I am volunteering at church in the mornings to help out the vacation bible camp and it's been fun. =] The kids are adorable and my group is pretty good.
Also gets me out of the house. I love little kids. >w<
Anyways, I was wondering if there were many activists in the guild.
In a forum I used to be in, we had a subforum for posting news about climate effects, petitions, updates, and vegetarian helper guides and recipes. I just thought if we'd have enough people interested, it would be nice.
Now, it wouldn't be a debate thread (WE NEED A DEBATE THREAD BY THE WAY!!), so if you wouldn't agree with something you could post it somewhere else.
=] Anyone interested?

As long as it can be applied for other causes as well. A sub forum touting only climate change news and vegetarian recipes can make it seem one-sided.
I dunno. Debate threads brings lots of traffic, though. I know that much.

Yeah, I just only put up examples that came to mind. ^___^ It can be causes from AIDS to gay rights.

I don't see why we need a subforum when we can just hold the debates right here in the main forum. After all, subforums are designed to organize lots of activity into categorized areas. This place isn't active enough to require many subforums.

Zorlock Darksoul I don't see why we need a subforum when we can just hold the debates right here in the main forum. After all, subforums are designed to organize lots of activity into categorized areas. This place isn't active enough to require many subforums.
Because, if we just added random debates, it would be more cluttered than it is already.
And it would be nice to attract more members.

Who to side with?
While I agree the guild isn't nearly active enough to begin making sub-forums for things, I also agree that if we let debate threads run loose in the main forum, it would get cluttered regardless of activity.

While I agree the guild isn't nearly active enough to begin making sub-forums for things, I also agree that if we let debate threads run loose in the main forum, it would get cluttered regardless of activity. That's when a subforum would be justified. We shouldn't make one until we're certain that the activity level would support it. If twenty-something debates suddenly crop up, we can make a subforum and move all the debates there.

One of the sub-forums I'm putting in will temporarily and I stress TEMPORARILY, be for debates until further use can be found for it. As soon as all the necessary sub-forums are created, I will start making others, and we can find a permanent home for a debating sub-forum.
