Zach really had no idea where the idea had come from, initially. Maybe when he'd been sitting around thinking about the fire, and writing in his journal. His mind had wandered to how ... down ... people seemed around the school lately. And Zach didn't much like it when everyone was depressed or scared or ... whatever they all were.

So he'd decided to take it upon himself to do something about it. Grinning, he'd typed up a small invitation and slipped it under the doors of every dorm room.

It read: Hey, things need to liven up around here! I've got an idea, so meet at the mall tonight... just before it closes.

Now, Zach was just standing around outside as the afternoon slowly waned on ... waiting to see if anyone would actually show up. And hoping that at least someone would.

He would have missed the invitation to this if he hadn't been padding around his room barefoot earlier in the day, the paper sticking to the bottom of his slightly burned and overly medicated feet like an unwelcome visitor. He'd frowned a bit, even giving off a look of disgust at how he had to peel it away, but as the words came to light beneath the thin veil of medication that he'd have to reapply before any bandages were put on, he raised an eyebrow.

The mall? I know how to get there.

So that was really all it took to get him out of his room toting a bag of clothing with him in his left hand, as his shoulders were still a bit too crispy for his liking, and he pondered what else would be going on this evening as his footsteps carried him closer to his destination.

You know, I don't know who sent that card and what exactly we're going to do once I get there and find out, but I think it's a good thing that I'm getting out and trying something new. I always preach to others about how they need to try and learn new things in order to grow so perhaps I should be less of a hypocrite...for once.

His thoughts trailed off but stopped as he actually reached his finishing point, and a grin broke over his lips as he recognized the boy standing nearby as the person he could consider a friend, Zach.

"Hey, Zachary! So you're the one behind this?"

It had been some time since the brunette teen walked about the school and he was growing silently curious as to the happenings the past few days, no doubt interested in what other students were doing in the wake of the fire that had obliterated the Science and Technology building. But the shy boy had hardly gone out to do much other than to take pictures of various things, including the closed off building (as close as he could get), and visiting parts of the school in solitude.

Naturally the invitation sounded heavenly. The piece of paper was easily noted as he was traveling into his room and happened upon it. Though he didn't exactly know what the invitation entailed, the fact that it was left open was most intriguing. And who had sent it? Did other students receive the same invitation? Elijah presumed so and taking it and pocketing it, he made it a point to travel to the mall that evening.

When he arrived at the mall, his eyes immediately landed on the familiar sight of Zach and Mica, both students he had met before. A wide grin spread across his face, glad that not only were there other people attending, but that they were people he could be comfortable around. Plus it had been some time and Elijah had wanted to meet both of them again, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Swiftly he ran to greet them, pausing as he came upon them.

"Hi! You both were invited too? Or did one of you send the invitations?" he asked, not knowing who was behind this.

Jaden had been decidedly dubious about the invitation at first. He had studying to do, after all...but after a few moments thought, he realized that, well...it certainly wouldn't do him any harm to try and socialize a bit, had to have friends beyond Nat and Far, right? Forcing himself to pull on the small reserve of courage he had, the little blond made his way to the mall that evening, mismatched eyes glancing about to see if there was anyone else there he knew.

A smile lit up his face when he realized that 'Lij, Zach and Mica were here as well, all people he had at least spoken to before. Waving a hand, he scampered up to where everyone was waiting. "Hey, guys!" He greeted softly, but with plenty of enthusiasm. "Who set this thing up?" Jadey too was curious, after all.

-------

Farlest had thought the idea a marvelous one from the start. A get-together, involving the students, was something that he wanted to be a part of. Though Ka had been less than convinced of the wisdom of this idea, Far had dragged his lover with him, bantering on how this would be fun, and that he'd get to meet new people.

That was, of course, the entire reason that Far wanted to go, after all. There would be people, in the plural, and the dark-haired young man quite firmly believed in the saying 'the more the merrier'.

When he arrived at the mall, he was quite fairly bouncing. "Hullo everyone!" His greeting far louder than Jaden's, full of energy, a friendly warmth in his eyes as he glanced around, taking in those he knew, and those he didn't.

Ka followed along behind Far a few feet back, smiling faintly at the other's antics and obvious good mood. Well... hm. Maybe this hadn't been such a bad idea, after all. Even when he was with the other, he'd noticed that Far seemed a bit down, as of late - owing to the fire in the Science building, Ka was sure.

So it was a good thing to see him bouncing around like that, and Ka padded up after the other, nodding a quiet hello of his own.

-------------------------------

Zach looked around at everyone that had shown up so far and beamed. He had been hoping people would come, but hadn't been sure. Nodding first to Mica, he smiled and replied, "Yup... figured everyone needed a kind of pick-me-up. Sooo I came up with a plan. Though it's not like our last plan." He smiled at that and laughed softly at the memory.

"Invites were sent by me!" he said then, addressing all who had gathered a bit louder, since several more people had walked up more or less all at once while he was talking to Mica.

Then Zach rocked back on his heels a little and surveyed the little group. Hmm... enough people to reveal the plan probably. And most of them were friendly enough not to just stare at him like he was crazy and then walk off. Or so he hoped. "Bet you're all wondering by now what this's about huh?" he asked, looking from one person to the next. "We-ell... after what happened recently, I thought maybe we could all use some fun...so... who's up for a sleepover?" Now to pray he wouldn't get laughed at....

"Ha, that's true. Our last plan would have sent us both to jail, so I'm looking forward to whatever you've got."

He managed to end what he was saying before more people, and by more at least a half-eight, showed up giving various degrees of welcome. He was glad to see Elijah, as he wanted to perhaps talk with the young boy again, and he noticed Jaden, whom he'd very briefly met before. Behind him were two others, unfamiliar yet still quite interesting.

"A slumber party, eh? Sounds pretty good to me, I think it'd be fun. I've never had or been to a slumber party before."

Micajah had a look of childish eagerness in his eyes and on his face as he turned to look at his fellow students, hoping at least another person would give it an 'okay-go'. He didn't mind if it was going to be just him and Zach, as he knew they'd at least be able to talk, but the childish side of him wanted it to be as full as possibly with as many people as possible.

Elijah grinned as Jaden came up, remembering the adventure to the mall he, Jaden, and Zach shared not too long ago when they were all new to the school and exploring the area for the first time. He was thankful his friends were all gathering together, those he hardly knew and those he knew a little better. Farlest as well as Ka had come into the picture, both students he knew nothing about but remembered seeing them during the exploits in China. At least this would be a great opportunity to get to know one another a little better.

Listening to Zach who explained what was going on he brightened up. "A sleepover? That sounds like fun!" he muttered immediately, not having to think about what he was saying knowing automatically that they would no doubt have a great time. The teen had never really had a slumber party before so the prospect sounded intriguing enough.

His eyes flitted to the other students, wondering what they were thinking of the idea. At least Mica seemed to be excited about it. A warm grin spread across his youthful face.

(( Just gonna skip Seph ))

Zach grinned at the positive responses and bounced a little, obviously excited about the idea and glad that it was apparently being well-received. "Great! I wonder if anybody else is gonna show up... "

After all, he'd given invitations to everyone ... But then again, maybe no one else was really interested. "What d'you guys think, should we wait here a few more minutes?"

"I don't mind waiting to see if anyone else shows up, I've got the time."

Micajah smiled and adjusted the pack on his shoulder, mildly glad to himself that he figured right in regards that this event was a sleep-over of some sort. Even though it had all been vague when he'd read that slip, something told him to bring clothes.

Maybe he was just lucky in this case?

"I'm ready for anything."

"We could wait a few minutes. Ten, fifteen, just to avoid someone showing directly after we leave," the youth murmured, glancing between the two with bright, vivid and eager eyes. He was ready to get started, though wasn't exactly sure what this was going to entail. They looked between the other students, wondering if he should start a conversation while they were waiting.

But what?

"So, what are we going to do at the sleepover?" he asked to pass the time, not knowing what else to say or throw in.
