Your Gaia Name: Mallearius
Character's name: Linden Rathan
Status: Student
Age: 15
Gender: male
Race: Human
Appearance: Still in his youth, Linden is round faced and short. He has long brown hair that hangs down by his shoulders, and brown eyes that often glimmer with excitement and pleasure. He is well built and stocky, and takes pride in the decent level of muscle form that he has obtained. He wears long brown trousers of a fairly high quality material (complete with slight gap between shoe and trouser leg, evidence that he is still growing) and leather hobnailed shoes. He also wears a padded leather sleeveless shirt that is torn with use, and elbow length black lace-up gloves. Around his head, he wears a bright white piece of fabric that hangs loosely down to his waist, youthful vanity.
Height: 5'4"
Strengths: Confident in his own abilities, Linden is brave and determined. At the same time, he is aware both of his young age and lack of experience, and is therefore desperate to learn from his elders and betters. This combination makes him an apt pupil, always willing to learn and listen. He has already learned some of the basics of combat, and his active imagination gives him the advantage of ingenuity and adaptability when fighting. He has basic skills with a combination of two short swords, and has plans to develop his own weapon someday. Has a good sense of rhythm.
Weaknesses: Prone to bouts of "Short Man Syndrome", wherein anyone who insults his height is subject to Linden's rage. Furthermore, he has trouble controlling his temper, and thanks to his young age, this can get him into trouble. He is something of a "late bloomer" and therefore often finds himself lacking in strength and stamina when compared to the older students. He also has a poor sense of balance.
Weapon: two short swords named "Kaze" and "Kai"
Personality: Pleasant and agreeable, Linden is your typical amiable youth. He is naive and overly energetic thanks to his few years, but he is a social being primarily, and he amuses more than irritates. He has a sore spot regarding his height, and anyone who insults him about often receives a sound beating. Further to this, he has trouble controlling his temper. Thanks to his sheltered upbringing he often reacts with open mouthed wonder to other races and will pester members of a different creed with endless questions, as he will his teachers. However, this makes him a good people, and he retains large amounts of information simply by hearing or seeing something done. Has a strong moral sense, and when it comes to sticking up for the side of Justice he is brave and determined, though his input in any battle situation above a one to one fight is questionable. He has a powerful imagination which sometimes helps to make up for his lack of experience, but also makes him prone to daydream and lapses in concentration. He's at that age where he becomes nervous and foolish around women.
Bio: Grew up as part of a modestly wealthy household in the centre of one of Konalter's largest towns, Linden was never particularly gifted. His imagination (a sea of steel, penants flapping in the wind, him standing at the front of an army, equipped with the swords that were constantly in his thought) often prevented him concentrating on his studies. He can read and write, and draws proficiently, but beyond that has no aptitude for any of the academic arts. He was a constant embaressment to his parents, as they wanted to follow in their footsteps and become a Clerk in the high powered money lending firm: Grimsby and Sons. Betrothed to a life of drudgery and despair, Linden was even less inclined towards his schooling, and in despair his mother, Amaia, suggested he enroll as part of the House of Bricks, hoping it would teach him some discipline as well as martial skill, Linden was delighted, and had his gear packed and ready before his father had drafted a letter asking for his place. And so, Linden tearfully left his parents and, with a modest armed retinue, set off for the House.
Extra: Wants primarily to learn the style of two-sword fighting, so that he can go on and develop his own swords and style, he has had an image in his mind of two swords, "Caelestis" and "Brigantia", since he was very young, and wants to see them cast in steel.

Kills: 0
Wins/Losses/Ties: 0
Unique/Acquired attributes: Ingenuity and adaptability
Weapons: Kaze and kai: two short training swords, one with an ebony handle and one with an ivory handle, bought by doing several months of work for the blacksmith, they are his pride and joy. More like long daggers than swords, they facilitate a quick and agile fighting style Caelestis and Brigantia: Two long blades that do not yet exist beyond Linden's mind. One has a blade of silver and the other a blade of keenest steel. Both have an outward facing blade that curves, and both come to a length of about two feet. This does not include the handles, which are perpendicular to the blades, meaning the swords more closely resemble tonfa than swords, held so that each blade appears to spring from the little finger of each hand, the handles are made of wood wrapped in leather, the place where blade meets sword is inset with a ruby in Caelestis and a Diamond in Brigantia.

Very well balanced and I liked the character. I approve of it, unless the other GM in charge of character profile says other wise.
