Acetaminophen frowned as the sun hit his glasses, and nearly blinding him with its rays. It wasn't that he really needed the glasses, but that they were more a part of his identity, so rather than take them off and continue trekking, he strayed from the dry plain ahead of him, to a more civilized route. Civilized, at least, in the sense that there was a hard path, and a sole tree along its path. Coming closer to the shade, he quickly trotted towards it, and immediately flung himself onto his belly to wait for the sun to set. In the meantime, he would either nap, or watch whatever being that passed his way.

Haru was lost again. This always happened to him... he would be walking purposefully in a specific direction and then find himself somewhere else. Today brought him to a peculiar place that seemed to not belong anywhere near a forest. That's where he had been traveling, just moments ago. Now he was under the bright sun. Normally he would enjoy the warmth it gave, but he was already hot from traveling in his jacket. He took a look around, trying to gather his bearings.

Acetaminophen took a drowsy look around. To his left, hardly distinguishable through the heat and humidity, a writhing inscet on the horizon, ruins of some sort. To his right, something else, moved by the heat, but not quite the stationary mirage of the buildings. It was an ulaya, more compelled than moved, and headed his way. Ace lazily pushed his spectacles further up the bridge of his nose, in a fashion much like his unknown father's. Satisfied with his sight, he then laid his head on his paws, to see if the ulaya would venture any closer.
And with any luck, it would.

Finally spotting something in the distortion that the waves of heat put off, Haru thought he saw something not too far in the distance. The bright yellow of it stood out in the blandness of the rest of his surroundings. Since he had no idea where he was, at least there was something he could focus his attention to. He started making his way over to it, head drooping from how tired he was. How long had he been traveling now? And when was the last time he had had something to drink? It must have been several hours. He smacked his lips, and they were completely dry... so was his nose for that matter. He needed to find water as soon as he could.

Ace's solemn maw grew into a twisted smile as it came closer and closer, the heavy foot-falls now penetrating the thick air. Subconsciously, his own tail began thumping to their rhythm, a sound like heartbeat that only added to his exhaustion. Smile still crossing his face, and ears still attentive to the approaching ulaya, Acetaminophen closed his eyes once more and tried to measure the steps.
Were they close together like a kit's, or indicative of the longer legs of an adult?
All four were there and in time, so yes, this was an ulaya, and though probably exhausted, uninjured. It was more than he could distinguish through the heat, but Ace's brows furrowed as his curiosity reigned. Was it a male or a female ulaya coming to cross his path?
