There is a place in this world where death and the unknown run strong...
There has been a recent increase in unexplained activity. This ranges from people disappearing to undiscovered or even extinct animals roaming the streets. It all started a few days ago, with the discovery of a strange device. When said device was touched by it's discoverer, it began to glow, then it dispersed a wave of energy that destroyed the surrounding area, leaving nothing but ash. The device soon began to glow again, a darker color, and it dispersed, the energy just hung there, and then it began. Creatures began to emerge.
Dinosaurs, mammoths, giant birds emerged, seeing their home for the first time in millions of years. Other creatures, ones that humans have never laid eyes on, emerged from the portal, and began to move amongst us. There have been several disappearances, mostly teenagers, but no deaths as of yet...

Before his disappearance, he was suffering from strong headaches, and after his disappearance, his headaches vanished, but a even bigger issue had been created. His optimistic and calm personality keeps him alive in this new void... Thinking was never her strong point, she much more of a ‘shoot first, question later’ type of person. She takes her job a little too seriously at times, but she’s trying to do it right. A tad overprotective of anyone she finds because her past made her understand how important friends are, seeing as she never had any, being a thief and always on the run. She takes ‘To Serve & Protect’ to the extreme. Dawn is hard to figure out; beyond her constant poker face, she has a quick temper and is unsure of why she's in the void and what's being planned. She has seen some of Earth's technology, and is slightly obsessed with it, being like a little kid like a shiny new rock. The sun was setting over a normal day, the common people went about their lives, ignorant of what later would be described as 'a horrific tragedy'. Is it true that ignorance is bliss? I think not, my dear friends...
Remy was laying on a hill, watching the stars, oblivious to his fate. He had been suffering from horrible headaches lately, only to have them subside when he relaxed and watched the sky while listening to music. It was a cool night, so he was wearing his black leather coat, and his new white bangs covered his forehead. He was just about to doze off when it happened.
The sky above him was ripped open, creating a vacuum, and sucking him in, sending him into darkness...

Dawn whistled merrily as she pushed the 'cart' full of 'lunchables' around.
She owed a lot of things to her life here (first and foremost being her life), but one of her favorite things was the human food.
Other than her pointed ears and odd style of dress, Dawn looked like the teenagers she passed and gave food to, but there was a certain difference in her manner.
Dispite her whistling, she had perfect posture and stepped quickly, barely looking at the teens she fed.
The most important difference though, was how they lived in the void. The humans barely survived in the endless dark, but Dawn thrived in it.

Remy pushed himself up off the dusty ground, his head swimming. "Ugh... Whad happen'd?" He groaned, rubbing his head. His right eye was burning, almost exploding with pain, and noticed his body was slightly glowing yellow. "Ugh..." He pulled the earbuds from his ears and turned off his mp3, only to find his body stopped glowing and his eye stopped hurting. "Whad is dis place?" He asked, looking around, his eyes scanning the darkness.

"WYRNN!"
"Y-Yes Capt. Oliveira" Jill jumped in her chair, having been looking at the case files.
"It's only your first week of duty is it now?"
"Yes Capt. Oliveira Sir..." Jill closed the folder of pictures. Mentally hoping to God he'd shut up.
"So, have have discovered about the missing people."
"Well, Sir, there all missing for one."
"My your brilliant! What else." His voice leaked sarcasm, what did he do to get this moron of a rookie? Hell yeah she could use a gun, kick serious butt and he'd yet to break her gaze, or make her lose her cool. But she wasn't all that bright and here she was on a case that no one had gotten worked out yet.
"Well Sir, the 13 people from here missing so far have just vanished off the face of the earth. But if we flip on the tele." She flicked on the TV with the oddly close by remote, the muted news report came on the screen. "Everywhere all over the world strange things are happening, it's not a local occurrence it's global and not a soul can do a thing about it. Not even the military, navy. Hell not even the air force can do a thing. So I think we need to focus on the here and now."
"Rookie, It's not your job to make decisions, shut up and do your job." He walked out the door and shut the door with a clunk.
"Cuz if it was you'd be out of one." She growled low at the closed door, reopening the folder, not looking up at the monitor showing the latest disappearance of an older teen, seeing as it was coming out of the fax machine on her right.

Oh joys, a newbie.
Dawn threw him a 'Lunchable' like it was a 'frizbee' and moved on. Once she finished feeding them, she got to practice with her tomes. And that was way more important to her, so, as the humans said, 'so long, suckers.'
Although frankly that didn't sound all that nice.
Why did the humans say it as a joke? Jokes are meant to make people laugh, not to sound 'cool.'
Which brings us to another phrase that Dawn didn't understand.
Why say cool for some people, and hot for others? Cold people were distant, yes? So why were 'cool' people usually popular and outgoing? And who wants to be overheated??
This is so much fun... *falls over laughing at own randomness*

Remy didn't see the thing coming-- Until it hit him, more like butchered him. The thing bounced off his cheek, sending him back down to the ground. "Whad de bloody hell?" He shouted, picking up the tray. "Eh? Whad is dis? Some kind of food?" He growled, tossing the tray away. He staggered to his feet, and headed off into the darkness, stopping when he realized that his phone had a light he could use. He flipped it open, only to find that he had no signal, and his battery was low. "Dat sucks." He pocketed his phone, popped his mp3 in, and walked, only to stop a short time later, the pain from his eye was excruciating. His hands flew to his eye and he fell to his knees, yellow light pouring from the eye. His teeth clenched, and finally, the pain vanished with a loud crunch...

She read it over: Name, age, L.K.L, description, picture... Walking over to the board with a map and 13 other coloured flags, jammed in the newest one. "Remy Aeros.... Remy... Remy... I know that name..." She sat back at the desk and study the picture and read the details. "He lived-" "WRYNN!!! GET YOUR BUTT IN THE CAR NOW!!!" "Holy... ah well." She grabbed her stuff, namely her badges, guns and ammo, knife, phone and all the other fun stuff. A coffee on the way she slipped in and slammed the car door. "Well get on it then." She said taking a sip of coffee.
They soon arrive at Remy's Last Known Location, and ducked under the yellow tape. "Well if you ask my-" "Rookie shut up, no one did." The detective launched into his theories and other assorted crap necessary to keep his paycheck, Jill looked at the ground. Guess what?! There are no tracks leading away, so he either walked back in his tracks, or got picked up by a plane. Considering all the facts you could say he got abducted by aliens. Crap I NEED another coffee. However, the detective was working for his pay so no chance for that.

So the newbie was undergoing the test-- accept the changes and survive or die. So far all of the humans brought in had given into their bodies and survived, proof that greed and rushing ahead got you nowhere, while patience and thought got you places.
Although how you tell if a human's body can stand the void, Dawn had no idea. She just left the humans and went to practice.
Sometimes she practiced where they could see, give them both light and an idea of how far away from Kansas they really were. (TV and movies had to be the best thing she'd ever SEEN)
But they'd have neough fun ith the newbie, so not today.

Remy slowly removed his shaking hands from his eye. Nothing covered his hand, and when he looked at the reflection of himself in his phone, he saw only light pour from his eye socket. "Whoa..." He once again staggered to his feet, and let his eye act as a flashlight as he walked through the darkness, testing for signal strength, finding none.

Dawn was standing perfectly still, letting the dark and silence of the void seep into her. In... Hold... Out... Hold... In... Hold... Out... Hold...
If she could find peace in the void, when elves were supposed to be creatures of light, she could find peace anywhere much more quickly.
Having found her peace, she pulled out her Fire tome and felt the energy travel into her and through her, appearing in the other hand as a fireball.
Holding the still-closed tome, Dawn threw the fireball before willing it to become a wall of flames.

Remy found nothing in the dark, dusty land. No signal, no city. "Ugh... Where am I?" He asked again, receiving no answer. Light began to creep across the land; day was coming. "Well ad least i know dat dere is day in dis place."

HE FINALLY SHUT UP! HAPPY HOUR! Jill tried to stay serious as the detective left. "So Rookie, what you think?" He looked at her with a smirk. "I think you need to stop listening to BS and look up." So he did. "WHAT THE-" "Told you!" Jill walked back to the car to fetch her coffee, as film crews and her boss looked up at 'The Void.'
Several hours later it was all over the news and guess who discovered it? Some egoistical, smart a**, science nut case that just 'happened' to be there. Jill still burned at this. However, she was at home in bed sleeping so not at this moment. The case files were on her night table, along with all her cop stuff. It was a really big night table.
