I'm sure most people have seen my little post about me running off on a camping trip. We had mostly rain, with some brief sunny breaks, but it kept the bugs down until the last day at least.
Anyway, on the way home Monday, I noticed some mild tenderness just above one side of my jaw. I figured it was just a bug bite and wasn't too concerned. Tuesday, there was swelling on both sides of my face. Still thought it was just a bad reaction to the bites. By thursday though, the swelling had increased along the back of my jaw and neck and I had a fever (don't have a thermometer to confirm how high). Went to a walk-in clinic and the doctor gave me a bloodwork requisition for a general Blood count work up, mono, mumps, and I'm not sure what the other was (looked like titon?). So now I'm waiting for the results of the tests which should be in Monday or Tuesday.
I'm not looking forward to the results.

could it have been something as simple as poison ivy or oak? I would think that would spread pretty quick to the rest of your body...and his.
Did you find out what it is yet?

Ha ha that was funny. Swelling went down for a couple of days, then came back worse than before. Went to my family doctor, but he didn't have a copy of the blood work results. He figured that since the clinic Dr didn't say anything to him or myself that it was probably just an unusual infection that was focused on glands only (and not throat or ears which usually would also be affected)
So I got out of a couple more days of work while it cleared, but as the glands had returned to normal he felt I just needed to rest.
Doing better now though. Back to my nasty evil self twisted
