Jia landed lightly in the open meadow. She was still getting use to this new land, but at least it seemed agreeable...accepting. It was already home to several other mythical creatures, she had a feeling she'd fit in just fine. She stretched out her wings as she took in her surroundings, an open meadow bordered by a clear lake on one side and a dense forest on the other affording her a bit of privacy. But was that what she really wanted? No...not really, but she wasn't about to make a spectacle of herself by dropping in he middle of any of the crowed herds she'd seen as she entered the valley. But it would be nice if she could meet someone... "Someone Nice," she corrected herself aloud.

Ryu walked along the path slowly.. just enjoying the time to himself. It was odd not being around any of the kids.. but they were growing up. His little Kame was his only baby at the moment. He entered the meadow and paused for a moment upon seeing the other pony. She was a species he'd never seen before. "Oh umm.. hello there."

Jia whirled around in surprise at the sound of the voice, "Oh." A dragon! she realized in shock. And I'd thought they were all but extinct. "Hello yourself," she said with a half smile as she composed herself.

He smiled and tried to place the species... she looked bird-like "Phoenix?" He blinked "Oh sorry that was rude... I'm not well-versed in the species until we go on an adventure to help them. I'm Ryu... are you new to the Valleys?"

"Guilty on both charges," she said with a quick grin as she folded back her wings. "I'm Jia, new phoenix in town. And you..." she looked him up and down. "You are definitely a dragon. How'd you come to find yourself here? You're a long way from the mountains..."

"Nice to meet you... as for how I got here..." He shrugged "Personally I 've been here as long as I can remember... if I lived in the caves I don't remember that time. There are others around that came from there and from eggs we rescued. One of my adopted sons came from one of those eggs" He beamed proudly.

"One of your adopted sons?" she arched an eyebrow. "Sounds like there's a story in there somewhere..." She noted his proud posture questioned further, "How many kids do you have?"

Ryu grinned "Well during the dragon thing I got Raijin (thats the dragon), and Cirrus (an earth boy). During the Breezie event I got Mimic, Cygne (a Breezie), and Neveah (also a Breezie)... and through some spiked punch had my two biological daughters Zhu and Lynnea. And then on this last merpony thing I received my last son... Kame." He grinned "During the flutter thing I found Oschter and Azucena but they were both adults and just help me and Emrys out"

Jia regarded him for a moment, "Busy guy..." She grinned, "I can't imagine what Mrs. Ryu thinks of you bringing home all these children all the time..."

He shrugged "I suppose... though Lynnea stays with her mother." He blinked and blushed lightly "Oh... there's no Mrs. Ryu... while my friends seem to be pairing off I think I'm meant to remain mate less. I have my kids... that will be enough."

Jia blinked, "Oh...well." She regarded him thoughtfully, "You know, there is a way to deal with that little problem. From the accounts of your children, I believe you are familiar with it, spiked drink or not..."
