Personality:. A frequent visitor of the Plecostomus, and member of the mafia. Well known by the regulars as someone who can smooth-talk his way into or out of most situations. A generally well liked, fun loving guy, but with a long list of failed relationships, not all of them on good terms. Jalarka enjoys the chase, but tends to bore quickly afterwards.
Extra:. Could use a couple of "failed relationships" if anyone is interested.

Occupation:. Mafia/Entertainment/Employee
Physical Attributes:. Esme was born from a mermaid and a sea dragon, so her features are delicate and exotic, to say the least. She's got the figure of a goddess, and a dainty girlishness to fit with the image. From her mother she inherited long and silky lavender hair and a pretty pink fin color; from her father she gained the feathery look to her fins and a love of all things beautiful. It's because of this you can often see pearls decorating her person, and all sorts of colorful shells or the like.
Her eyes are all her own- a smoldering amber yellow that lures in all those who are looking.
Personality:. Esme has various facets to her personality, and because of this, she works different angles of the mafia and the casino. At one point she can be a sultry seductress, tempting customers with a devious smile and a sway of her hips. At another, she can be a persuasive 'ambassador' to the humans, earnestly speaking of the wonders of the underworld and the casino. In another instant, she can shapeshift into a dangerous beast, capable of mass destruction at a simple order from her superior, whom she's hinted at having a steamy relationship with.
She's known the best as a siren of sorts, a heartbreaker and a tease.
Esme isn't in the mafia because she's power hungry, despite all the other signs. She's actually the avenger-type. The humans captured her father and brutally tested on him until his death day, and for this she feels that slow integration of the humans into the underseas will eradicate them once and for all. She's got a while to live anyways, thanks to her extended lifespan, courtesy of her father.
Esme is actually quite mischievous and intelligent, and is capable of rather devious acts. Don't get on her bad side and she won't bother you.

Physical Attributes:. Meluna has long, dark brown hair that, when she's not in motion, falls down far enough to prevent her from needing to wear a top, which is not uncommon. Her blue eyes sparkle like the sun on the waves. Her lips are soft coral filled with a small pout.
Personality:. Completely aware of her looks, Meluna likes to play the innocent young mermaid. She's playful, flirtatious, and has a habit of getting herself into trouble with many of the more attractive men who come into the casino.
Extra:. Meluna started her job at the casino a few months ago.

Occupation:. Gambler
Physical Attributes:. Kanja has red hair, reaching just passed his shoulders with "stunning green eyes" as someone once said. His tail is a mixture of orange and red to match his hair.
Personality:. Kanja has refused to enter the casino in months after being dumped and embarrassed by one that he thought had been his lover. Eventually he gained the courage to return, or perhaps it was a gambling addiction that finally won over, but he still plans to avoid a certain individual at all costs.

Kanja also has sympathy for the humans that get dragged down here. He does his best to help them out if he can. Often he is described as "too nice for his own good".

Character name: Metra
Gender: Female
Age: early-to-mid-twenties, I guess
Species: Mermaid (fish)
Occupation: Chanteuse
Physical Attributes: Metra is a lovely mermaid with an iridescent red tail and, for the moment, a blonde bob that gradates down into a brilliant red. She loves to wear alluring clothing/jewellery in the mermaid fashions (especially when she's performing) and will sometimes wear wigs for her performances.
Personality: Still not sure. She probably has a bit of a superiority complex and definitely some mermaid pride. She loves attention. I believe her bob haircut is a fairly recent change. =P
Extra: Nothing much to say here. I don't know yet if she's an exclusive act at the club or not, although it's likely that she is. And I have a picture of her here: Censored Metra

Name: Brooke 'Sting' Drift
Gender: Female
Age: Appears Early 20's
Species: Half-Jellyfish (Giant Cubozoan)
Occupation: Mafia/Casino Debt Collector
Physical Attributes: Sting's upper-torso is that of a human. Her hair is long and a vibrant silver - typically it's tied back into a messy bun, with numerous pins holding it up. If it is down, it reaches to almost her waist. Her eyes are also silver, and seem to stare deep into your soul when she looks you in the eye. Though she is pretty, there is a dangerous air about her. She wears a black female business dress. Sting's lower torso is a mass of fluid tentacles, like a jelly fish. They're translucent in color, although some are tinged red, blue, purple, and green.
Personality: Sting did not get her name by chance. She is a cool, smooth-talking female when she wants to be - however; she can become venomous in an instant when ordered to do so. She is very good at what she does, and therefore demands respect. Sometimes, very rarely, she will ease back and have a good time.
You can tell she's had a rough life.
Extra: I figured it would be too easy if anyone that touched her tentacles would be poisoned by her sting (The Cubozoan is considered to be the most venomous marine creature) - so I made it so that she can CHOOSE whether she stings or not.


Selkie/Other Such Things

Name:. Muireann (means Fair Sea in irish Gaelic)

Age:. Appears to be anywhere between 16-25
Species:. Bochtog (Water Faerie)
Occupation:. Entertainer
Physical Attributes:. Like most of her kind, Muireann is amorphous and mercurial; she can change her shape at will but usually remains some what human-esque most of the time. Her translucent skin is shaded a beautiful aquamarine with deep blue eyes and green hair. Her ears, often hidden by her long locks, are in the typical point of the fey folk, hence why they are kept hidden.
Personality:. Muireann is of good humour, performing what one would call parlour tricks to the crowds that gather in the casino. Being of the Fey, however, she plays by her own rules rather than by those of the other casino workers. She can go from volatile to flighty and bubbly in the blink of an eye.
Extra:. Muireann originally comes from the court of the Summer King, whom she had been devoted to all her life until recently. Something made her change and she left the Summer Court without so much as a word to those she cared about. Instead, she joined the casino and started working as a waitress initially but then worked her way up to entertainment with her magic. Seemingly dedicated to her job, Muireann usually doesn't follow the rules given to her by Shrimpo or any of the other higher ups. Some would say that there might be more than meets the eye when it comes to the water Fey...

Character name: Emile Viverdi
Gender: Male
Age: Probably looks somewhere from 27 - 33.
Species: Naga (think: mythological seasnake merman)
Occupation: Singer/Entertainer
Physical Attributes: Emile has long, dark green hair and a large snake's tail of matching colour (except for the belly of course) that is at least 5 metres in length but is probably longer (I'm not very good at measurements). Still not sure about his eye colour or skin =P


Personality: I think I'll just let the narrative describe his personality. I'm not really good at analyzing this stuff before i've worked with a character. He's probably more modest than the other characters, though =P except when he's on stage. I have this feeling that his stage persona and his real personality aren't always in alignment.
Extra: Viverdi is a crooner at the Plecostomus and he's under contract as an exclusive act.

Physical Attributes:. He is, quite literally, a shrimp. He's small, translucently white with gigantic black eyes, and rather, well, shrimp looking. What else do you expect from a shrimp?
Personality:. Extremely timid. Because of his shyness mixed with his high status, he often stutters out of nerves and stress.
Extra:. Shrimpo is often almost eaten. In fact, it happens at least seven times a day.

Physical Attributes:. Ariel is tall, thin, and lightly muscled. He has his blond hair cut in a femine manner, ending just below his ears and with bangs that are always in his face (ie - the same style as Moko-chan's avvie). He has a very pale complexion from having spent many years away from the sun. He has piercings in both his ears, in which are either simple gold hoops or, when he's dressed for the stage, flashy dangling earrings of all sorts. Also, when's he's dressed to perform, he wears very revealing costumes and over the top jewelery.
Personality:. As Ariel, he is often quiet and contemplative, opting to observe rather than join. He is in no way shy, he just ends to keep to himself in a world where he is an odd man out. He is also laid back and does not get upset easily. As Moko, "she" is very flamboyant, flirty, and spontaneous. Moko adores the spotlight and does whatever "she" can to keep everyone's attention on "her". Also, as Moko, "she" will hit on anything living, regardless of gender where as Ariel prefers only the company of men. Moko is very girly-girl and treats all the girls as though they were "her" sister.
Extra:. Ariel is gay with a split personality (Moko).

Also, The Fool is willing to take any suggestions on titles for the RP. He is not satisfied with 'Underwater Escapades', but felt that a title was needed.

Jalarka checked himself quickly in the mirror before heading out to the casino. He was on the hunt, looking for someone new to hold his interest for a few days. It was currently a blond haired mermaid that held the record, keeping him entertained for a full week before he grew bored of her. Second place was actually held by a young man with stunning green eyes, but he too was quickly turned away after five days. Who would it be next?

Jalarka locked the door behind him. It was an expensive room, one provided to him by his boss, who he had never met. He didn't particularly care about who was giving the orders, so long as the pay was good enough to all him to continue to have fun when he wasn't working.

He loved the casino. It was the perfect place to search for a new companion, however long they may last. Jalarka nodded to the doormen, who were quite familiar with his face by now, and entered the casino.

"Ah, my dear, is that all for you?" Esme purred, fingering another shot glass with a mother's caress. She was already behind the counter, the perfect barmaid. Triton knows that the drinkers loved to come early to the casino. The merman in front of her waved for another glass, and she was happy to comply. Poor rejected man. It only meant more tips for her tonight~

With expert and delicate hands she whipped up another alcoholic drink, and with a final swish of her hips, slid the glass smoothly to the merman. "Just call if you need me, sweetie," she winked, and slid over to the other side to work on another customer. She wasn't going to be behind doors tonight, unfortunately, but no matter. She was expecting a notice from her superiors; if she was in the back room she wouldn't be able to receive it.

Esme paused to see Jalarka coming to the bar. The half-octopus man was notorious for being a player, but seeing as he was a co-worker, she had to put up with him on a near daily basis. He wasn't bad, he just wasn't her type. Not that his compliments weren't appreciated. "Jalarka, flattery gets you nowhere, don't you know that?" she teased, swimming to her cabinet and starting to mix up his regular drink with swift movements.

She finally set down the glass with a flourish, topping it off with a tiny umbrella. "So, set your sights on any new girl yet?" she smiled. "What was your longest record, a week?"

Geneviève awoke and left her room in the casino's hotel. She walked down the employee staircase and into the prep room. She looked at the schedule for that days shift and was nowhere to be found on it. "Um....excuse me sir." she said to her supervisor in the kitchen. "I'm not on the list for today" He chuckled and slapped his big hand onto her shoulder.

"You think that after hearing that angelic voice of yours that we would keep you in the prep kitchen I think not Geneviève. You are now a cocktail singer." he said with a sparkle in his eyes. "There a room for you just down the hall your names on the door. There's also a dress for you in there as well." he said quietly to her so that others did not hear.

"Oh, thank you, sir." she said to her boss. Geneviève had no clue as to what to expect as a singer now. She walked quietly down the hall trying to calm her nerves. When she saw the door with her name on it she opened it. Inside there was a card and a beautiful evening gown that she was to wear for that evening. She picked up the card and read it was from the owner of the casino congratulating her on her promotion.

Geneviève got dressed and nervously watched the minuets tick down to show time. There was a basic set list that she was to perform for the evening it was all the songs she was caught singing the other night at a birthday karaoke party for one of her co-workers.

When it came time to perform she quietly got to the stage and introduced herself. She was so nervous that her voice was barely over a whisper. To try and save herself she quickly got into singing the first song. The first song she sang was Cry by an above grounder by the name of Faith Hill. When she finished the song most if not all of the audience busted into applause.
