Our story is set in a late 1800's type world (mainly a very fictional Europe), where demons and the unknown rule the night. Electricity is a new idea here, so most homes and streets still use old fashion lamps for lighting. The king of England has decided to start a group who specializes in the killing of these creatures of the night.
At the same time, the pope in Rome has enlisted a more civil group of night walkers to help the church control and destroy other night walkers.
Tristan the III, King of England has been informed of the pope's actions and has showed very strong opposition towards the Pope's plans, which it turn causes friction between the two countries.
Nether Italy nor England has heard anything out of Spain since the countries capital was attacked by a group of more intelligent night walkers. Spain's borders have been blocked to keep the group that attacked the capital from going after any other country...but can 50 foot stone walls and men with bows and swords really keep such evil from escaping?
Only time will tell.
