He ran a hand over his hair, checking it for bumps or dips. Over, because there was too much gel in it to permit anything to run through it. That wasn't strictly true- he could comb it, if he wanted- but it was the biggest reason. Normally Rose wouldn't have even thought of doing anything with his hair, but the boss had insisted that every host look his best. And he looked damn good with the vast majority of his hair out the way- since his hair was short, though, he couldn't put it in a ponytail or something similar.

At least his hair didn't shine in the (admittedly very low-key and unobtrusive) lights. That would have not only been embarrassing, but very unbecoming. With a bored sigh- he was lazy, yeah, but he had been sitting here for twenty minutes talking to himself since all the hosts were spaced pretty far apart- he slumped in his seat. Certainly he could have stayed upstairs for all this time?

The doors opened (rather loudly; not because of a bell, but because of the boss's extremely enthusiastic greeting that Rose hoped he didn't have to duplicate) and he straightened, finding a dazzling smile somewhere in his repertoire. At least something was happening now.

She walked down the hall, her high heels (a shock to both her parents and herself) softly clacking against the floor. Normally, the blond would be excitedly running (and occasionally jumping up into the air due to sheer hyper-ness), but that simply didn’t seem like the proper way to behave in an establishment like this, much to her disappointment. Still, Rui could deal with the toned down behavior. She understood that this was supposed to be a high-class club after all.

What miffed her was the fact that she had to wear formal clothing (a plain green dress, to be exact). It wasn’t like the blond had anything against it, but it was just she didn’t like dresses. Bad for running and playing soccer. Of course, it wasn’t like she was allowed to do it here. A real disappointment, but the people here were fun to be with, and she would sacrifice the simple comforts of casual clothing and restrained behavior for that.

Adjusting the lightly decorated, jade green mask placed on her face, she took a quick glance inside each door, curious to see what lay inside. So far, it wasn’t much, but there wasn’t much to expect when the masquerade was just beginning. Give it some more moments of waiting and it’ll be kicking with life in no time.

Tilting her head to the side and her shoulders slumping, she frowned as she continued to wander. Occasions such as these tempted the girl to instead arrive late. Maybe then she wouldn’t have to come to such a quiet place and forced to patiently wait. Ah . . . but that seemed so rude, and someone had to be there to come on time.

Taking another glance in yet another door, she saw yet another empty room with yet another host. Cocking her head even more to the side, she stared at the bored-looking man with curious eyes. Rui didn’t pay too much attention to his looks. She never did. Instead, she opened the door, surprised at the awfully loud noise it made. ‘Did I open it too much?’ she thought with a puzzled look.

The host’s expression and posture immediately changed, straightening his back and plastering (it certainly didn’t look completely natural to her) a smile onto his face. Nonetheless, she returned it with a bright smile and an enthusiastic wave, walking over to him.

“Hi! I’m Rui,” she greeted and looked around, still smiling happily. “Kind of dull here, huh?”

[Syuu~ they are tables. 9__9;;]

It was a girl- that made him a little disappointed, since he preferred men himself- about a decade younger than himself. She looked nice enough, kind of uncomfortable though. Maybe she didn't often wear dresses? He knew a lot of girls- one especially- who hated to wear skirts of any sort. And besides that, she looked a little puzzled. Could just be a reaction to the club itself, which was pretty awe-inspiring, he had to say.

"Come sit down," he said warmly, with a wave of his hand in return; his gesture, though, was directed to one of the sleek chairs at his table. He stood and pulled it out, waiting until she sat to return to his own place. "My name is Rose; it's nice to meet you, Rui." He folded his hands on the table, a slightly more natural and certainly more realistic grin easing onto his face. "I think it's because we're just starting up. From what I know, it'll get a lot more lively as things go." Rose nodded, feeling knowledgeable.

((._.;; Meh. Oh well. Nothin' major.))

She plopped herself down in the seat she was nearest to, nearly leaving her legs spread apart and sinking into her chair before remembering her manners. Rui immediately sat back up straight and began to properly sit this time. Mentally berating herself, she kept repeating “Must not act so rude” in her mind, but she badly wanted to revert back to her childish antics.

Her legs lightly swung back and forth. Rui was always bursting with energy and was always itching to move (something that was easily solved by participating in various sports) and today was no exception. Needing to use the extra energy somehow, she hoped no one saw what she was doing.

Upon hearing his name, she wanted to blurt out “Hey isn’t that a girl’s name?”, but refrained from doing so just as her mouth opened, the words almost rolling off her tongue. Not wanting to be found out (he would certainly be annoyed, right?) she instead replaced it with, “It’s a pleasure to meet you, Rose.”

Leaning forward slightly, she placed her hands on the edge of her seat. Feeling her fingers wrap around the border and touch the wood underneath, she tapped against its smooth surface. Noticing that his smile (oh wait, that’s a grin) looked more genuine compared to before, her smile widened, easily elevating her mood.

Her elbows touched the table and she laced her fingers together, resting her chin on her interwoven hands. “Mm . . . Yeah . . . But the beginning’s so boring, ya know? I’m never really sure what I’m supposed to do because it’s so quiet,” she replied.

"Yeah, it's a girl's name," he said to her unasked question. "Mom was a bit weird." Rose didn't seem irritated at all, in fact if anything he seemed happier after getting that out of the way. "Yeah, that's true. Well..." He thought about it, tucking one hand along the curve of his cheek and watching his customer through lidded green eyes.

With a soft (somewhat dramatic) indrawn breath of realization, he said, "You could tell me about yourself, Rui. I'd like that."

She had a confused expression for a split second before realization dawned on her, instantly replacing it with a sheepish smile. "Oh . . . I see." On the positive side, he didn't look the least bit annoyed. That was a relief. She had no idea what to do if he had ended up being in a bitter mood instead.

Somewhat surprised by the suggestion, Rui blinked a couple times. "Eh? Me? Okay then." Giving herself a moment of thought, she later replied, "Well . . . I attend a private school (currently my last year there) and usually have an A- average. I also have two older brothers who . . . got me to play sports a lot when I was younger. I still do them, but mainly soccer."

She paused. "Did I say too much, too less, or . . . ?"

Why would he be annoyed? It was his brother's trademark, almost, to grumble and mutter about their names. (Especially Rose's middle name, which was even more feminine than his first; but he wouldn't share it. No, that would just be too cruel. The poor girl wouldn't be able to help but laugh.) He grinned at Rui."No, that was okay. Not what I was looking for, though. Like... What's your favorite color? Things like that."

He tilted his head a bit. "So you're good in school? What's your favorite subject?"

He looked good in a suit, but his suit was currently fitting him a little wrongly, if only because it had to conceal the dress that was underneath it. No, he wasn't a crossdresser, and yes, he even denied that he had any sort of inclination towards men. It was a bet, that was all. A bet he had lost to his twin brother. The sad thing was, Rose had never won one of their bets before, and so Dahlia had felt safe to risk his manliness that time. Of course, that would be the time when Rose won. It frankly pissed the hell outta Dahlia. But, Dahlia had found his loophole. He was wearing the god-be-damned dress, but had carefully hidden it away underneath a suit. No one would notice, hell, Lev hadn't noticed (because like hell he was going to tell Lev he was wearing a dress, let alone let the other man see him change). Dahlia was safe, and all he had to do was let Rose get a peek of his dress to reassure the other that he hadn't skimped out on their bet.

So, Dahlia went off in search of his brother, momentarily relieved that he no longer had any company at his side. It wasn't that difficult to find Rose, and with complete disregard to the woman sitting with Rose, he took a seat next to his brother, green eyes casually sweeping over the crowd, and eventually settling on Rui. But, she wasn't interesting him at the moment. He only came for his brother, and maybe he could just prove that he had worn the dress and take a cab out of here before the night was a quarter finished. That was a pleasant thought. Lev wouldn't be able to find him in this kind of crowd. Dahlia would be home free in less than fifteen minutes, if all went according to plan.

"Hey, Rose. Dude, how many people can they cram into this place? It's hell."

Well, he certainly was a positive thinker.

The younger twin looked at his brother for a moment. "Hey," he said, giving Dahlia a once-over. Being so familiar with how most clothes fell over his own frame, he could tell that there was more than just a white dress shirt under the suit jacket. A certain predatory smile graced his features for a moment, before the inane Host smile came back. "Nah, it's a lot more hellish when it's just the staff. Less crowded, though. Hey, I'm not complaining, they're all pretty nice." He smiled at his customer. "S'cuze me for a minute, please, Rui?"

He leveled a satisfied, cat-like grin at Dahlia. "I guess you remembered our penalty 'game'," he purred happily, folding his hands under his chin with aplomb worthy of a B-movie villain. Even with his brother in front of him, Rose couldn't believe he had won the bet. It had seemed like such a long shot, too. "Nice mask, too."

"You just proclaimed it was hellish with the staff, and now you're telling me that they're all nice? Rose, keep things straight." He didn't seem the least bit bothered by the look on his brother's face. No, he knew that Rose had to be feeling some self-satisfaction at getting Dahlia to wear a dress, and Dahlia would let him gloat for the moment. At the end of the night, the one who held Rose's bank account in the palm of his hand was Dahlia. He would win anyways, so why not let Rose thoroughly enjoy his victory, so long as it didn't come to Dahlia's public humiliation? He was a kind brother at heart, truly. But, if Rose pushed things too far, he had a few things hidden up his sleeve. Brothers always had something or other on one another, especially if they were twins.

"Of course I did. Unlike you, I don't skimp out on it. You really need to go without ice cream for a week, just because I've done this for you." He refused to let his feathers be ruffled by his twin. No one knew he was wearing a dress. He was fine. Really. "Hmm, thanks. I picked it out myself. It's kind of cheap, though. I'll ditch it before the night is done. It's as annoying as hell." Perhaps by not being bothered by wearing a dress, Rose's gloating would decrease. How could Rose take pleasure in it if Dahlia wasn't truly bothered, anyways? Right, he couldn't take pleasure in it. Damn right.

"Meant the customers," Rose amended. The staff wasn't bad. It just had Moriah on it. That was his only real problem with them.

Actually, Rose could take lots of pleasure in his brother's crossdressing, secret as it was. It didn't even have to be public- the thought of straight-laced Dahlia in a dress was enough to send him into paroxysms of giggles. "No, I don't. I won the bet." He got up and excused himself to Rui again with an apologetic smile.

"Now prove it," he said with a broad grin. 'Course Dahlia didn't have to do it right there. Obviously otherwise Rose, the lazy b*****d, would have stayed seated. He loved the fact that he had actually won something, and intended to relish every moment of this oh-so-temporary victory.

"You still owe me for all the bets you've lost, and I've been lenient on you because you're my darling baby brother." Now that Dahlia had gone through with his punishment for losing the bet, he was going to expect some sort of retribution from Rose for all the times the slightly younger man had skipped out on his punishment. By now Rose would have to go a year without eating ice cream (since that seemed to be Rose's favorite thing to put on the line). But, perhaps Dahlia would let Rose have his ice cream after a week. His brother's moaning and whining would undoubtedly annoy the hell outta him - Dahlia himself wouldn't be able to take Rose not eating ice cream for more than a week.

Dahlia still had not given Rui anything other than a curious glance. It was doubtful he'd even talk to her at all this evening, let alone further acknowledge that she existed. He was here for his brother, and that was that. Rui didn't factor into any part of the equation, so he wouldn't bother himself with her. "You're so impatient," he chided. Dahlia stood up, and moved back to where there was less people, press his back against the wall and peeling off his jacket. He was going to make this quick, and let his brother be satisfied by the sight. He undid the first few buttons of his white silk shirt, and exposed the glistening blue and green dress just slightly. It was all Rose was going to see, because he buttoned up quickly and pulled his jacket back on.

"You satisfied now? The thing is a total bother to wear. I can't believe women put up with it."

Her head tipped to the side and her eyes looked a bit far off before saying "Oh yeah" like it was the most obvious thing in the world.

Rui nodded her head. "Mmhm. I'd probably be doing better, but I sometimes turn in my assignments late because I forget them," she replied.

"Oh, and PE and green, by the way," added the blond a couple seconds later, finally remembering the other two questions.

She heard another voice and turned to face them with a curious expression. The stranger gave her one glance before turning his attention back to Rose, who he apparently knew. He complained that it was cramped in here, but Rui hardly noticed. Often attending high school parties, she hardly noticed.

"Hm? Oh, it's alright, go on ahead," she said and began to observe the pair, wondering what the two were conversing about.

Over the period, she was finally able to piece together a general outline. They had a bet and the older brother (whoever his name was, she never caught it) had lost and ended up wearing a dress. Underneath his suit, of course.

Of course, when he unbuttoned the top part of his shirt, Rui wasn't able to see it very clearly due to the angle, but it didn't matter. She wasn't really interested in that. "Oh yeah, I know!" she piped in. "I'm surprised that I got myself to wear a dress."

Realizing that she had butted into their conversation she shrank down in her seat and muttered, "Er . . . You can just ignore that statement."

Rose frowned. He didn't skip out on too many bets- just... some of them. Other than the ice cream bets, which he never meant to make good on anyway, he couldn't remember a single one that had gone uncompleted. And he would have mentioned it, too, except Dahlia had just proven he was wearing a dress and that was distracting. He smothered a laugh with one hand and ran a hand over his hair with the other. That was so worth it. He might even not pitch a fit if his brother called him on the ice cream bets. "I want pictures." But he didn't say anything beyond that, just started back to the table.

With a cheeky grin, he said, "Those are totally your colors." As he sat back down, he smiled at his customer and continued to talk. "No, it's alright, we settled it. I can't believe they do, either, especially since the pretty lady says she doesn't like them either. Care to share, Rui? I think you look really pretty." Rose did not have the largest vocabulary. He made up for it with a warm smile.

(( :3 There's no possible way that Rui could deduce from conversation that Dahlia is wearing a dress. <3 She would know there was a bet, but not what the punishment was for losing. So, I'm not ignoring you, I'm just not going to reply to those comments of her's. :3 ))

"You're not getting pictures," Dahlia replied levelly, because there was no way that it was part of their bet. Rose had only told him to wear a dress to SHC's grand opening, and he had done that. Any further demands from his brother were going to be ignored and put aside. He followed his brother back to the table, but this time he decidely did not take a seat. No, he had better things to do then sit around here and face the humiliation of his brother knowing he was in a dress. He could easily go the bathroom, remove it, and throw it into the trash can. He wouldn't have to visit Rose all night, and Rose would never know. In fact, that was exactly what he was going to do, now that the idea crossed his mind. He wasn't going to risk other people finding out he was in a dress tonight.

"I'm headed off, Rose. Going to go visit some people, and probably down a few alcoholic drinks." He probably was going to do neither, actually. He was very likely headed home, but there was no way in hell he would let his brother know that. "See ya later." He affectionately ruffled Rose's hair, making sure to mess it up exceedingly well, and disappeared back into the throng of people, headed towards the bathroom to remove the montrosity that was this dress.
