...a Republican? A Democrat? Libertarian, Green, or Independent? Is the current de facto two-party system an efficient, not to mention beneficient, form of government? Does the existence of other parties make the Republican and Democrat parties stronger, weaker, or do they merely provide a convenient source of new ideas? What do you think of America's political status quo?

I despise party politics, but I prefer the Republican party. It prevents variety and divides the country.

I think having the other parties like Green, Independent etc etc takes away from the vast majority of votes for the two parties we know & love best rolleyes That's not nessicarily(sp?) a bad thing, I think. We, as a country, are not as diverse as we claim to be & people voting in mass quantities for unpopular parties frustrates the bigg'ns, which is always a happy thing.
