The Labyrinth

What appears to be first a simple cave descends into the earth. The tunnel slopes down until all light is gone from the above world, yet a faint glow shines in the distance. Emerging on to a rocky ledge, a huge maze is revealed below. The entire maze is lit by luminescent crystals that emerge from the rocky walls. Two paths lead from the ledge and descend to the maze, one entering on either side.

RULES:

1) If you wish to undergo a training session, please PM me. If you wish to train alone, feel free but know that it may be interrupted for another non-solo training session.

2) The right path is no magic of any kind allowed. This is mainly an intellectual test, as well as straight-up combat. The left path will evaluate your use of magic.

3) All elements are welcome.

4) The center of the maze contains a difficult challenge. You may choose to accept this, exit the maze, or bypass it. You may exit at the center, or exit to the other side, but you must obey that side's rules (See #2)

5) The walls are indestructible. You cannot teleport, move through them, knock them down or in any way bypass them. You may use magic to help you navigate, but not bypass the walls.

6) Be warned: you will find more than stones in this underground cave. This will test your mind, your creativity, and your fighting will.

A challenger approaches! The left path opens its gate. Beyond is a fork in the path, left or right?

"This seems like an okay place to train" Recnam said to himself. He left the others to do whatever it is they were doing in order to get stronger. Training in a cave was sure to build up sweat. Recnam went down into the cave in order to begin his training. As he continued going down, he noticed that light was disappering at a rapid pace, and somewhat reappering. It didn't matter to him though, for he was willing to fight in the dark. Before he knew it, there was no light from the outside world, and instead a light at the end of the tunnel. "Since i have no other choice.." Recnam said slightly afraid and dubioius as he continued to go towards the light. There was nothing that could take him out. After all he was an apprentice of thunder. After showing himself to the light, it was revealed to be a labrinth with paths. "A labrinth...sure, why not, it'll be good to explain to Kiyo that i trained in a maze" Recnam said as he proceeded left.

It seemed the safest and it was closer to him.

The walls stood silent and still as the new challenger approached. The gate still loomed wide, waiting for his choice of direction. Magic was allowed on this side, but more than magic would be needed to survive.

Recnam continued down the path as he looked at the walls and how they were formed. After all that was all that he could see. "I probably will get the answer, but why were their 2 i wonder?" Recnam said to himself as he had Telis in his right hand behind his neck. After thinking about it, the important thing was that he had to survive, for the cave was open and anybody could be around the corner

or anything.

The cave echoed to Recnam's footsteps. Suddenly, he came across the first challenge. Two spiders, each as large as a large dog, had spun webs across the path. They each were at an upper corner of the webs and poison dripped from their fangs.

"Seems like this is home for more then regular insects" Recnam said as he encountered the spiders from walking even more. He looked at their poison and assumed that physical attacks wasn't the best thing. Plus he needed to work on his electricity. "Hope this works" Recnam said as he charged up electricity in his left hand before flashing his palm towards the first spider towards the left. A beam of electricity rushed towards the target and when it did, the spider of course got electrocuted. Recnam then moved his hand slightly towards the other spider as electricity left the other spider and rush towards the other one. In other words, Recnam had unleashed what was known as chain lightning. When he ceased his attack, the spider's had quickly dropped on the ground before he said" Hm..not as bad as i thought it would be".

The charred spider husks dropped to the floor, steaming slightly. Suddenly, the lights were extinguished. Recnam was pitched into utter darkness. In the dark, rustling could be heard, along with the sound of more spiders, sliding out of holes. The crystals had reversed their phosphorescence and any light in the area was immediately extinguished. Recnam would have to fight this one in the dark.

(lemme know if im wrong with this one)
Recnam walked towards the spider web and gave it a quick swipe with his blade as his passage was safe again. Soon as he did however, he began to proceed when everything went dark. He became more dubioius when he heard more spiders sliding out of holes. He held out his left hand as a moderate sized ball of electricity. Since it was producing light as well, it gave him a heads-up where the enemies were. It wasn't as great a regular light, but it would do. He then enlarged the moderate size ball to where he was able to see a few spiders. Recnam unleashed his chain lightning move once more towards the spiders with his left hand until they were dead. Once then he began to proceed quickly through the direction the left side of the maze would take him.

((Not exactly what I had in mind, but we'll keep going))

Suddenly Recnam could feel the floor soften. A full 50 foot stretch of the corridor was somehow odd. And Recnam was smack in the middle of it. Not wholly earth, not wholly water, Recnam was buried up to his waist in quicksand.

(quicksand..nice and is my char still in the dark)

As Recnam began to proceed, he felt something odd underneath his feet. He assumed that it was a swamp or somethinig similar to that. If so, he had no problem passing that. however he felt it get closer towards his body upward as he then felt it near his waist. After finding himself sink a little, he realized that he was in quick sand. The ball of electricity from earlier was still with him as he then concentrated his electrical energy and placed it underneath his feet. In seconds, Recnam was ascending from the quicksand as he finally managed to get out of it. In other words, he was levitating He then proceeded forward in the air as the ball of light showed ground which didn't seem affected by the quicksand as he descended and kept moving. Whatever it was at the center had to be rewarding.

As Recnam proceeded, light began to emanate once more from the crystal walls. As he turned the next corner, he came across a dead end. Etched into the wall was a riddle: Black I am and much admired, men seek me until they're tired. When they find me, they break my head, and take from me my resting bed. What am I? There was a small bed of sand at the base of the wall for Recnam to write his answer.

((Go ahead and try. If you can't get it, another path will open, but it's a longer one.))

When Recnam continued his way, he noticed that light appeared once more. Even more was that there was no monsters or anything. This was what was called in Recnam's eyes, a checkpoint. The ball of electricity vanished as he saw a riddle on the wall. "A riddle..this should be interesting" he thought as he took his time to read it, as well as rest. Shortly after, he began to think what it was. "Black i am...break my head and take me...." he thought to himself. "Men seek me until they're tired" he then said to himself. After resting, Recnam read it once more and thought that their were two answers. But it was obvious that it was only one, and since Recnam assumed that he had the right answer, he looked at the bed of sand to place his answer. "That should be it...i hope" he said as he was finished and awaited any event.

"Wedding Ring"

((ok no problem))

The floor dropped out from under Recnam, dropping him into an underground chamber. The ceiling then re-sealed, blocking off that route. The room was dimly lit, but giant letters were scrawled on the wall. COAL. Only one corridor led off into the sub-maze, and through it, the distant sound of running water could be heard.
