Doku had been walking through the forest for some time, When he noticed a tree what looked like it's own ecosystem. He had really never seen anything like it. "Wow" Doko decided to climb into the tree and get a closer look. He had always loved plants but his green thumbs seemed like plant poison. He jumped to a higher branch and looked at a collection of mushrooms "how cute!"

Bonsai was currently napping within the shade of hanging plants -- a nice, botanical curtain of sorts. That was when he heard the voice of another, and the male's ears perked up at the sound. It didn't take long for him to stir, his head poking out through the curtain of plants to peer down at the newcomer. He didn't look surprised, either. There was always a tokoro or two who stopped by his conspicuous, decorative home.
"Oh, careful," Bonsai warned, but his tone wasn't reprimanding nor unfriendly. He was calm as he climbed carefully down the tree to Doku's level, settling down beside him. "Lovely, aren't they? I discovered them a while ago."
"Anyway, have I met you before? I think I'm better at recognizing plants than a face."

Doku heard a voice and looked up seeing Bonsai climb down towards him. He had been fascinated with the mushrooms but couldn't take his eyes off of Bonsai. "Yes lovely...oh I don't believe I've ever seen you before, I'm sure I would have recognized you right away."
Realizing he was staring he quickly turned but to the Mushrooms. "Most of these mushrooms are poisonous if eaten but they are lovely to look at." He gazed around seeing many unsusal plants in the tree. "Did you grow all of this plants here...um I just realized I didn't get your name. I'm Doku"

"Mm, indeed. The more beautiful they are, the more poisonous -- at least, for most of them."
Bonsai shook his head, smiling slightly. "I've transferred some of these plants from various locations to my tree, here, but I'm hoping to have an apothecary of sorts some day. It might be a nice living, and there'd be more interaction between myself and others."
"My name's Bonsai -- pleasure to meet you, Doku. I'm more used to people approach me, instead of approaching them... I can't help but be a little shy."

"It is really nice to meet you Bonsai, I hope I wasn't intruding, but beautiful things catch my eyes and my body just follows after." he said blushing a bit while looking at Bonsai but his dark fur hid it well. "Perhaps you can show me how you do it. ...I mean the process of plant Transfers. it must be really hard to keep them undamaged in the move, you must have a light touch. I'd probably be far to rough." He said blushing again, "I mean with the plants of course."
He looked away at the tree again, something about looking bonsai in the eye made him feel flustered and unsure of himself.
The wind was blowing through the tree now, making all the plants sway back and forth as if dancing.

"Intruding? Ah, I don't mind, I'm used to it. I'd get the occasional kid who thinks my home is a playground, but aside from that..."
Bonsai's lips remained fixed into that smile of his, but took a refreshing breath when the breeze blew by.
"I try to be careful when I do plant transfers. I remove it from the ground, or whatever it is attached to, along with the dirt that the roots are embedded in, then place it into one of my carrying pouches."
His smile softened. "Plants.. it's a passion I got from my mother."
"Anyway! Would you like to join me for lunch?"

"I would love to join you!" he said practically jumping at the opportunity to spend more time with him. There was defiantly something about Bonsai that Doku was drawn to, he had always liked both boys and girls secretly, never acted on any of his crushes. But Doku instinctively knew, or at least deeply hoped, that Bonsai was the same. He was really fighting the urges he had to just lean in close and steal a kiss.
He had to wait till he knew more. If he wasn't that way then he would still love to be friends, and didn't want to lose that.
"I wish I had something to offer. Perhaps I can lend a hand if you need it"

Bonsai looked pleased, but then he gave the fellow tokoro an apologetic smile. "I'm glad -- it's nice to have company that would stay more than five minutes, for once. I didn't even consider that you might be busy. You're not busy, are you?"
His ears drooped slightly, almost timidly, and there was a hopeful look upon his face. Doku appeared to be eager enough, but he wanted to make sure.
"Mm, don't worry about it. You're my guest, and I'm treating you. I happen to have a variety of fruit, and I've been wanting to have a meal with someone."
He beamed. "You can tell me all about yourself! Your hobbies, your affinities.."

Doku happily followed Bonsai, "I had no plans today, I just happened to pass your tree and was pleasantly surprised, And I would be more then happy and extremely gracious to have lunch with you." Doku was rather hungry, and hearing about his large stock of fruit only made his hunger grow.
But as Bonsai asked his last question. Doku stopped in his tracks....should he tell the truth and risk push this new guy away before he even knew him. He quickly thought over the consequence and decided to tell the truth without telling to much. After all he want Bonsai to like the real him not something made up.
"Well," He started slowly "I don't really think I'm very interesting, I like to wake up when the dew is still fresh on the plants. I take long walks through the forest alone, and just think about life. My only friend is my fem neighbor that grew up with me. I enjoy swimming at night or in the morning. Oh I don't know what else to say.....I guess I like to collect feathers." He lowered his head. "I know, that all sounds kinda lame, but that is honestly me, I never really was like the guys that went hunting birds, or went to fight with the other packs. And they never liked me either." He slowly lifted his head back up hopeful that Bonsai would still accept him.

"Oh, splendid. Today happens to be my lucky day~" Bonsai led him to one of the high branches of his tree, where there was a bundle of fruit that rested against the trunk, cradled in leaves. He reached out for a reddish green mango, taking a bite out of it. "Help yourself," he added happily.
When Doku explained his usual and favorite activities, Bonsai remained content. It's been a while since he truly felt at peace while having company. He was usually shy, or paranoid, even. He blushed slightly, thinking about it.
"You know, I don't do that, either. My diet is strictly fruit, and I was never raised to fight. Nothing wrong with not being like the other men. I prefer more peaceful company to the tough and rowdy.. I remember a pack fight occurred close to my tree, here. I was deathly afraid that I would get dragged into it, so I hid.. My father never really accepted me since I was so 'dainty'."

"I would never think of you as dainty, you are quiet the handsome fellow, you must have girls visiting your garden retreat all the time, I love your tree." As Doku said the statement about the girls he hoped he was wrong, but he wanted to hear about it from Bonsai. "Why don't you tell me more about your self."
Doku reached for a mango and took a bite. It was perfect, the soft juicy flesh of the fruit practically melted in his mouth. "Oh wow, it's so good. I don't think I've had one of these before." He excitedly ate the rest of it and reached for a second but stopped before taking a bite. "Is it okay to have a second?"

"I think the females who come here are more attracted to the flowers than to me," Bonsai said, followed by a small laugh. "Either that, or they already have mates. Come to think of it, I've never been worried about females. I suppose I really am too preoccupied with plants."
He couldn't help but watch as Doku tried one of the mangoes, and smiled broadly when he liked it. "Have as much as you like. I was afraid that I'd have to eat these on my own, and I don't think I can finish them all in time before the ripen too much."
"Mm.. I like mornings. I would sometimes sit down and watch some of my flowers bloom while eating breakfast. Higher up in my tree, there's a bird's nest on one of the branches. The little birds just hatched, and it's nice to listen to them chirp about. Umm.. I like to go swimming in the nearby lake, but try not to stay out too long. There are a group of children that have the tendency to steal some of my goods while I'm out, but that's what I get for living by myself."

"I'm attracted to you." he said quickly covering his mouth, he had let his secret out, he had to fess up or cover up.'it's better not to lie.' He lowered his paw and looked at Bonsai earnestly with ears lowered. "When I said I wasn't like normal guys I meant it.....and a little more, I'm bi." Doku sat down the mango he was about to eat, "and the real reason I was walking through this part of the forest was I was looking for a tree to live in, with my kids." Doku lowered his head he couldn't meet Bonsai's gaze. "There mother doesn't wish to leave api so I'm going to raise them on my own, but don't worry, I'll keep them away from your tree, but I don't think any of them are the type to steal from anyway." He turned to go, "I really enjoyed meeting you, but I understand if you don't want see me again. And I'll respect your wishes." he started to go his tail dragging solemnly behind him and ears low as his heart.

Bonsai's ears lowered a bit when he watched Doku begin to leave.
"Don't go," he pleaded. "I don't find anything wrong with your orientation."
"And I'd love to meet your children!" He had to leap onto another branch so that he could walk "beside" Doku, before leaping onto the same branch to sit in front of him. "No one's ever confessed to me like that.. the way you have. I'd love to be your friend.. and perhaps, sooner, something more."
He leaned over to nuzzle his cheek with a smile.
"You're unique, and I respect that."

Doku's eyes widened and teared a bit, no one had ever wanted him to stay. The words 'Something more then friends.' ran through his mind. When Bonsai nuzzled him Doku couldn't resist he kissed him, warping his arms around Bonsai and kissed him and held him for a moment before realizing what he had done. "I'm sorry, I did warn you that I was attracted to you, even more so now." he said smiling, glad he had found someone like him. "I will fetch the kids from there mother, if what you said was true. Perhaps we could stay with you." he submissively lowered his head but hopefully waited for a positive answer.
