Her humans vacation was nearing the mid-point of there trip. She was lucky that out of all the dogs they had prehaps choosen her to come along. Maybe because she was their newest baby or just she was the only one that didn't try to escape out of her cage on the plane. Either way she found herself quite lucky to be on the sandy beaches on this tropical island. Being a track dog she had never felt sand like this under her feet. It had been an icky kind of dirt that clumped between the pads off her feet. But not this- it was like walking on liquid gold. How it moved how it flowed. She was giddy like a puppy.
Then she tried something she hadn't done in awhile- ran. More-so she was curious if the sand would actully hold her body, or she'd regretably sink into it. Oh well she couldn't back out now after finally making up her mind. With that she wiggled he buttox streched out her legs- then took off at a full gallop, and in her glee she had not suck. No she was mearly floating ontop of the sand leaving a single trail behind her. Oh what a day this was!

The sun was shining and the ocean breeze carried the thick scent of salt. Compared to the city, with it’s own cornucopia of smells from fast food to fish markets, this place was grand in it’s simplicity. Admand couldn’t get enough of it and despite loving the city, he was glad his master had decided to go out with his friends and bring him along. Nope. No house for him. Better yet, when his master relaxed and acted a food with his friend near a dieing fire, he got to run around on his own and enjoy the sand, the sun, and better still, the great pool of water that stretched on for forever and ever. It blew Admand’s mind to see so much of the water that he scarcely could image what brought the humans to make such a big pool of it. Still, he liked it. Much better than a bath and it smelled better to. Like fish!
On his own, he freely entertained himself with seagulls, barking until his throat was hoarse. He drank from the sea but found it an odd taste and not quenching any of his thirst. He would have continued to fill his gut with the water until he saw kelp move on the surface of the tide as it swept in and then receded back and then swept in and back again. Dancing in the sea foam, Admand was determined to get the kelp, but have a bit of fun with it too.
As the water swept up, he would jump back and race around, barking at the water and just as it whisked back down the shore, he would race after the kelp, splashing and nipping the water to get a leaf or two. (There was a pretty big mess of it.) Repeat and get drenched. By this point, his thick fur was dripping and he had drops of water dripping off his muzzle. Still, he gave a toothy smile and continued to play.
Ah, the beach. He could get use to this.

Again she furthered herself in the beeline kicking up more sand and increasing her speed little by little as she went. No more then a brown blur in the distance. She would then change her direction again now splashing out and about in the surf. The white shoals getting larger and larger the further she went. It then became apparent that she had run too far into the water and now she was no longer running but swimming fast. The cold water nipping at her short furred body- but lucky for her the sun was still hot enough to balance out her body temperature. But the speed didn't last for long as she seamed to be now enjoying a nice leisurely swim getting further and further from where her owner was. She'd go back later when her adventure was over.
But to Chocolate it had just begun; and without even noticing she seamed to now be swimming where there were more and more people and dogs. This place was never ending and oh, so exciting, she was pleased that her owners had brought her here. The greyhound was not more then a few seconds from diving head first into the water when a dog with spectacles had caught her attention. He did not have a short coat like her- so it was funny to watch the water drip off his thick rough like that. She could only imagine if her own fur was that long- probably wouldn't be able to run as fast anymore. But the other dog seamed to manage quite well. A small yip coursed threw her muzzle and with a smile called out a 'Hey how you doing!?' at him.

Admand was rather proud of himself as he had collected a good sloppy mound of kelp that he had fetched from the frothy tide. Still, that wasn’t to say he was done. He wouldn’t allow the kelp of the sea to win over his great skill in fetching and he took great pleasure in pulling himself out of the water, heavy with water as he walked up the wet sands to his mound, opening his muzzle to drop more of the slimy plants to the mound, along with a dead fish that had tangled itself in the mess. He liked the smell of it and wondered if he could find more.
It wasn’t every day that Admand could go out into such a big body of water and with the hot weather, he liked to dunk his heavy coat into the water, feeling it lap against his body as it was submerged as he paddled in and then raced out, feeling heavier without the float of water. He was sure that if his master decided to live here, he wouldn’t have terrible missed the city….not at least a few days. Sitting on the bank, he scratched as his mound of kelp, his find and his fetch, and sniffed various plants and bits that clung to it.
His interest was taken when he heard the sound of treading water and turned to see a chocolate dog paddle her way through the water and from the smell, he was pretty sure she was a she. Smiling, he raced to the bank, not entering the tide, and bounced back and forth, barking. He heard her greeting and was elated to see another. He liked company and this new dog seemed interesting. Short coat and slim features. He wondered how light she felt. He always felt heavy and during winter, he felt thankful for his coat. During summer, he was envious of the shorter haired kin of his kind.
“I’m great! The water is great! I pulled up a lot of things. How are you?” He called out, stopping as he gave off a series of deep-throated barks, stopping to lower his front half down and perk his tail up, sprinkling water from his wet tail as he dripped on the shore. He hoped she’d stop instead of swimming on. “Where are you going?!” He called out, wondered if there were more dogs about and if he could join. He wanted to run with a pack of dogs.

Chocolate was happy to have been greated so warmly, some dogs were plain mean when they were gaurding 'treasure'. And from the sight of it- now that he had brought her attention to it seamed to had aquired a vast amount of it. Super curious she burst forth from the water and shook off her short coat. It was perfect for the sunny weather as she never had to worry about over heating- though she had to wear 'human' clothing during the winter. It made her feel silly to be wearing a jacket and shoes- but as opposed the alternitive of freezing she'd take it hands down.
But that really wasn't what she was thinking about at that very moment. Her attention was on the pile of kelp and dead fish that seamed to take up almost a quarter of the beach- this dog was unmistakably good at fetching. "Treasure!" She barked back a few times at him before going up towards the other and giving him a friendly sniff. At first he smelled horrible- like her master had left the trash out for more then a month; but as the individual smells seamed to drift threw her long muzzle she grew more and more curious about what he had been doing to smell so intoxicating. She then paused, her eyes falling on the pile of junk again. "That mound is AMAZING! How long have you been working at it?" Her tounge then lolled out of her mouth wanting to know all about the things that smelled.

Admand puffed his dripping chest with pride, glad that someone was around to appreciate his work. He would probably bring a bit of him in his mouth to show his master, but he really wished the human would come and find him so he could show him ALL of it. Sadly, his owner was the 'stick with other owners' type and would probably be with then till late at night like last time. Still, if he could show one dog, maybe word of mouth would travel. He kinda liked the idea of being well known around the beach as the best fetcher of sea stuff.
Turning to address his pile, he trotted over and started to nudge objects with his nose. "I've been at it all day. I found this green stuff, which is really hard to hold onto but smells good. Then these fish. Some moved...others didn't. Then these hard rocks." He said, nudging a few shells that had been tangled in the kelp or he had found floating on the shore. Moving about, he nudged a coke can. "Then some garbage. Always great." he said, showing various bottles, cans, worn wrappers and even a organge shovel forgotten by a child.
