Chapter 3
Utopia Unhinged - Interactive
Dennis sat in the garden of his office on a warm Summer afternoon. He took a sip of his Iced Tea and sighed. He was inredibly lonely. Dennis Fireheart was 41, and single. He knew everybody in town, but he didn't really have any friend to chill with. It was disconcerting.
Dennis, who had finally had enough of his own misery, stood up and entered his office, locking the door behind him. Swiftly grabbing his coat and keys, he locked up the office and briskly walked down Main Street. He didnt need his coat, it was a particularly warm afternoon, however, he rarely left home without it. It was hanging over his shoulder.
Before he knew it, Dennis was standing at the beach front. He saw people sitting on the sand, sitting on their beach towels, enjoying one-anothers company.
"WAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!" A scream tore through the air, like a child tearing paper from his Christmas Gifts. Dennis looked toward the sound, gasping. "That's coming from the bank!" Dennis ran as fast as he could to the Moonberry bank, and burst through the door. "GIGI?!" Dennis shouted. He saw the blonde haired woman standing atop a chair. "Uhm, hello Mayor." She sounded quite shaken. "I think I saw a mouse!" Dennis looked around, he couldn't see any such thing. "Gigi, get down from the chair." He said, a little annoyed. "But what if it comes back?" She asked. "It won't." He said defiantly. He held out a hand to help her off the chair. "If it worries you so much, leave the Bank for a moment." Gigi took the Mayors hand and smiled. She got off the chair and thought about his offer...

Okay everyone, this chapter is interactive. So, basically the idea is to show how things are basically going wrong all around town. Add your own parts to the chapter, so we can lay the groundwork for chapter 4 where we start to fix up the town.

((Can I work off of the horrible state of my new restaurant? xD)) Kio stared at the practically destroyed building that would one day become his restaurant. He went inside, noticing what was obviously once the nest of some animal. He began surveying the kind of repairs he would need to make.

Arwen sighed. Her mind was to cluttered to work. She dropped her hammer and took a drink from her canteen. She let the breeze of the sea run freely through her hair. She smiled softly and closed her eyes and let the wind run its course.

((Yeah, sure Kio. That's kinda the idea. SHow some sort of crazy mishap.))
Tobias walked slowly along the Main Street, hands in his pockets. The lint was tickling his fingers a little. He saw the old field that had provided much entertainment for him and alot of other kids over time. He smiled and couched, and passed through the middle of the old fence, paint peeling off the hardwood. He looked around before walking up to the tree. Without really thinking he put his arms around the tree, and grinned. He took in a breath, as if trying to smell the odourless tree. It was like memories had wafted in his nasal passage as opposed to a scent. He smiled, and opened his eyes, stepping back from the tree. He spotted the tire swing tied onto the branch. He smiled mischieviously and sat on the swing, rocking gently back and forth. All of a sudden Tobias heard a creaking sound. "What was that?" He said aloud to himself. The creaking instantly harshened to cracking, and he knew what would happen. He jumped out of the way of the falling branch just in time. "Wow, that was close." He rubbed his left knee, which he had landed on hard. Picking up the branch, Tobias inspected it. He naturally assumed that it was his weight that caused the break in the branch. But to his surprise it was rotted. A baby could have made it collapse.

Kio sighed, then pulled a rotten board from the wall. "Jesus!" He yelled as about 10 crabs jumped out at him. "This is gonna take longer than I thought..." He threw some more rotting wood out the front. He looked around for anything that would be close to the small pile that could catch on fire. Finding none, he poured a small amount of fuel onto the pile and set it on fire. He moved back inside, grabbed more rotting wood and throwing it in.

Mina looked around her little shop once again, there were still numerous boxes. "Ugh...I'm never going to get this shop open!" She crossed her arms, and closed her eyes as she let her head tilt to the side. "I guess I'm just going to have to try harder!" The teal-haired girl bent over to pick up a box, and tried her hardest to pick it up. She took a few steps towards the door when she noticed something tickling her hand. She looked over on the side of the box, and there it was; a giant, furry spider, staring at her with it's many little eyes. Mina, in return, stared at the arachnid. "Oh, hello there!" She smiled, and sat down the box with the spider on it. The spider crawled onto her hand, as Mina watched it's every movement. "Aren't you a handsome spider?" She blinked a few times, as the stinging sensation struck. "Sweet Kalista!" Mina moved her hand quickly and sent the spider flying at the wall. A small bite started to swell on her hand. "...Ugh." She sat down on the box she dropped and placed her face in her hands. She didn't notice the beetle crawling over her shoe. "Bug problems."

"MISS KITASHA THE BATHS ARE AS COLD AS DEATH!" Marie Spenser would storm into the kitchen in nothing but a towel. She'd grab Kuro's hand and force her to drop the fish she was working on skinning. "If this continues, I'm going to stop telling people to come to this nothing little village on vacations! Infact, I'll see that you get labeled as the -worst- vacation spot in the whole continent!" She'd say and toss the innkeeper's hand down.
Kuro bit her lip hard in anger as she picked her knife back up and returned to skinning the fish. "As soon the dinner your husband said I needed in less that 20 minutes is done, I'll check the heaters." She'd say as Marie would storm out, Kuro would sigh heavily as she'd turn to Eitan. "Things were so much easier when the grapes still grew, If we had a bad summer with the inn, than the Wine we sold would make up for it... As much as I hate the Spensers... if they stop coming... and stop telling their friends to come.... this Inn will be gone in just a season or two and I'll be broke." She'd say with a heavy sigh as she'd plate the Sashimi carefully before going to the eggplant and miso already stewing. "And theres so many cafe's that opened in the past few months... It's so much competition for where people eat...." She'd say with a heavy sigh.
"MISS KITASHA THERES NO WATER AT ALL NOW!"
"Good Goddess I hate that woman...."

Eric pushed his glasses back up. His plans for the garden were almost done. The new house was pretty bare and there was no garden. But then again there wasn't much that he had brought with him. A sleeping back, a small grill, clothing, books that now lay around the house. He had enough for his wood supplies, but each and every time a letter from his father came, the more he wanted to see the old man. Not that he missed his old live of wealth and luxury, but that he just missed his father. He preferred the simple life in the country. He smiled thinking about the girl from yesterday, how she liked flowers. Maybe it wasn't a weird think that he liked flowers. Max rubbed his leg begging to go outside, even for a bit. Happily Eric got up to please the young dog with a walk.

Kayoni looked around her small, cramped house. It was totally messy with bags and boxes everywhere. "I have to start putting stuff in it's place," she said aloud. She moved with small steps across to the kitchen and peered out the window. Well, what was left of the window. Kayoni saw the window had been broken. By what? She wasn't sure. How am I going to get this cleaned up? she wondered to herself. It's been 3 monthes and I haven't done anything! She deeply sighed and looked at her journal. "At least I have this," she said to herself. Kayoni took her bag and journal upstairs leaving the house in a complete mess.

Stella looked around her new home. She quickly noticed that almost every surface was covered thickly with dust. She set her bags down and began looking around the house. Every room was painted blue besides the bathroom which was covered from ground to ceiling in tile. Everything else seemed to be in good condition, besides the large amount of dust and occasional loose floor boards that let out a high pitched squeek if you stepped on them. Stella walked into the small but functional kitchen and noticed about eight bugs crawling around in the sink, "EEECK!! DISGUSTING! GOD!" Stella cried out in disgust. She grabbed onto the handle for the tap and turned it on. To her surprise water came rushing out. All the bugs went flying down the hole in the sink. "Thankgod that's over with. I hope that wont happen again. God this place is a mess, thanks Grandma." Stella thought to herself. She was already slightly discouraged and wondered if this was the right idea, moving here.

"................." Misaki, standing from behind the counter of her cafe, stared at the front door. "..........................nobody." She seemed to tremble for a bit. "Nobody." Suddenly she felt like flipping over a table. "Nobody's coming to my cafeeeeeee~!" You could hear crickets chirping if you listened hard enough. She let her head fall onto the counter. "After all that cleaning up.....and for what! KOOONNNNNNN!"

Being young Sinamin thought her life was hard enough already but she had no idea how hard living in the country was, so as she approached That big ol' building that looked oh so nice she thought opening her bakery might be a little easier than expected.
Well, appearances are deceiving.
Sinamin looked around her entirely empty, well save for that cockroach eww, newly leased Bakery, wishing there was some way she could just have it all instantly brought to life. 'Well, enough thinking about this let's get out of here and do something productive.' And what a good Idea that was because as soon and she left her former position that piece of wood broke revealing the cellar. 'thank you intuition.'

Kio yawned as he watched the large bonfire continue to eat away at the wood. He smiled as he realized how close he was getting to having his own restaurant. Slowly standing up, he grabbed a hand full of sand and threw it into the fire. He walked back into the building that was beginning to take shape and took into account the rest of the work he would need to do.
