I opened up my eyes and saw the sign.
I can't actually remember the song, but the lyric amused me

Oh hay guys
I have my happy pants on, rather than my usual angry ones, so now I bring you a thread that isn't a whinge about the latest gaia asshattery! In fact, this thread is totally unrelated to gaia.

Most people collect something. Stamps, coins, postcards, ornamental spoons... So this thread s dedicated to collections of stuff.
What do you collect?

I have a rather large collection of signs which I use to decorate my room. Most are street signs, but I have a few other random ones. Here is a guided tour of my signage:

User Image
This is the first one I got. The hospital where my mum works was being renovated, so she nicked this for me. It always amused me to have this over my door 'cause after all, who wouldn't want nurses changing in their room?

User Image
This was the first street sign I found. The guy next door was renovating for a while, and then randomly stopped for 6 months or so. My bedroom overlooked the work area, and one day I noticed the stopsign just sitting there. Noone went on the worksite for another month, so I went around an took it xd

User Image
This one was just sittin there on the nature strip next to the road when I was walking to my sis's place, so I just picked it up and kept walking

User Image
A friend of mine made me this as a present xd

User Image and User Image
Those two were a birthday present from my friend Alex. She still won't tell me where she got them from xd

User Image
That was from Alex again. She saw it in the street and saved it for me. I love this one 'cause it's so dead rofl

User Image
Otis saw this on his way to my house and decided to take it with him xp

User Image
My dad found this one. He won't tell me where xd

User Image
When I was at the beach with my mates, there was a really REALLY windy day. We were out that night and saw this sign, still attached to the pole by one screw. The pole however, was not attached to the ground, so I figured it wouldn't do any more harm to nick the sign xd
None of us had alan keys (I mean who walks around with alan keys!?) so Mikey and I had to wrench the sign off the pole.

User Image
This is my latest find. I met dad at his work, and we were going out to dinner with the rest of the family. In the carpark, I saw this just sitting by the wall. I jumped out of the car, checked for security cameras and chucked it in the boot xd

User Image
It's not a sign, but it's sort of in keeping with the theme. I was walking back to my place around 1am from Otis's place and figured noone would miss a traffic cone...

As tempting as it is to go around and take signs off poles, I'd feel bad doing it 'cause most of them are pretty important. I only take them if they're already down because I know if I don't, someone else will.
There's one that I really want because I saw it and lol'd. It says "elderly crossing". Lulz

That's my collection biggrin
What's yours?

You're so cute with your nature strip and carpark. xD

Your streetsign collection is great. One of my best friends lives on Notorious Way (no joke, yo), and his sign gets stolen regularly. It's on a super extra ridiculous pole now. In senior year he and another of our friends had a big falling out (they were pretty much attached at the hip before then) and so she and some other friends stole their sign like, six times. Should I make it down to your part of the world, I'll get one from her for you.

I'm a packrat, I collect too much crap.

I collect ticket stubs and notes written in class and such things that I keep in a big book of stuff.

Jewelry.

Avatars (in pixel form only, so far).

Anne Rice books.

What do you call the strip of grass between the road and the footpath sidewalk?

And what do you call a carpark?
I figure it's only a parking lot if it's just a big flat area
Carparks are like underground buildingy things

Strip of grass is the neutral ground in New Orleans, or the median anywhere else in America.

Parking lot is one flat surface, it's a parking garage if it's multilevel above or below ground.

It's called a median?
The ******** such a lame word eek

Yah, neutral ground is way better.

It's comes from the neutral ground on Canal St., which was the street dividing the old French part of the city from the new American sector after America took it over. That was where they could call truce. xD

I like nature strip
It sounds kinda like a hippy nudie show
PostPosted: Sat Jun 28, 2008 12:21 am

I do too. I might start using it.

'Cept I hate when chicks get the landing strip waxed in. Fail shape for pubes. But that's not very hippie anyway.

Wil Anderson (Aussie comedian) likened said that when girls had a landing strip, it was like making out with hitler xd

Robin Williams said fake tits are like Nazis - they don't move, they don't dance, they're just there, facing straight ahead. He does a good movement with that which I can't show in text.

Tch. We call a carpark "Underground Parking".

And the grass between the road and sidewalk? It's NOTHIN'. At least, I've never ever heard of it being called anything. Medians separate traffic.

My collection is pretty obvious... Junk from Japan. When I was little, I used to collect trolls, so I still have a bag full of them. I also collect stuffed animals. I told this dude I had 100+, and he didn't believe me. So I started up my webcam and proved it.
