They're interesting. Rather straight-forward, but that's good in a title for something. smile Get too mysterious and people lose interest.

I actually have never read any Anne Rice novels (therefore I really don't belong in this area of the forums)

She's got her reasons, I'm sure. She's really into writing her new books right now, but sometimes I think in defending her decision to stop writing them, she's more trying to talk herself into why she won't write them anymore than anything sometimes.....She's already been tempted to write one more just this once only to completely decide otherwise, so who knows what she'll do after she'd done with what she's working on now. 3nodding

Lol I'd have to say my favorite character beauty wise would have to be Armand. And not the ones from the movies. I'd say for attitude, Lestat. And I was pretty disappointed to find out she stopped writing the vampire chronicles. I was really enjoying sitting with my friend as she would summarize every juicy part of a book. sad But in any case, my friend had told me she stopped and went onto Christian writing after the Hurricane Catrina. I heard she had family over there or she used to live over there and she was really affected by the disaster. Is that all true? If so then I understand. If not......

No, she didn't start writing her christian books because of the hurricane, and her son lives in california. Her houses in new orleans were fine through the storm, I believe.

If you read the vampire novels, it should be no surprise that she switched to writing what she's doing now. When she says that her work has been leading up to to these new books, she's quite literally right- the VC are seeped in christian mythology. In fact, my favorite quote with regards to christianty is from Marius's book where he's talking to Santino one of the first times- "Worshipers of Satan? Look at that fool ornament around your neck. If the Christ exists, do you think He pays any attention to you?" xd

Ahh I see. Well thanks for the update lol. That quote is quiet funny. I would love to start reading her books though. My friend has almost got all her vampire chronicle's books. She's just missing one or two but she has read the entire series. She lost nearly half of them because her family couldn't pay for storage rent sad

Oh my, that's terrible. gonk Yes, I don't believe I have all of them yet either, but I've read them all, haha. There's this awesome store near my university called McKay's that sells all sorts of used media- the place is utterly massive. I picked up about four or five books from the series, all first print hardbacks, for about $7. What a steal! I need to go back there and finish up my collection, hahaha.

Lol Yes, my friend is going to Borders almost on a weekly basis just to recieve the books she orders. Lately she's been collecting a different series but she keeps complaining about not having the first edition hard back covers. She lost those in storage and had to get paper back. The sad thing was that all of the paper backs were like a few bucks MORE than the hard covers she bought years ago.

Hmmm, yeah, try to find a half priced or used book store. That'll be her best and most affordable bet for retrieving the books she lost. Definitely go to the mall bookstores and such, or other local stores with good selections- those are bound to have slightly older stock and might still have some hardbacks hanging around. 3nodding
