Welcome to the Second Empire Planet System
So you are a group leader and you want to know what the rank next to your planet means. Well each rank is approximately how much each planet is worth. Ranks allow you to buy ships and regulate how many bases can be placed on a planet. Every planet has rank, weather or not the planet can be owned or not.
Ownership
Planets can be broken down into two categories, owned planets and free planets. Free planets are always free and cannot be conquered. This is for the purpose of keeping safe havens for people who do not want to affiliate with any group. Any owned planet can be taken over or liberated. In order to take over or liberate a planet all large group bases must be taken over or destroyed. Free planets cannot be occupied by large groups at all. Small groups cannot have control over planets.
The listing of permanently free planets: Zeltros, Manaan, Toprawa, Kubindi, Kashyyyk Asteroid Field, Cerea, Osarian, Dorvalla, Kamino, Eriadu, Commenor.
Points and Ships
Each planet gives off a certain amount of points. The amount of points can be seen here.
We will use these two planets as an example to explain how the system works. In this case there are two planets, one worth 12 and one worth 20. The combined points equal 32. With those 32 points you can go to the Ship Listing and pick out 32 points worth of ships. You could take two
Scythe-Class Main Battle Cruiser each worth 5 points and then you are left with 22 points. You could then take ten E-Wing Escort Starfighter each worth one point leaving you with 12 points. Add in three YT-1930 Light Freighter each worth three points leaving you with three points. These three points stay with your group and roll over into the next month. You can spend points when ever you want at any point in the month as long as you have points to spend.
Point Rollover and Gaining
Every month all groups are awarded points for the planets they control. All large groups gain every point that a planet is worth. All small groups gain 1/2 points of every planet they have a base on. Starting August 15th 2008 points will be awarded every month on the 15th. Points do roll over and can add up if a group does not want to spend points every month.
