Rent it first. I'm hearing alot of folks don't seem to dig it, but I personally find it awesome.

I hope I don't offend anyone, but DON'T BUY IT!
At best it's a rental, but I'm not even sure about that.
It wasn't very fun and the controls are tough. sweatdrop Esspecially the 'car parts' of the game.

Well that's a matter of opinion, isn't it? Like Kenshiro said, he loves it.

You might not like it, but telling people not to buy it is kind of like enforcing your opinion on them, isn't it?

My bad o.o;; Didn't mean to make it sound that way.

No, it's fine. See, that's what Alone in the Dark is....it's very love it or hate it. Hell, if you've read Tycho's opinions on the game, you'll notice he's conflicted as HELL about it and he usually has a bottom line as far as how good a game is.

As far as MY experiences go, yeah, I'm a bit annoyed by how difficult some enemy encounters can be, especially since when you're indoors, there's ALWAYS supplies nearby for fights in there, but on the overworld, there's alot of luck involved and I RAGED quite a bit when I drove around trying to destroy dark roots guarded by the larger sumbitch humanz. There's also plenty of parts that you'll probably end up doing over and over again and you can't skip cutscenes in these cases....

But I still friggin' love this game. I'll probably buy it.....um, after I get Gears of War and Silent Hill: Homecoming, maybe. Games are kinda expensive-ish for me right now @_@

Yeah, but hate it or love it, telling people to buy it or not to buy it is kind of bold.
Anyway, body under the bridge.
Although with these control issues and such, I'm kinda hoping they'll tweak them a bit by the time the PS3 version comes out.

Oh, and I DO have another odd complaint: I can deal with "forced" dialogue. It's annoying, but playing horror games long enough, you get used to it.

That said, goddamn, IRL NOBODY uses the f-bomb so goddamn much and so forced like that! I mean, c'mon! There's, like, plenty of other swear words you can use too, y'know?

Here are the cutscenes in a ******** ********, I KNOW, ********/> talk2hand

Shameless ploy to make teenagers go, "There's swearing in this game! Cool!"

Alone in the dark is a game that really needs work. It feels rushed and I think that if they had waited longer and spent more time on it, it would have been better. The fire physics are amazing though. Get too close to the screen and you'll lose your eyebrows.

Makes you wonder... Will those improvements be made on the PS3 version?

Doesn't it say that the improvements are coming FROM the ps3 version?

The patch for 360 is to add in all those PS3 adjustments, actually.
