The destroyed city of Kioku was a secret valley hidden deep inside this dense, overgrown forest until it was discovered by whatever malicious force sought its ruin. One way or another, this forest is the only way out of that place, which is bad luck to say the least. At the best of times, this forest had been dangerous, inhabited by large, wild predators always on the hunt. But now all of those comparatively harmless creatures are dead, replaced by unnatural abominations that stalk these woods from the time the sun falls over the horizon until it peeks out at the lands again in the morning. In that time, nothing escapes the notice of these inhumanly skillful hunters. If you are caught here at night, then you don't think for a second you could even sneak through this place. You would be lucky to get out alive.

Then there are the rumors. It is said that after the first memory plagued Kioku, more spread like wildfire through this forest, filling it with the pain and misery felt by the people those memories contained, being displayed for any who happen by to see. The creatures of this forest, however, seem to feel no remorse.

As Windy walked in to her different part of the forest, she drew her bow and took a sip from the jar strapped to her hip. A leopard appeared and began stalking around her. She took an arrow from her quiver and notched it on her bowstring.

"The demons should be here..."

But nothing came. She waited, walking silently on her path, and listened for the sound of an attack. But nothing came. Silently, she sent her leopard spirit out to investigate. It slinked off into the forest, while Windy sat down. She didn't have to wait long for the spirit to return.

She realized immediatly what happened. The demons were attacking someone to the south of her. It was a bit out of her way, but it was her job. She rushed off to save the poor soul.

Her arrow pierced a demon at the same moment that her leopard ate another one. She continued to do this until she saw the outline of the figure she was saving. It was humanoid, at least.

"Hey, why don't you give us a hand here?"

Windy noticed in surprise that she knew that voice. It was the man she had met just a while ago. She shot another demon.

"Well, sorry Freddie, or whatever your name was. I didn't know it was you. All Scoria reported was that demons were attacking someone some distance from here. As I have already told you, I have made it my job to heal the people affected by this war, as well as chronicaling it. Defense is the better part of healing, you know."

Scoria leaped onto another demon and ripped out it's throat.

"Now, let me see that wound. I'll get you fixed up in a jiffy."

"Oh, great," Felix muttered to himself as he saw the girl fall from the trees. He dodged over quickly to stop the demons from catching her while she stood up.

"That depends on the way you look at it," Felix replied a little more harshly than he had meant to, "If you can fight, I suggest you stand up and do so now." He looked over toward Windy again and raised his voice, "Either way, I think we could hold these things off indefinitely, but there doesn't seem to be any end to these things. It might just be best to get out of here before they completely surround us."

Yukari looked behind her. "Oh, I see we have company." Smirking like the devil, she grabbed a katana from it waist-mounted position and started to slice the un-welcomed party to peices. "I haven't had fun in a while--" She said inbetween swings,"So this really let's my anger come out!" Yukaria had chopped almsot half of the hoard to bits, so she suddenly paused and said,"Oh yeah. I never heard--" She doged a blow to the head,"What are your names?" Being caught up with talking, a demon had managed to leave a mild scratch on her cheek. Anger-ridden, Yukaria dove sharp talons into the beast's chest. "Stupid worthlesss demons think they can best me....bah, yeah right."

"Yukaria." Ducking downwards to avoid a swipe, she continued. "Nice to meetcha'." She had now returned the katana to it's resting position, and was using claw and tooth to rip the enemy to shreds. A few moments later, Yukaria started using lightning with her attacks. If one looked closely enough, they could see the lightning on the tips of her fingers. "What's up with Ms. Bad attitude over there? Bad hair day?" Chuckling to herself, she roundhouse kicked the head off of another demon.

Yukaria was a little more than ticked. "Yeesh, can you not hear?! Yukaria! And don't wear it out!" Without meaning to, she had started to slice the beasts two at a time. "Damm, I hate it when people do that..." She was able to mutter while cutting through yet two more foes. Shooting a burning hot bolt of lightning, she had killed seven at once. "I wish I had Mitsuki...She could really kick some sense into these guys!"

"I CAN hear you, ya know that?" At the time of that remark, a demon had been able to bite down on her left arm. Hissing in slight pain, she flipped onto it's back and plunged her right hand through it's throat. "Die, you insignificant demons!" Pulling her wounded arm out of the corpse's mouth, Yukaria punched and bit her way into the hoard. "stupid, worthless, puny, annoying, good-for-nothing....." She continued to mumble words of hatred and words that would be criminal to print as she kept killing them off.
