You may speak about Gaia, news, anything in your life, whatever. But as a simple reminder, keep foul language to a low and follow the rules of the guild and/or of GaiaOnline.

I guess I will start the chat. First I'd like to ask if anyone here has had any experience with a hacker or scammer. Has anyone tried or has anyone hacked your account in the past or tried to take your stuff?

Yeah, I get emails all the time from people wanting to hack/scam me.
The real thing to watch out for though is people you make out they have been hacked when really they are scammers. The major bummer about that is it's very hard to proove they are a scammer.
The only thing thats took my items though is the market... damn you evil rising/falling prices scream .

Because I'm new I haven't had any experiences, my friend however used to be a member before she went off to university and she was hacked at one point. I can't remember if she said they took anything though.

One of my friends was also hacked before. I believe they took all of his stuff. Plus they used his account to try and ruin this guild. Unfortunately for all of us, that is the former members, my friend just so happened to be my vice-captain. So the guild was almost ruined until I finally got hold of a mod who ended it and my friend left Gaia. It was one of my worst experiences on Gaia and it was all caused by one person who hacked my friend. A hacker can be a dangerous person online. That is why we are trying to stop them.

I've never been hacked but one of my friend'd been hacked and she lost all of her stuff neutral

Hopefully you won't have to. Just remember to never trust outside sites and to never give out any information on your username, password or e-mail even if they say they are a Gaia admin or something. Gaia would never ask for your password.
Don't fall for scams like free gold give-aways or things like that. Anything that asks for information don't trust.

I have been hacked mutiple times so far this year... But thanks to some of my good friends, and my brother, I have been able to get some of my things back, and find out one a the people who had hacked me =)

That's good to hear. I only wish others were fortunate enough but as it happens many people never get their stuff back.

Yeah, one of my other friends who were hacked, he couldnt even get onto his account and he had to start all over again. But the good thing is, he is doing alot better now then on his old account lol. =)
