What we might expect from this new adventure...
“The world is not composed of only combat-oriented challenges. There are many ways to play in this world, whether doing favors for characters in the world, playing games, meeting at dance halls or in towns, watching movies together, meeting to race cars, or just simply exploring the landscape.”

With out completely re creating their website and managing to write up a game manual in the process, I wish to create more of a helpful guide to which those wishing to get started may do so without too much research. I will refer to their web site with direct quick links so those wishing to catch more information directly from the source may do so. Each topic will have it’s specific link as each topic has it’s own source from gaiaMMO web site.

Bill runs a farm and ranch to the west and south of Barton Town. He’s been here for years and has quite the extended family working the ranch along with him.

PURVIS

The spectacularly dense, but amazingly strong son of Rancher Bill. Purvis has several hobbies, including carrying cows for distance (he puts them over his shoulders like a yoke) and driving fence posts for speed (he holds them still with one hand while he drives the post into the ground with his other fist).
KATSUMI

This lonely and slightly detached girl tends the shrine in the area. Solitary for many reasons, she is reserved and quiet, speaking rarely and only to those she has come to trust.
LEON

The commander of the Barton Town Regulars, Leon leads the defense of Barton Town and its outlying suburbs. He has a large contingent of guards that operate in Town and the surrounding countryside. Leon is a friendly, good-natured, bear of a man who treats his mother well and is loyal to his friends.
RINA

The good-natured, flighty, some would even say ditzy, owner of the Barton Flowershoppe. Rina can be challenging to speak with because she's just so excitable, but almost everyone in Barton Town loves her like a daughter.
NICOLAE

Nicolae (“Nicu” to his friends) is the owner and proprietor of a travelling gypsy wagon. He’s set up camp in Barton Town while “all the craziness settles down”…which may be for much longer than he originally intended.
BLAZE

Blaze is the daughter of a famous deep sea diver who operates his business out of an old waterwheel mill near Bass’ken Lake. She has a younger brother, Todd, who constantly gets in her hair, which prompts her to spend a lot of time outdoors.
IKE

Ike (his real name is “Gray”) loves the waves. He loves a lot of things, actually…but he loves the waves the most. He’s out in the water most days (unless the sea is glass), but he and his friends party on the beach most nights, gathered around a raging bonfire.

BLUE FLUFF

It doesn’t seem to matter how often you harvest these cute little critters for their cotton fluff, they just seem to appear again from nowhere, like dust bunnies under a bed.

GARLIC

This “stinking rose” has a tendency to belch excessively on anything that startles or annoys it.

ALARM SKEETER

Combining an alarm clock with a mosquito left the world with a critter that possesses the two most annoying sounds in the universe. The Alarmskeeter uses its highly irritating alarms and buzzes to aggravate a target’s inner ear and drive it mad.

LACEBACK BOOTSNAKE

Yes…this creature seems to have once been a rubber boot. And yes…it seems to now be a snake. But it’s NOT “a snake in my boot”…so don’t say that.

CLUTCH

It used to be a lady’s handbag, but the handles became wings and now it flaps about like a bat. Never touch a lady’s clutch. It’s just not polite. And it bites.

OMG

The OMG has all the sympathetic, likeable qualities of a hungry shark. It uses its tail like a whip and it’s a tough cookie, besides. A nasty bit of work, they are.

TINY TERRORS

Nope…we’re not telling you anything about what this monster does or why it looks the way it does…but when you find these little guys running around…watch out! You’re getting into dangerous territory!

KOKESHI DOLL

Seemingly small and innocent, these toy dolls have become…twisted. Watch what they carry. They are NOT your fans.

GHOST LANTERN

Each evening after sunset, these disembodied flames hover in the night air. Why? That would be telling. (And this is just the floating flame right now…not the actual monster). There are other opponents in this area, of course, but we’re not revealing everything yet so that there are still some surprises when you play the game.

PREDATOR PRAIRIE PUP

A scouting party from an highly technological race of beings came to our planet and were stranded here. Unfortunately for them, despite their vastly superior weaponry and armor, they are the size and appearance of small prairie dogs.

WALKER

This heavily armored creature is able to hurl its main body forward, squeezing out concentrated bursts of organic acid. If that's not bad enough, those big legs end in nasty, sharp points that can spear enemies that get too close.
SHOCKROACH

Individually, these bio-electircally charged crawling critters wouldn't be so bad. Sure, they can shock you silly...but it's when they swarm as groups that they become truly dangerous. And they *always* swarm as groups.

Not everything that moves in the world is a bad thing. The world is alive with other animals, birds, and fish, in addition to monsters.

LAWN GNOME

Yup…it’s a lawn ornament. In fact, there are a LOT of lawn ornaments out there…and they don’t seem to be very happy-go-lucky. Together with their pink flamingo guards and pop-up mushroom turrets, the gnomes have been constructing formidable bunkers at a rapid pace and seem to be threatening Barton Town with invasion.

BRAIN CLAM

These undersea denizens aren’t seen much, and little is known about them except that they tend to sting and paralyze their victims, leaving them unable to struggle as the tentacles slowly reel them in, wrapping them up within the clam shell as it closes. Nasty.

ANCHOR BUG

These bugs lose their head at the slightest aggravation…and then they reel it back in again…and then they lose it again…and then they reel it…okay…you get the point. You might even say that they’re real heavy hitters…but perhaps that’s going a bit too far.

Rings

ring rules: A short excerpt from the MMO Site.

"As players move through the world, fulfilling tasks and exploring new areas, they will find many treasures and items of value. Some of those items are special rings that can be worn to give the wearer unusual powers. These powers can include anything from moving a little faster, being a bit luckier or healing faster, to more extreme examples, such as creating self-animated swords that fight for you, projecting movable force fields around allies, to even crazier things like wrapping an opponent in duct tape or throwing an angry hornet’s nest like a grenade.
Players can easily shuffle their character abilities around after receiving them by merely taking the rings off and wearing different ones. This flexibility of character skill sets makes for a very convenient and fun advancement system for your character.
What are they..
Gains wear one ring per finger (not including thumbs), so they can wear up to eight rings at any given time. Each Battle Ring is, essentially, a power or skill for your character.

So, you can wield up to eight skills at any one time. Some skills are passive (always on) and some require activation (like when you attack a monster).

You can only change your rings when you are within a null area in the world (currently known simply as a "Null Chamber")"

Here is a bit that we should keep in mind…

Mantis : Project a light sword to swiftly cleave through the air at your target.
Bump : Bounce your target back on its keester with a big powerful bump of the hip.
Improbability Sphere : A personal force field that can deflect attacks away, or even reflect it back on its attacker. How? Very, very improbably…
De fibrillate : A way to Awaken a Dazed ally. With a big, powerful K-zAP!
Coyote Spirit : The quick-footed Coyote escapes harm by running rapidly. You can do the same.
Dervish : Whirling around at breakneck speed causes a vortex of energy harming everything nearby.
Ghost : Not every challenge should be met with force. Disappear from view with this ring to avoid trouble.
Hot Foot : The ground underneath your target turns scaldingly hot.
Diagnosis : A quick heal that affects all the allies in your immediate area.
Slash : More powerful than the Mantis attack, but slower.
Turtle : The ultimate in short-duration, but powerfully strong defensive protection.

Miscellaneous
Here is where the circle of the ring information is completed and tied together with the other facts about the rings.

There is a short list of character statistics for each player in the game. Those “stats” include:

Accuracy: Basically, how accurate are your attacks?
Dodge: Can you avoid incoming attacks? This stat defines that ability.
Willpower: Are you a victim of “crowd control” abilities (like sleep or root)? If so, this is the stat that helps you resist those attacks.
Speed: Simply put…this is your footspeed. In other words, how fast you move.
Weight: Increased weight helps you resist knockback. You can’t attack someone from sitting on your butt…so a bit of extra weight can help a lot.
Health: If this goes to zero…then you’re Dazed. So keep this up nice and high.
Health Regeneration: This is how fast you recover health when Kneeling.
Exhaustion Dissipation: If you stand still (not doing anything), you’ll lose Exhaustion and be able to do more. This is the stat that determines how quickly you stop being
Exhausted.
When you wear your rings, the energy within those rings becomes bound to your body and spirit. The more powerful your rings are, the higher your base statistics will become. If you keep all your rings at a similar power rating (Charge Level), then you will maximize your stat bonuses. If some of your rings lag behind, then they drag those bonuses back also.


This reporting area may refer to how we ourselves equip combinations of rings we have acquired. Under certain circumstances…or adventures, it also allows us to openly share our ring list if you will.. Those willing to do so, I encourage it as it also allows others to know what is out there and a contact for how it became in your possession.

The Mystery, or is it an evolving Storyline...

" So what’s going on in the world of Gaia? Where did rings come from? Who is behind all the madness? What the heck are “Animated” anyway?

You’ll start the game, along with all the other characters in the world, all wondering the same thing. What’s going on? Who’s behind it? How can we stop it?

In a nutshell, things that used to not be alive (inanimate objects like alarm clocks and boat anchors) are coming to life. The Gaians have started calling these newly-alive creatures “The Animated”.

But the theories are rampant about why it’s happening and what can be done to stop it. Currently, the main towns of Gaia are cut off from each other, each dealing with their own emergencies in their own way. Investigations are constant as everyone tries to find out more about what’s going on, but the Animated are aggressive and disruptive, and most citizens are busy just trying to keep some semblance of normality in their lives.

Perhaps you’ll be the one to find out what’s happening and how it can be stopped. It’s certain that all of Gaia would be thankful if you could do so.
As the Gaian MMO world continues to grow, so will the plot lines, each new story arc building on the others to evolve the world of Gaia far beyond where it stands now…and you get to be an active part of that evolution as you explore the world and aid its citizens."

As it appears this will be an area of heavy changes and additions...
simply due to the fact there is very few clues to start with... and even fewer facts available.. I will only say there may be an entirely new set of Gaian items on the way...
Here are only a couple of Avis that show us a bit of a teaser of what is in store...

"As an example, here’s an illustration of a girl wearing the ninja-to (straight sword), ninja-yoroi top and bottom, and the ninja hood…all of which can be crafted from monster loot items."

"Using a recipe is as simple as taking that recipe to the Battle shop, and if you have the proper items to combine with that recipe, then the item is crafted for your right on the spot and you can wear/use it immediately."


"Much adventuring in the Otami Ruins area can gain you recipes that allow you to create this splendiferous Otami armor."

"If you explore on Gold Beach, and do favors for a few of the surfers there, you can end up with a sick set of rad threads and maybe even a board of your own!"

The Coveted Gypsy Wagon

"Nicolae (“Nicu” for short) has a mobile shop in the back of his horse-drawn wagon. He’s a somewhat mysterious fellow that traffics in the new items found after the Animated began to appear in the world.

Nicu is the one that handles all the recipe exchanges, converting monster loot drops into items that you can wear and place in your house. He also sells rare and unusual items that may pique your interest. Stop by and say “hi” sometime."

Strategy
Advice & Tips

Before you battle:

- First and Foremost, it is supposed to be fun keep yourself from being upset about anything that happens...
- Have A plan. (or a goal)
- Make sure to get things done before you sit down and play.
- Turn on a light so you can see your keyboard better.
- Have a snack near by. (cup of water and some chips)
- Have your team before you go into the game.
- Try to let those your with know how long you can be in game for, it helps plans.
- Turn every thing else off. (other programs on may cause you to get kicked off the system.)

When you battle:

- The one who defeats an enemy has first dibbs on loot
- Let your team know when your taking a break. (Saying BRB = Be Right Back)
- Work together. Try not to risk your team or those with you...
- Be sure to watch for warning sign teammate might be in trouble, if able to text make it a one key signal "H" I like because it can mean both Heal or Help..
- Learn to use the "Hot-Keys" gaia is making. (F1-F8 are triggers for the rings - Unknown for sure)
- Keep an eye on all things in this game. (anything could happen)
- Don't underestimate smaller monsters. (Even more so in large numbers)
- Try not to be "greedy" ask often if you find something in the loot pile you don't need...
- When your in a Battle or Adventure area.. and have to be AFK (away from Keyboard) be sure to move your character to a null area for safety!!
- When in game and would not mind someone joining you, post in this thread, saying come join me, I am . . . . doing . . .

After you battle:

- It is something every gamer says. (GG = Good Game)
- Keep your eyes on the forums. (Info is going to be the best thing you can have)
- keep away from talking tough.
- Keep an eye out for good players for your team.
- You might want to try and check the market place every now and then for rings that will apply to you and help you.
- Some rings are going to be trash to some but rare to others.
- Dont come out of this thinking you know everything.
