The Family!
The Mother:
Info: Complain some more! Complaining is Maureen's life, even when she's happy, she'll complain. Often times she'll end up annoying others with her rants about people she hates and the men that she hates. She enjoys sitting on a stoop (her home) and complaining to everyone that stops by. Unlike, Aristol, she doesn't like to risk her life out on the streets.
The father:
Info: Aristol is a bit of a tomcat, in every sense of the word. A stray since birth he's a street roamer and fairly good at getting by on his own. He wasn't exactly expecting to find himself a father, and while he's not really thrilled with the situation he intends to, begrudgingly at times, take his youngsters under his wing and teaching them the ways of survival if he has to. He's not a bad father, he's just a young guy himself and prone to wander...so he's not likely to be the model of parenthood either.
The siblings:
Boy one; Cambric, already has an owner. No personality notes yet.
Girl one; Sashimi, owned by Jir.
Twin one; Avril. Owned by Hezakai. This pretty little girl looks as though she may take after her father, maybe because he intends to look after her himself because she shows all the signs of being a sly street cat already. She's quiet, but smart, observant; and very likely to take out on her own later in life, not for dislike of family but more for a chance to make her own way.

The prompts!
And here's the boy in question.
The twin brother to Avril; but not much else is known about him yet, that part is up to you!
The prompts: We decided to do this with some plan for RP in mind beyond just this contest. The following prompts are specific, one to Aristol and the other to Maureen; and one for a setting that involves neither and you are welcome to answer whichever you wish to. The reason for the prompts this way is to give the option of the player of the kitten either having a setting for their pet remaining with the mother or the father; obviously their life will be different depending because Ari and Maureen don't run the same paths in life. We're just offering a springboard to start RPing if you'd like one; you're not under obligation to start there if you win the pet if you don't wish to.
Prompt One: Aristol's Prompt It's time to learn that so very important skill; stealing. Aristol has a nice little catch set up and it just could not be more simple; swipe the sandwich a careless construction worker has left lying on a low wall while he talked to a few friends. Time to show Aristol what the little kitten can do, or more a lack of it if that's the case; and win the tomcat's approval or just prove there's that much more work to be done. Note; in this prompt you do not need to play Ari's reactions, only the kittens actions and side of things.
Prompt Two: Maureen's Prompt After spending some time with your mother, you realize that she is very different from your father. Instead of being a wanderer, she tends to stay where her home is. Often times you hear her mention how much of a slob your father is, and how pathetic he is. Will you stand up for your beloved father? Or will you stand up for your mother and agree with her?
Prompt Three: Out in the Big Wide World The scent of something has caught the attention of the kitten, and instead of staying with the rest of the family on their outing to the park the youngster wanders away. How far does the venture take them and what do they find? What leads them away from home and starts their life out in the world all alone, and is it something they embrace or a regret that troubles them?
Entry Form:

And that's it! Have fun everybody!

Username: [ Lady Kiya ] Pet's Name: Kaushal Short Personality Explanation: He's a bit of a complainer, but only when things don't go his way. He's outgoing, and tries to impress anyone that's near him. Who ever he think is worthy of his attention would be the one he's most likely would try to impress. Prompt:

Kaushal eyed the sandwich, then back at his dad. He wasn't sure about this, but it seemed almost too easy. He made his way slowly over to where it was. But in a stealth mode. Or what he thought would be stealth mode. Think like his father.... Be swift on his feet. Stealing would be fun. Plus, he had his twin sister to impress. What would happen if he did it wrong? She'd never let him forget about it, he was sure.
The men were still busy talking, but one glanced over, but seemed to not notice him. Though, it still made him stop completely in his tracks for a moment. Humans were scary. Or at least that's what he thought. Once he started moving again, he'd glance up at the humans every once in a while to make sure the coast was clear. Right as he got there, it seemed the humans were done talking. No! He took too long! But he still had time. He was determined.
Quicker, now, he was now to where the sandwich was, but he still had to jump to get it. Now in a slight panic, he started to jump for the sandwich. Though, it was still low enough to where he could jump on the wall and easily grab at the sandwich. But another problem showed. Kaushal had no idea how he was going to actually pick it up. It was on some type of cloth, or whatever it was. Maybe that was a good way to pick it up. He eyed the humans, still talking, but one looking as if he was getting hungry and wanting to get back to the almost stolen sandwich.
He grabbed a hold of a corner and started to pull it. First gently, then faster once the human that was now coming back, noticed his sandwich was moving. "GET BACK HERE YOU... YOU VERMIN!" Whatever that meant. Kaushal went as fast as he could dragging the food with his mouth and trying to run backwards. Not like he was going fast, but there was some bushes where his family was. He needed a ton more work, and would be angry at himself later because of how pathetic he was today.

Username: Ruler of Everything Pet's Name: Chariton (Derived from Greek, meaning "grace, kindness" - an ironic name ;]) Short Personality Explanation: According to Chari's name, he's graceful, kind... but really? He is anything but. Chariton is clumsy and mean, bitter and egotistical. He can complain quite a bit when he plans out something and it doesn't go the way he planned, but not nearly as much as Maureen does. The only upside to his personality is that he lives to please. Prompt: #1
It all seemed so... easy. Just swipe the sandwich and go. The man wasn't even looking! And yet... Chariton was afraid. He was afraid of many things. Being caught, being one of the highest on his list. But his biggest fear? Not pleasing Aristol. His father had been a roamer of the streets all his life, and if this was his job he'd do it without thinking. This simple case of stealing was nothing to someone like Aristol. But to someone like Chariton? No experience, no knack for stealing... this was bound to be a disaster, Chari thought.
Chariton stalked forward a few steps, wary of the man who stood just feet away. The man kept glancing around and Chari had no idea why. Was he conscious and knowing of the small kitten that was to attempt to steal his sandwich in only a few moments? Chari shivered, aware of what a full-grown male human could do to a small kitten like him, and unwilling to let anything happen.
Chari decided to jump leap forward, going as fast as he could to the sandwich. He leapt forward, landing in front of the low wall that the sandwich lay atop and... landed with a thud on his honey-colored bottom. He heard his father shouting and looked up. A giant shadow was looming over him - that of a very large man! Chari scrambled, trying to get out of there. Somehow he managed to escape and when he reached his father with gasping, shallow breaths he no longer cared about pleasing him. It was all about Chari now. The world had seemingly turned it's back against him, and he didn't like it. He didn't like it one bit.

Username: Muse lore Pet's Name: Avis Short Personality Explanation: Avis is a bit of an odd ball, he ends to do nothing right and will end up crying about it in the end. However he smiles a lot and loves to make people happy. He cares for his family but especially his twin sister. Though Avis is a bit on the skittish side of things, he will stick up for what he believes in. Using Prompt one. Prompt: Avis sneaked forward, the sandwich in sight as he watched the human make a bunch of noises he really didn’t understand. He carefully snuck forward ears tilting back as he hesitated as one of the men suddenly laughed and slapped his knee, but when he went back to making noise Avis slunk forward more, his nose twitching at the smell of the sandwich that was so close to him. He carefully watched where he was going; scared he would fall off the rails. As he got closer one of the men doubled over laughing again, the sound was like the barking off a dog making the fur along Avis back stand up.
He was only a few feet from it, just a little closer and he would be able to get it. Tail twitching he snuck ever closer until he was biting the sandwich and he could taste it in his mouth. Suddenly something grabbed the back of his neck and he hissed in surprise and struggled before stilling and curling into a small ball, he was looking straight at a human and it was the human who was holding him. 'Eh, look at this little thing, it tried to take my food, what do you think its hungry?’ The other human looked at him as the other made some noise. 'I think it may be hungry, else why take the food?'
Both the humans were looking at him now, he didn’t like it and yowled unhappily until the human holding him let him go but before he could run off the sandwich was dropped back in front of him. He froze in his place, looking at the offered thing and then back to the humans. The whole point of this test was to steal it, but he wasn’t stealing it they were giving it to him. Flicking his ears he sighed to himself and turned and walked away, once more hearing the bark like laughter of the humans. 'Yeh would think the little fella doesn’t take handouts.' Avis ignored them both and made his slow way home. He failed this time, he had gotten caught, but next time he would do it.

username ; noxilicious pet's name ; Cuifen short personality explanation ; He's a bit of a loner, sticking to himself when among others, but makes an effort to include himself in important going ons. And unlike his father, he too feels a sense of belonging and loyalty towards a home and towards a single human. He worries about his sister's independence from everything that has defined house cats for generations. Definitley takes more from his mother than his father. prompt ; Numero Uno response ;
Ugh, why did he have to get dragged into this? Cuifen growled softly in his throat as he followed his oblivious father. Avril would be into this. She would dive into it, ready to do anything like this, but him? Not so much.
Maybe his dad wanted to prove something to himself. Maybe that there was a little piece of himself alive and well in Cuifen. Well, the calico kitten thought bitterly, maybe there wasn't. Then why was he here? Aristol was just enteraining his own stupid little fantasy. The pair stopped and Cuifen could see the prize.
A sandwich. A silly sandwich. A roll of the eyes and a cuff on the ear from Aristol later, he found himself sneaking forward over the pavement. Here went nothing. His progress ceased as one of the big human's shadow fell on him.
For a few agonizing seconds, his heart beat in his throat. The shadow fell away, and he breathed a sigh of quiet relief. An impatient mew behind him kept him moving forward. The prize was inches above his face, and the scent of it wafted down to him on a gentle breeze.
His nose wrinkled in disgust. Ham. He wouldn't even eat ham if his human gave a piece to him. This was so nasty! He took the sandwich in his teeth, feeling the taste of it across his tongue. Cuifen resisted the urge to gag.
Running back towards the safety of the bushes where his father waited, he heard the angry voices of the big humans yelling after him. As he passed Aristol, he spat the sandwich at his feet and keep on walking. So what if he passed his father's little test.
He had no interest in stealing or being a stray. Sooner or later, Aristol would have to realize that sometimes, the apple response ;[i]does[i/] land far from the tree. Far from the tree.

Username: evil pirate duck Pet's Name: Roger Short Personality Explanation: Roger is, to put it simply, a lost kitten. Most everyone else in the family seems to know what they want to do when they're older, but Roger is... well, he's not so sure. Being a street cat would be awesome, because he'd get to be on his own and see the world, but being a house cat would mean he didn't have to search for food or affection. He's torn between two words (where he loves his father dearly and his mother's complaints are tolerable), and it's very likely that he'll attach to his sister and stay with her if possible. Prompt: #2
It was well after mid-day that the usual drama began.
Maureen was complaining about Aristol, as she often did, and while Cambric, Sashimi and Avril were all busy playing together, Roger was sitting on the lowest step of the stop, his mother above him growling about how much of a slob the dark chocolate manx tom was. He was used to this, of course, and it was usually Avril who told her mother that complaining about him when she had kits with him was like trying to convince a squirrel it didn't have a tail; in other words, it made no sense, and it was pointless.
But Avril wasn't here. She was inside, romping with their brother and sister, while he was left to listen to the biting remarks her mother would grumble out every now and then. He often wondered if she did it to make them feel bad, or to make them feel unwanted, but he would always scold himself and know that, somewhere, she loved them. However, it was painfully clear that she didn't love their father, and it confused him to no end. He was lost in thought, as usual, and it was one string of words that brought his attention from the deep recesses of his mind back to the reality of the situation. ".... pathetic slob." He looked up, and saw his mother staring at him, and cringed mentally. Had she been talking to him? He couldn't tell. "What, mother?" She hissed lightly, and held her head higher. "I said your father was a pathetic slob." He sighed, and shook his head, prompting another hiss and a confused look.
"You should know that's not nice, mother. You'll be a bad example for Sashimi and Cambric."
She flexed her paws and ignored the statement. "You're his son, Roger. What do you plan to do?" He thought about making the statement that Cambric was Aristol's son, too, but thought it would only gain him a cuff on the ear. Instead, he looked out over the street, and tilted his head. "Oh, I don't know. The house is so nice, but..." He could hear her snort. "It's the wild blood, I guess." Suddenly, he looked up at her. "Mother, can a cat be both indoor and out?" She raised an eyebrow, and crossed her paws delicately, rolling her shoulder in a small shrug. "I can't see why you'd want to be. As a street cat you get so dirty. You're father is probably the dirtiest cat I know. He comes in here acting like he owns the street and--" "Mother, we're not talking about him. We're talking about what I'm going to be, remember?" He sighed again (he seemed to be doing a lot of that today), and waited for some sort of remark. "Don't interrupt me, Roger. You're manners are worse than that slob of a manx."
He laid his head on his paws in defeat. There was no chance of fighting with her about it, and he knew she would never shut up about anything. The birds were always too noisy and the food was always too dry or too wet or too chunky. "Yes, mother," he said in a hushed tone. What he wouldn't give for Avril to come out soon, or for Aristol to come and give him street lessons. It seemed that today he would have to put up with her complaints and have no savior for quite some time. Soon after, she began to launch complaints at him left and right, and while he tried to listen so as not to seem like he was ignoring her, he fell into his usual thrum of thoughts, his eyes heavy-lidded and his mind afire. Hopefully, he could get hungry soon, so he could go inside and not come back out for at least an hour.
He smiled at the thought. He did love his food.
