Moving through the metropolis of Sharn, you finally reach the Inn of which you have forgotten the name of. You head to where you remember it being to find...an inn by the name of...The Crimson Cockatrice?!? You know for sure it wasn't called that before! Still, it seems to be in the exact same place, with the exact same darkwood walls and roof with a deep green ivy growing all over it, and the same logo indicating the establishment is certified by House Ghallandra on it!
You stand in front of the inn, feeling a bit confused. The partially tinted (to an almost charcoal-ish color) windows reveal a familiar scene of people eating lunch and chatting inside, being served by a few cheerful and remarkably strong and coordinated halfling waitresses. That seems to be the same as before as well! This...is the same place, right?

Will enters the inn and, assuming nothing special happens, asks the inkeeper/concierge/whoever looks to be in charge what the price for a 2-person room.

When you enter the inn, a young halfling woman greets you courteously and enthusiastically. "Welcome to the Crimson Cockatrice!" she says cheerfully. She studies Will's facial expressions for a split second, then adds "Say, are you two first time repeat customers?"

OOC: It's not that my initiative rolls in RL suck... it's just that some retards decide "Hey let's put Daizengar as the rear guard! And make sure he's really far back too! In fact lets put him at least 20-60 feet behind us as rear guard!" Then when we run into battle they start harping at me "ZOMGWTFBBQ! WHY DID IT TAKE YOU SO LONG TO GET HERE!"

"Ah yes, that explains perfectly how bewildered you all seem right now!" She turns around and addresses the tavern patrons. "Hey, first-timer reppys here! Give them a warm welcome!" You then hear a hearty chorus of laughter and notice the tavern patrons all waving or applauding you.
"You see, we've got the market cornered with our unique naming policy! The Crimson Cockatrice is the only inn in all of Sharn, perhaps even Khorvaire that changes its name daily! Naturally, we get all kinds of interesting folks coming here!"
She pauses for a second and then adds "Now then, what can I do for you?"

"Interesting concept for an inn," Will laughs. "I imagine we're not the first to come in looking so confused on a return? Though, I'll be the first to admit, I probably looked stupider than most."
"Anyways, I'd like to rent a room for my companion and me... We're in between work currently and are looking for a place to stay for a while." Will says. "And, if it's not too much trouble, information on a magic lab, as i'd like to do a bit of work while i'm here."

"Anyways, I can certainly get you lodging, and I can direct you to the nearest Cannith enclave, though you might be able to find a better deal by asking around some of the more rugged folk around here where they get...or even make their magic items. Some of the lesser-known magewrights might be willing to part with their labs for a bit."
"What was the last bit? Oh! Lodging. Our standing rates are 1 gold a night for our standard lodging, and 3 gold a night for one of our best rooms. Both come with complementary breakfast and dinner, not including any drinks." (you're both fairly positive by "drinks" she means slang for alcohol). "If the warforged doesn't care to eat, I can give you a discount of 3 silvers a night, since you obviously won't need that extra food."
