting in this one, nice pretty evening light.

Graffitti rocks. Mushrooms rock. Graffitti Mushrooms rock my world!

I actually kept the photoshop to this one at a minimum. The original was already good enough! X3

i think you have two problems you need to work on.

#1: which angles work and look good, and which ones don't. in all these, i think you should bend your knees a bit more to get on their level, instead of looking down on them. the two pics where your models are sitting would have had much more attitude and power in them if you used a lower perspective, and i think the first one of your pics would look so much better if you went down on the ground. as for the mushroom graffiti pic, take a good look at her neck and jawline. it's not very flattering.

#2: try to work on different parts of the image when adding contrast etc, instead of adding it to the whole picture. it's especially important in the first picture. the highlights are blown out, and the shadows are too dark.

besides that, i don't se much fashion in these. they're more snapshots of friends. that's nice, of course, but as your project was fashion, maybe you should have spent some more time thinking about what fashion photography really -is-?

..that was a lot of critique, huh. xD i have some nice things to say too, though, i just saved it for last. i like the coloring in all of them, except for the first one (where i think the contrast kinda ruins the colors too), and you seem to connect well to the people you photograph. it's usually easier with people you know, though, but it's still a challenge to make people look quite comfortable in front of the lens. :]

mmm, thanks for the crits! Angles are definately something for me to work on in the future.

As for the whole fashionesque thing, we were never given much definition on what was 'fashion' photography, just examples.
