Welcome to the Guild! Feel free to start new threads (maybe even compile a FAQ Sticky or start a journal in our Journaling Subforum) and grab a banner here or here for your sig! PM our moderators: Ares, Civet Moon, M is for M+Ms or I if you have any suggestions or concerns. I want as few rules as possible, and if everybody behaves themselves, we won't need any more rules! Sound good? Okay. Remember, this Guild is subject to the rest of Gaia's Rules and TOS as well, so things like suicide encouragement, and posting links to sites that are not PG-13, are not permitted! Be supportive of others, and don't do anything that will get this Guild deleted by the Gaia Admins! This Guild's specific rules follow:

arrow 1.) Please try to keep misinformation to a minimum. I ask you to please refrain from pretending to have been diagnosed with a mental-illness that you do not have. This is not a role-playing Guild. If you believe that you meet the criteria for a specific diagnosis, or you have "diagnosed" yourself, please make it clear that you have not been formally diagnosed when talking about your condition. Thank you for your cooperation with this rule! Similarly, please understand that nobody on this forum can diagnose you. If you have an undiagnosed problem, you will need to meet with a doctor in real life to rule out other medical conditions and give you proper treatment. Improper diagnoses can be harmful to you, and there is no way to get a proper diagnosis over the Internet.

Gaia Rules & Guidelines
Endorsing illicit activities or encouraging crime is not permitted.

arrow 2.) Please introduce yourself on the Introduction Thread, rather than starting a new thread, so that we can keep them all in one place!

arrow 3.) Please stay on-topic. It's all right for the conversation to wander within a thread, but please make sure that any new threads you post focus on the discussion of mental illness. If you want to talk to any of the members about other topics, you can visit The Official Off-Topic Thread or PM the member individually!

Gaia Rules & Guidelines
Keep your posts relevant to the forum in which you are currently in. Try to make your posts informative and/or entertaining.

arrow 4.) Please mark Triggering posts and avoid Triggering titles. Some of our members are a sensitive population. That means that our symptoms can be "Triggered" by alarming thread Subjects or Message Bodies. You should still feel free to post about disturbing subjects such as suicide or self-injury, however, please mark the Subject titles of particularly graphic posts, or posts that may be upsetting to others, with something like "(Triggering)" to warn sensitive readers. Please refrain entirely from Subject titling your posts in ways that may be Triggering to our readers' illnesses. For an example of unacceptable Subject titles:
Quote:
i need help before i do something again to harm myself
Quote:
Please give me some advices. Else I have to kill myself...

Specifically I am making this rule after several posts that implied that the poster was going to harm or kill themselves without immediate action by the reader. Please do not pressure our members, even if you are in distress yourself. In an emergency, please call 911 or your local emergency number.

Gaia Rules & Guidelines
