Isn't it funny that our country is willing to step in when they think a country has 'weapons of mass destruction' But when innocent men, women and children are being murdered in foreign countries, all of a sudden we have to follow protocol and wait for the United Nations. I don't want to say our country is racist, that would be wrong and the FBI might show up on my door step and make me disappear lol. But back when the problem in Rwanda happened, and then the killings in Darfur. Notice we can spend money on a wild goose chase in a country with those who have white skin. But whenever those who are not white in AFRICA are having trouble, all of a sudden we have to follow policy and wait. Maybe it's just me or I'm missing something. But things have to change. Maybe it's our lawmakers or who knows what. But I dislike it.

I don't think America is raciest... I think some minor citizens in America are raciest, but as a whole I do not believe this to be true... I feel everyone needs to take a step back and work on AMERICAN Issues... We are too small of a country to be worried about the whole damn world... America needs to get their act together and stop worrying about foreign countries and help reduce the debt of our country and fix this oil situation first and foremost... I mean what is another country going to do to us? They can't nuke us, we have the toughest border in the world, the only way they can even hurt was to hijack our own planes and ram them into a building... I know this sounds harsh, but if we are to really help anyone, it should be us.

I still think some of our law makers are racist. But my opinion so yeah lol. Oh but I agree with you, I think America acts like a Bully, we worry about who had weapons and try to moderate everyone else and waste our money. We have so many homeless, jobless, citizens, children in danger. If anything we need to fix ourselves first.

I read something that I found very interesting that I feel might be relevant to this discussion.
The author of Mystery Date, a well known zine (homeade magazine) writes about old 1950s values, how they used to study all these etiquette rules and it was still a white man's world.
Somebody asked her why she writes about the 1950s when it is no longer in play.
She responded that it was still in play because many of our politicians grew up in this era and still hold these values.
That could be a key to why we turn a blind eye to so many things that are controversially racist/sexist/Christian dominated.
I also studied in cultural psychology that we seem to bring the stereotype of Latino or African-American criminals by casting those types as the "bad guys" in nearly every television show and movie.
Hope that didn't seem too much off the topic. I felt it was relevant though.

True. Thanks for that Miss OHara, Maybe after all of the older Politicians leave and we get those raised in a more accepting era in office things will change.
Think about this too, while we have presidents who have been to college YEARS ago, the educational standards have raised SOOO much. So what they thought was the top of the educational standards then are either the lowest or just regular standards now. So are our officials really that smart? Or do they hold really low education levels?

Never thought of that, like "Are you Smarter than a 5th grader?", some of those things I've NEVER learned.
There are also many new discoveries that have been made as well.
Looking at the passage in my zine book about Mystery Date, I've found some really interesting propaganda films children used to watch in schools. It's hard to believe what they thought was true!
There was an anti-homosexual film titled "Boys Beware". That was also back when they believed that homosexuality was a mental illness.
Thats just one of the films I found online......viva youtube!
Back to your new topic......I'm not sure. They had outdated discoveries and whatnot, but one thing I have to give the older individuals credit for is geography. Many of us don't know our way around the world because they don't teach it anymore eek
I don't think they hold low educational levels, just outdated knowledge and many come with the "set in their ways" attitude. They know about life because they have years behind their belts, no need to learn more.
A.D. still means after death, Homosexuality is a mental illness, it's not important to know how to turn on a computer, and pagan religions are satanic.
Hope that didn't sound too rude, I was trying to be funny. I know lots of older people who aren't that way. I find those the ones who will stay young forever because they are willing to accept new things.

If they are willing to accept new things i'm all for it. But when you do get those born before the tolerance of races and when homosexuality was like "OH MY GOD" and even after all of the new things they refuse to listen to anything things are bad. It's needed to move with the times. Hell I mean, my parents grew up without computers, and now they can manage a computer without freaking out too much. As long as people move with the times, and aren't so proud and stuck in the ways were fine. I think once we see more younger people in office the government and country will change Dramatically.
