I haven't gotten into much new anime but Deathnote struck me when i saw an episode where Light forces an FBI agent to commit suicide to hide his identity as Kira. I watched it since then almost religiously, and now it's sadly over ;(
I want to read the manga too, but the whole collection is out of my price range for now.
