Personality: While a bit prideful himself, he actually is very understanding of human nature, and, given his history, he's also sympathetic to those who have to fight for their rights. He is overall very business oriented, and, has a way of trying to wrap people around his finger. He's a shameless flirt.

History: His father was a trader in the wine business and his mother...well...she was an idealist living in a world that shunned and degraded women. His mom, born in Turkey, enjoyed a few rights that she lost when she married Marcus's father. By the time Marcus was born, she had a deep resentment of her husband. (Side note: Marcus was named for one of His father's business partners, in order to appease the guy) At seven, Marcus was more often the witness to his father's beating of his mother, and thus, also began to resent his father, as, his mother was the one the took care of him while his father was away.
At 10, his mother took and tried to flee to Turkey to escape Marcus's father.
They didn't suceed. Marcus's father found them, and, accusing her of running to another man, Marcu's father killed his wife. In front of Marcus.
This was a major turning point for Marcus. He was then rasied by his grandmother mostly, but, even with her and his father trying to impose the social status of the country on him, his mother left huge imprint on Marcus.
Marcus's father died when he was 16, and upon receiving his inheritance, he asked his father's partner, who was an american, ( also the guy he was named after), if he would help marcus get a green card to the US.
Over 5 years later, he was a fun US citizen, and had already begun building his dream, a women's shelter.
(During his five years he got his bachelor's degree in business management.)
At 24, he had saved enough money to open, with the lucrative business partnered, his namesake, a hotel/casino combo.
Ever since, he's been living quite well, and bi-monthly, hold charity drives and auctions for the local women's shelter, and civil rights movements back in his home country.
