Just thought it'd be a good idea to have a thread with a list of covers and tribute albums (with links if possible). Please mention all the ones you know and I'll edit them into this post. ~Separate songs~ Candlemass - Black Sabbath Medley (Various bits of songs from early Ozzy albums, found on the rerelease of their Ancient Dreams album) Faith No More-War Pigs (Link in Skye's post) Flower Travellin' Band - Black Sabbath Megadeth - Paranoid Metallica - Sabbra Cadabra (From Garage Inc.) Overkill - Changes Overkill - Never Say Die Overkill - Cornucopia (All three from their Coverkill album) Pantera - Planet Caravan (From their Far Beyond Driven album and their best of album) Pantera - Hole In the Sky (From their best of album) Paul Chain - Electric Funeral (Found on his Mirror best of album) Sheavy - War Pigs (From their Born Too Late split album) Sleep - Lord of this World (From their Volume 2 EP) Solitude Aeturnus - Heaven and Hell (Appears on their Adagio album) System of a Down - Snowblind Thunderstorm - Electric Funeral (From their Witchhunter Tales album) ~Tribute Albums~Evil LivesHeaven & HellHell RulesHell Rules Vol. 2Masters of MiseryNativity In BlackNativity In Black Vol. 2Sabbatum: Medieval tributePlease post others as I'm sure there's many many more.

Nativity in Black albums kick a**, I really haven't heard many other than that though. I also like Pantera's hole in the sky, and metallica's sabra cadabra off of garage inc.

I love when other bands do sabbath covers. It's cool that musicians show their appreciation for other bands that they were inspired and influenced by. Also, mostly because the recording equipment equipment used for the covers has improved since sab's original recordings, some of the covers honestly sound better than the originals.

The only cover I like more than the original is Solitude Aeturnus' cover of Heaven and Hell.

But like I said, mostly just because of the differences in equipment and recording quality.

I like the Solitude Aeturnus one better because it has a bit more of an aggressive edge to it, it's heavier, and the vocalist for SA is really good at recreating Dio's voice.

I haven't heard this one yet, but I can imagine how it could be. Like the verse, where the bassist just plays the open Eb over and over, with better recording quality, and a pounding bass, it could already sound that much heavier.

Yeah, and SA are usually very heavy anyway.
