Ahiru found she honestly enjoyed living near water; even though Koshka were usually prone to avoiding it, she'd always found it rather alluring in some sort of way. Having only recently moved to Erasmus with her parents, she'd found the surroundings rather thrilling; the buildings, the people, everything. It seemed as if the city were slightly more open to new people... and slightly nicer on a whole. While racism did still rear it's ugly head, Ahiru had noticed it wasn't nearly as pronounced as within other places she'd been to.
That aside, the girl was not really prone to dwelling too long on such grim thoughts, and her mind swiftly drifted towards the water she was sitting by; her dress pooled around her as she sat by the beach, her hand leaning over the side of the rocky barrier to swirl within the water. It was a comfortable place, peaceful and languid; so much so that a bird had dropped from a nearby tree and was making it's careful way towards the koshka's side, it's brilliant golden feathers fluffing out as it moved.
Despite the world being in war, Ahiru was at peace with her surroundings. Then again, the girl had little common sense, and had not really come to notice that sitting on a rock by the shore might not be a good idea because... the sea tended to be rough at times. A wave crashed against the rocks nearby as if to warn her of the threat, but still she'd not noticed any danger as she refocused her attention the lithe bird.

He'd never admit it, least of all to his sister, whom he -knew- counted the number of times he walked down this way to gaze out curiously over the ocean with a book of stories under his arm about Knights and Danger and other things that, if asked, he'd tell you were 'rediculous'. But he did wonder about other places, like the cities of the Baylik, wet as they were, or air pirates, and...
His ears flattened as a wave crashed against the rocks but it drew his attention along the barrier and scowled... "HEY!" he called to get her attention, strange girl, quite unknown and probably ruining her dress. "What are you doing? Aren't you paying attention?!" The waves were already fairly choppy today, strong wings whipping them to a white and aggressive froth. He hastened his step just in case she hadn't heard him his tail lashing, reserved, but never the less twitching with vexation

A ear perked at the voice, the hand she'd had outstretched towards the avian pausing mid motion as her head snapped up. A blank, almost owlish expression seemed to marr her features as Ahiru tried to pinpoint the source of the voice, "Huh?" horribly un-eloquent, but then again, the girl had never been known for being eloquent at all; childish and with a few quirks here and there, Ahiru was used to seeing the world through pink hued lenses, making it horribly difficult for her to discern the dangers that surrounded her.
It was likely that if asked, she'd have said the world was a big flower bed where nothing wrong could EVER so much as happen. It was then her eyes landed on the boy rushing towards her, her head tilting to one side because she couldn't for the life of her understand what he was being so... hasty over. Then again, her lack of common sense made it so that she'd still not really noticed the waves. That is, of course, till a particularly large one came crashing against the rock she'd perched herself on, the water coming to soak her whole form.
Blinking, the girl looked absolutely baffled, her hand still outstretched towards the place the bird had been before it'd flown away at the sight of the large wave. It was almost as if she couldn't understand WHAT had happened, or WHY she was soaked. Looking down, she blinked at her soaked clothes, her hair plastered to her forehead as the boy approached, "..." was her brilliant response to the situation.

He stood there for a long moment utterly in awe of her sheer... -FOOLISHNESS- whom on -earth- could be so oblivious to... to EVERYTHING.
"Geh" He made a sound of utter disgust. "... never mind...I see you -weren't- paying attention" he said ears flat and voice cold. What an -idiot- "At least the bird had the common sense to leave."

Still soaked, the girl took a few moments to recover, blinking owlishly up at him. That is, of course, till his words cut through the confused haze in her mind; she shot to her feet in an instant, "No one asked YOU!" she told him as she stopped her foot slightly; of course, the shoe produced a mild squishy sound that had the koshka girl cringing automatically, turning her head to look down.
.... ew. Ewewewewewwe eeeeeew....
Growing up at him in a rather petulant, almost childish manner, Ahiru flattened her ears back, "Well, the bird has wings, and I don't," as if summoned magically, the small yellow bird dropped from the sky to settle atop the girl's soaked head, chirping lightly, "Traitor..." she told the avian in a small pout as she rolled her eyes heavenward, even despite being unable to see the actual creature.

"You have -legs- Don't you" He snapped back glaring down at her... and then "They could have carried you away -just- as well as wings if you'd been -paying attention-" He informed her his tail bushing slightly at her retort that no one had -asked- him. He'd been trying to -HELP- after all, stupid girl...why couldn't she see that... fah!

"I was sitting down... I can't posibly jump to my feet fast enough..." of course, then again, she shouldn't have been sitting there in the FIRST place. She frowned up at him in the face of his logic; then though, another wave crashed against the rocks they were standing over, forcing a mild yelp from the girl whom moved forward to grab the boy's arm at the shock, "And... we should probably continue this conversation off of here," at least SOME small trace of common sense was left in her, though it was mild, for she'd not even bothered to let go of his arm.
As if to voice it's mirth, the small bird perched atop her head chirped slightly.

His tail turned bottle brush at the soggy grip...good lord, she grabbed on like another -man- not lady like at -ALL- "Euugh-" he declared..."Brilliant deduction, maybe next time you can think of it -before- you sit someplace likely to be soggy..." He tried to extricate his arm.

At his tug, the girl loosened her grip on him, blinking in an almost baffled way before turning her head back to the crashing waves, "You're grumpy," she told him when she finally turned back at him, "Bet your face got stuck like that, in a perpetual scowl," and that said, the girl brushed past him, her tail giving a mild swish as she allowed herself to hop off the rocks and onto the sand.
However, her clumsy nature got the best of her and no sooner had she landed on the sand, that she tripped down, landing awkwardly. The fact she was wet meant sand got stuck on her soggy clothes. Letting out a sigh, the girl pushed herself up, attempting to brush herself off, "Don't understand why I have to wear these clothes when the other ones I had were so much easier..." of course, her parents were new to the aristocratic world (in a way - even though they lacked an actual title) and had insisted upon her dressing in such a manner. No matter though; the clothes were obviously ruined...
Turning her head she glared at the boy as if DARING him to laugh at her.
