Feel free to give suggestions! I'm an intermediate seamstress and I'm always looking for pointers!

Collecting ball-jointed dolls usually means having trouble finding clothes (that don't cost an arm or a leg, at least). So I make them clothes (Usually to their displeasure). I have a bad tendency to start something and not finish, but this I managed to finish!

Here is my little guy, Itzal, modeling the overalls I made for him today. He can usually wear Barbie stuff after modifying but everything is too girly for him, obviously. I knew saving my old blue jeans would come in handy.

Took two hours, machine/hand sewn, fabric glue (Fabri-Tac, I love you). Made the pattern myself with the help of an old pair of Barbie jeans. His hat is the elastic top of a baby sock that I sewed closed and glued a pom-pom on top.
...I didn't make the lizard XD

Itzal is 8 inches tall. And yes, that's a dime in his pocket, it's functional!

That is brilliant, and adorable. >w<

Most likely, I'd do the same if I had a ball-jointed doll.
Aren't those expensive? The more reason to make them clothes yourself eehhh. XD

Thank you! heart

Yeeeaahh, they can get kinda pricey sweatdrop Their clothes can too. A pair of blue jeans for my SD (60cm) cost about as much as my own so I try to make what I can. I usually buy jeans, I've tried and tried but I can't get them to look nice enough. Thing is I don't mind buying jeans because they look like a miniature version of human jeans; fly, button, seams, functional pockets, the works. Everything else I usually try making myself first. If I can't then I'll probably buy.

Even the overalls are a little wonky, I can never seem to make the crotch right so when he stands he looks a little bow-legged XD

P.S, your signature cracks me up XD

Those overalls are really great smile

I sometimes start making clothes for my Barbie and other dolls, but I usually put it aside before I finish biggrin

And yes, I saw how expensive Dollfies and their clothes were and it totally put me off getting one myself biggrin

Yep, he's in the 'Tiny' category. I'm pretty sure it's somewhere around 35-30cm and smaller are considered Tinys.

sounds about right, 60cm are the large...I'm totally buying one when I get my tax rebate (next week? *crosses her fingers*) but, everywhere I've seen pre-made clothes that I like they're all sold out!

do you always create your own patterns or might you know of a source where you can purchase them?
I don't mind paying a bit more for patterns since I always copy to freezer paper so they last longer XD
