°»Clashing Hearts//Feudal Japan RP «° Intro Rest in Peace - Takada Shimura The True Reflection of a Samurai Inspired this RP. Sling! Blades across the battlefield met each other in a striking, yet outstanding manner. A small beam of light bled out of the suntanned vapors in the sky; it reflected off of the armor and weapons that were in motion below. “Charge!” An impressive warrior stood in the middle of the battlefield on his white mare. His crimson armor blinded his enemies and fellow soldiers, and the banner tied around his forehead showed off his clan’s luxurious symbol.

°»Clashing Hearts//Feudal Japan RP «° Plot It was the end of the Middle Ages in the grand continent of Europe, but in Japan, both a cultural and physical renovation was emerging. It was known as the Warring States Period. It is known that before Japan established the incredible prefecture system, the provinces of Japan were known as Kuni. Each Kuni was ruled by a fearless champion, which settled all economical and military disputes of their land. All of these selected ‘Heroes’ wished to expand their dominance unto other kuni; other lands. The vision of owning more than they already possessed was apparently affirmative in the daimyo’s minds. There was one uprising ruler that wished for his place in history, Date Terumune. He was close to obtaining control over all of Mutsu Province. He was close. There was still one daimyo to destroy, Todai Hajime, ruler of the Todai parish. It was a small village, and it was constantly attacked by bandit adversaries. Appalled by the constant thread of survival, Hajime asked upon the peaceful Todai temple to help train a Samurai army. Soon, most of the men and some of the women were qualified militia. Mistaking the Date Banner for that of a bandit symbol, Hajime asked one of his Musket-holding guards to fire a warning shot. This enraged the Date army resulting…in war.

Information and Rules †Inaccuracy† Obviously this Role Playing thread will not be historically accurate, actually I wanted us role players to rewrite history with our own characters. Go against the Samurai and heroes of the past, and soon unify our imagination’s view of Feudal Japan. I mean isn’t that what Role Playing’s about?
†Literacy† This is a Semi-Literate/Literate/Mega Rawr Literate roleplay. I want an environment in which people who knows how to role play, people who don’t but wish to learn, and role play experts can roam. Although I do not want sluggishness, even I sometimes have short and confusing posts. It is natural to have writer’s block, but if you do consult the all of the RP members through an OOC post above your short post. That way I do not warn you for it. The minimum is a Paragraph.
†Romance† Romance and Role Plays go hand in hand. I would not mind seeing affection between characters, but this is a minor-friendly website. Also, sexual activity probably won’t even happen between two Samurai in these times. They would be constantly fighting for their own life and doing stuff for their leader, that stuff in those PG-13 flicks are fake xD. Kidding, but they are Perverts and junk. You may personalize your character with such an attribute, but don’t go overboard.
†Language† Just like above, I am worried about the minors of this site because I am one. This is an RP that deals with death, valor, honor, and enjoyable content. Because of that, I do want this to be somewhat humorous. So I would only allow swearing if it has a comedic effect or some sort of reason. I mean I do understand an arrogant character swearing if his shoes were stepped on or something. Be reasonable.
†Joining† If you wish to join with a original character, pm me with the subject “Don’t mess with Texas, Marge” If you wish to join as a character that was already named in the history, “D’oh” Obviously I’m watching Simpsons.

[Name] Todai, Yoshiro [Nickname] Savage [Age] Fifteen [Class] Samurai Rank Footman Family The Todai Family: The Todai was originally a temple in the Echigo village of Sao. During one of the clashes between the Takeda and Uesugi families, the village Sao was seriously destroyed and the Temple was rampaged by the Takeda. A special artifact was stolen and most of the temple’s guards were killed. A few teenagers who were currently training to become monks decided on visiting the Takeda general that occupied the artifact in hopes to return it to its native grounds. The trio of Alter boys made their way to the Kuni called Kai, which belonged to the Takeda. Ruled by the grand strategist known as Shingen, these lands and terrain was completely unfamiliar to the men. Once arriving to Muto Kihei’s home, they entered wishing to speak with him. From the travelers they passed during the destruction of Sao, they heard that he was responsible of stealing the urn. Once gaining his audience, they told him of their struggle and their wishes to rebuild the temple. This man was very compassionate and returned the golden urn, but banished them. He thought that if Shingen learned of his gracious attitude, that the elder strategist was accuse Kihei of treason. Understanding the man’s request the men decided on building their temple in the lands of Mutsu. Mutsu was under no attack and there was hardly any wars, a perfect place for both a peaceful temple and village. Alignment Todai [Personality] Yoshiro is a very naïve and innocent little child deep down. Most will find him a little rash and discomforted with outsiders, but that is only because he is cautious. He was taught to defend his village and his temple during the Awakening of Samurai in the small village. He is very religious and often rehearses some old sayings. Yoshiro is very playful around those that he knows and understands. Overall, Yoshiro is just a young boy that wants to become a hero and honor his family. [Strengths] Yoshiro has very good handle with his weapon. He does not know much swordplay, but he makes up for it with his ferocious slashes. He is very comfortable with a few other blades, such as the Nodachi. Other than his physical prowess, Yoshiro is an impressive speaker. He can convince most people to do reinforce his following. He can get the most depressed people to side with him, and that is a very useful skill. [Weaknesses] Yoshiro is very reckless with his weapon. When in one-on-one battles, he will most likely come out defeated. His instincts are very off, and he is not the best defender. He also does not worry about his rear or open regions that can be attacked. He is known to just swing his blade and hope to hit. [Weapon] Mura Kura: This blade was passed down through the Todai generations after the town of Todai was built. It was known as the Hero’s glaive, because the blade was originally attached to a spear-like weapon called the Naginata. [Biography] Yoshiro is the son of Hajime Todai, ruler of the Todai village. Although he does not act as if he is important to the village, he is considered the next ruler of the village. Yoshiro honestly does not wish to rule over anything, he wants to prove his mettle out of the field like the other newly-made Samurai in his village.
Obviously born in the town of Todai, this young boy was always making a mockery of the clergy in the village. That was his youth’s pastime messing with the priests and monks of the village. The Todai Temple was extraordinarily important to the village and Yoshiro was often scolded to his actions with them. All the monks knew that his tomfoolery was just play, but Hajime and his mother disagreed. They were seriously religious and they did not want their son to become into a heathen.
Unknown to Yoshiro, the monks of the temple defended him whenever they were harassed by the boy. One day, after an attack by the insane bandit known as Ryu, the whole village went to their temple to pray for the causalities. It was then and there, when Yoshiro became very compassionate to the religious leaders of the village’s church. He applied himself to practice Zazen, which at the time was customary to Samurai and their sons. The thought of enlightenment was foolish to the boy, but he respected the teachings.
During the recent brigand attack, Yoshiro took care of the children of the village. He made sure they were protected, and then went out to see if the damage was dealt. It was then when he noticed his father on the town hall’s balcony, crying. Yoshiro never saw his father so sad, and it tore the young boy’s heart. Furtively, this made Yoshiro determined to protect his village from any other cretins that may attack. When his father thought of turning the villagers into a military force, everyone was pleased including Yoshiro. The Todai villagers gave the young boy individual classes, but they saw no progress, they did see potential though. Training him to his limits, he soon became good enough to become a normal soldier. They thought that he would learn all other skills and techniques through battle. Now he faces his first challenge, dispelling the Date army.
